    Boudain and armadillo eggs

First time coming here since we were in the area. At first I thought, oh no, no cars in the lot but we walked in and it was quiet. We sat down and were tended to immediately. Great choice, super friendly waitress, great, fast service. We ordered appetizers to start. Fried zucchini, armadillo eggs and boudin link. Everything was delicious, hot and quick to come to the table. The boudin link was just right spicy. The zucchini was delicious a little bit thin sliced but good. The chopped beef sandwich was great, lots of meat and super soft, great tasting bun. Bbq sauce on the side with pickles and onions. Huge sandwich. I definitely recommend this establishment and will be back soon.

Found this little gem on yelp. It is in the middle of a neighborhood and is doing a thriving business. Price was good and the food was very good. Brisket and ribs were good and had really good Bbq sauce and the red beans and rice were excellent. I forgot to get armadillo eggs but will get them when I return.

O.M.G I LOVE THIS PLACE. It has a certain hole in the wall charm that me & my husband have been searching for ever since we moved out of Galveston. An eight year search finally to an end. My family loves to bbq but it can get a bit expensive & intense if done right. So it's nice to find a place that can throw down so you don't have to. The service was excellent. Huge pick up order for us and they got everything right and threw in some extras we didn't know we needed. I love, love, love their bbq sauce! Sorry xaxxax but it just don't slap like Andy's. Can't wait to go back. We paid pretty much $10 per person, (2 adults and 4 kids ages 1-11) with large portions. Great bang for buck!

You can ask to see the piece of rib before they cut it for you and they will happily oblige (patrons behind you might not be so thrilled with that move, but they'll live). Sides were excellent as were the mashed potatoes with white gravy on the side, green beans that were just tender enough, but also a bit crunchy. Perfect. They were seasoned with pork, so if that's not your thing, you might want to skip it. We also ordered their shareable onion rings, easily enough for three people that were huge, hot, and crispy. Let's get this out of the way, some of their prices are a little up there, but if you're anything like me, and don't frequent BBQ places often, it's a rare but enjoyable treat. Sometimes you have to splurge and live a little. Also, they have their regular sauce on tables, but you now have to ask the cashier for their sublime coffee BBQ sauce. Don't be shy, ask. It's worth it. Oh, pro tip: If you want beef ribs, the 'plate' is actually cheaper and a better deal than 'by the pound', so save a little money and get two sides.

When I walked in, the place was clean and the aroma of BBQ was smelling really good in the air. The decor was very nice and the owner was even nicer and very welcoming. I went in there only looking for ribs because I have found that a really good rib is hard to find, however, the ribs here were very tasty, a little pricey, but very good. I always say that I don't mind paying extra when the food is as good as the money spent for it. Now, let me tell you that I only purchased a pound of ribs and a quart of Mac and cheese and the M&C was also good. I believe that the young man helping behind the counter was the owner's son so that tells me that the business is family owned, can't go wrong with that. The other sides looked delicious as well but I was not really that hungry for other dishes. I will go back and try the other items on the menu at another time. Now that I know where it is, it will be easy peasy to get there again. Once again, I forgot to take a picture of the food but I will when I go back. Anyway, pull up on em at Luka's Barbecue & Steak and enjoy!

Many folks get orders to go, so it's not a fancy dining room, and has picnic-style tables. They put generous helpings on the platter, too. I'm not sure if there are new owners or if something has changed, but the quality has definitely gone downhill. My husband and I ordered the ribs, and they were extremely hard and dry. They didn't taste fresh at all--it honestly seemed like they may have been from the day before. For something that should be tender and flavorful, this was a big letdown. When I brought this to their attention, the staff offered to bring more ribs, but I didn't feel comfortable accepting the same item again given the quality. I would have appreciated a different solution, such as offering an alternative dish or adjusting the bill. We ended up paying $42.54, which feels far too expensive for the quality of food we received. Overall, this experience was very disappointing, especially compared to how good this place used to be. I hope they can improve their food quality and consistency.

Potato salad is a bit loose (not quite runny) with a nice mustard flavor (not overpowering). Coleslaw is very good (mayo dressing, but not too much - just enough to moisten the cabbage without being soupy - doesn't leave a puddle on the plate). The sliced brisket has good flavor, but needs a little more time in the pit for just a bit more tenderness. The ribs are great - perfectly tender (nice bite without falling off the bone) and a slightly sweet rub. Skip the sauce. The meat is good and doesn't need it. The sauce is sweet and smoky and will overpower the meat. Or - be weird like me and mix a little in your potato salad. It's good for that. Maybe get a few pickles, onions, or jalapeños from the condiment bar to eat with your brisket, but don't ruin it with the sauce. Just enjoy good, slightly smoky meat.

The cooking plate was changed often for us, the servers are really attentive so we've never really had to wait long. They should change the order system to self serve digital pad though but it was fine as the servers came around a lot. I finished off the meal with soft serve ice cream. The place is pretty cold in the end when people left in our section though as the AC is high but I like it because the BBQ usually gives off a lot of heat.
