I like the decor of this barbecue spot and think it's kind of cool that it's nestled into a residential neighborhood. I ordered sliced brisket with beans and rice and coleslaw. I thought the portions were really good and the price was right too. The service was nice but unfortunately the brisket was not terrific but I did like their barbecue sauce that was served warm. I'll bet this place is good for catering events where barbecue is appropriate and appreciated. I'm thinking maybe I just caught them on an off night and I will try them again because they deserve a second chance. read more

First time coming here since we were in the area. At first I thought, oh no, no cars in the lot but we walked in and it was quiet. We sat down and were tended to immediately. Great choice, super friendly waitress, great, fast service. We ordered appetizers to start. Fried zucchini, armadillo eggs and boudin link. Everything was delicious, hot and quick to come to the table. The boudin link was just right spicy. The zucchini was delicious a little bit thin sliced but good. The chopped beef sandwich was great, lots of meat and super soft, great tasting bun. Bbq sauce on the side with pickles and onions. Huge sandwich. I definitely recommend this establishment and will be back soon. read more

My family loves coming to Andy's BBQ. Food tastes amazing. I specifically get the loaded Baked Potato with Brisket. Service is always friendly whenever I got pick it up. I picked up an order on Veteran's Day and the staff thanked me for my service. Which I appreciated. The wait time isn't excessive. Establishment is clean and good lighting. Very nice people to wait on you. We got takeout along with many many others. I had catfish unfortunately the breading was salty. Onion rings were good and green beans were good. They do one heck of a business so their barbecue must be good. I just don't like barbecue. read more

The food has been great, and is more reasonable than the Papa's nearby. We definitely prefer it. The stuffed baked potatoes, ribs, sausage, and brisket sandwiches have all . I like most of the sides, although I do have a personal preference for pinto beans as my bbq beans, but the rest of my family likes 'em. I am not in this area often but am looking for reasons to go back Hands down the best BBQ I have ever had. When I was brought here by friend I was a little hesitant. It is located within a small subdivision. There is ample parking and you can smell the aroma of delicious BBQ from the moment you pull in the parking lot. The interior of the building is very quaint and clean. The service was great a young lady was waiting on everyone the day we were there and we never lacked anything. Found this little gem on yelp. It is in the middle of a neighborhood and is doing a thriving business. Price was good and the food was very good. Brisket and ribs were good and had really good Bbq sauce and the red beans and rice were excellent. I forgot to get armadillo eggs but will get them when I return. read more

Very friendly place very clean lots of parking. The atmosphere is nice lots of business. They have a lot of clients. I ordered three meat, combo, brisket and barbecue ribs and spicy Boudin. I was not impressed. I expected to have at least a little smoke in my meat. Honestly, it tasted like it was boiled. It had no salt and no flavor had to dip it and barbecue sauce. O.M.G I LOVE THIS PLACE. It has a certain hole in the wall charm that me & my husband have been searching for ever since we moved out of Galveston. An eight year search finally to an end. My family loves to bbq but it can get a bit expensive & intense if done right. So it's nice to find a place that can throw down so you don't have to. The service was excellent. Huge pick up order for us and they got everything right and threw in some extras we didn't know we needed. I love, love, love their bbq sauce! Sorry xaxxax but it just don't slap like Andy's. I have been here several times. Good food and service. Nice atmosphere feels like a family ran restaurant.

Ordered 2 pounds of brisket, 2 pounds of turkey, and one pound of sausage for Thanksgiving. A friend recommended this place saying it was really really good. The brisket was extremely dry and tough and nobody ate it. The turkey was good and the sausage was OK, but there was not enough food for all of us because we couldn't eat the beef. Made several calls to the manager throughout the week and left messages on both voicemail and with an employee and never received a callback. read more

Meats tasted fine with my only criticism being not enough smoke flavor on the brisket and the chicken was a bit overcooked for my liking. The food was great!! My hubby and I just got the bbq baked potato and fried okra. He got chopped meat, I got sliced. Both were great and juicy. As always we got the sauce on the side. Plenty for leftovers for lunch the next day. The highlight though was the freshly fried okra. Just the right amount of salt and oooh yum. It was just the right crunch and flavor. We came here because my son had loved the fries he had here a year or two ago. I ordered a cheeseburger, and I wish I had read some of the reviews beforehand. The burger was large, but nothing special. The onion rings were battered; not my favorite, but better than some places. The menu said the lemonade was homemade, but it was from a powdered mix. The fries were mediocre. My son said they lacked the flavor and freshness of the ones he had tasted here in the past, and these fries weren't really any better than he's had at fast food restaurants. Every year I get my Mama a gift card from Andy's because we love the brisket so much. This year my brother sent me a Andy's Hawg Wild mask and I decided to do a traveling mask photo collage since I live in Reno, Nevada. I came to Houston for my Mama's 94th birthday and when I went to pick up my take out order I gave my little framed gift directly to Andy. He seemed delighted to get it and gave me a big ole smile. The fried okra here is some of the best I have ever eaten, my Mama loves the greens and the baked potato's are cooked perfectly, but the brisket, well you really should try it yourself. If you have one of his masks, be adventurous, take a selfie from somewhere you travel and give it to Andy, let's see how far his masks go! read more

I been coming to Andy's for years . Quality and portions has declined. Management in charge of cashier and phone orders has been a problem for years. Always forgets to write down orders properly and give attitude to when special requests are made. The only good thing that has kept up is the eating area and the young workers that serve the food. read more

Ordering was easy and staff seemed very polite. I don't think everyone would agree, but I actually appreciated how the pulled pork was served dry - sauce on the side always and not drenched in all its fat/oil and juices. It was clean and the bbq sauce was flavorful but for the price, thought it was a little lacking in portion. However, I was more disappointed with the sides I got. The turnip greens were sitting in a pool of fat. Even after pouring out the liquid and ringing them out, the greens had that sheen of oil/fat. As for the banana pudding, the actual pudding part was delicious - not overly sweet and had a good balance of pudding to wafers/bananas - but suffered from being topped with cheap Cool Whip. First time visit, I wanted barbecue and was going to go to Pappas but felt like supporting a local spot. I'd give it a 4 but the customer service was questionable. The older lady welcomed me with a "what do you want" instead of a "hello" or "welcome". I was very close to walking out and driving the five extra minutes to Pappas. As I ate my food (which was pretty good) it seemed Andy himself (I assume it was him) took over the orders. He seemed the complete opposite as he welcomed everyone who came in and thanked them for coming. Another worker asked if I wanted a refill which was nice. Andy's serves the best barbecue in the area. It's something you crave after your first visit. The decor is very fun and "down home". There's almost always some country and western music. Occasionally you may catch some live entertainment. I really like how friendly the support staff is. It really does feel like your home when you dine at Andy's. And now I am really craving some Andy's BBQ. Now I have to decide if I'll order the chopped sandwich or the sliced brisket or the chicken! read more
