I took 2 pairs of designer shoes to different cobblers at the request of a friend at different times. Andy's gets 5 stars. The other got 3 stars. I took a pair of Christian Louboutin heels to Andy's to repair a heel and soles. The heel cap was missing and heel breast was torn. The outsole was worn. It took a few weeks, but the result was well worth the wait. The heel breast and heel tip/cap were repaired. They look almost as good as new. The cost was less than the other store that only repaired the outsole. read more

I needed a leather belt restitched. Yelpers swore by Andy's, and they were 100% absolutely correct. Once I navigated the traffic in that part of town. I found Andy's in a small plaza with parking that can be trying during a busy day. There was a line from the counter to the door where a nice woman was handling business that included a very stubborn man that insisted his shoe be fixed. The woman handled him quickly and I was next to the counter. The nice folks said "No Problem, we can fix that" I was told it would be ready on a Friday and it was. My belt was double bridle leather and tough as nails, it was no easy task bringing it back to life. The craftsmanship it took to stitch my belt is unmatched in our area. Yep.thats the place to get you kicks fixed !!! My beloved well.over a decade old boots looked rough and the sole was worn through. The tip had a tear in the leather as well, and Andy's fixed it all up in just about 2 weeks. They even put up with my shenanigans of wanting to call and check on my babies. They did better yet. They sent me pictures throughout the process, keeping me informed as they knew how much I love my footwear. Now that's service!! I'm not sure if they do that for everyone, but it sure made me feel special and got my wife to roll her eyes again, hahaha. My daughter's leather purse strap had frayed and needed to be reattached, so I brought it here on the recommendation of a friend. It cost only $16 and was completed sooner than estimated. They did a wonderful job and you can't even tell the strap had been broken in the first place. (I initially went to a former shoe repair shop on W Center that now only does leather goods and upholstery - they quoted me $80!) read more

I did not need full-service repairs and she was not willing to work with me and just reiterated it would be 4-6wks until full service was completed. This review isn't about the quality of the workmanship at "Andy's", but rather the way I was treated by the craftsman who worked on my shoe. I took in a shoe where the rubber sole had come loose. About a month later, I finally put this pair of shoes on, one of which was repaired earlier. I noticed that the sole of one of the shoes was unglued. Since Andy's guarantees their work, I took the shoe back in to get re- glued. The woman working up front said it would be glued free of charge since their work is guaranteed. When I went to pick up the shoe, I was told there was a charge and I explained that I was told there would be no charge. The craftsman who had worked on the shoe rudely told me to leave and to never come back to his store again. Evidently,unknowingly, the shoe I brought in to be re-glued wasn't the left shoe that I originally brought in but its mate that was also starting to come unglued. I honestly didn't realize which shoe I originally took in to be glued. All I knew was my shoe was coming unglued and I (incorrectly ) thought it was the shoe that had been repaired earlier. He immediately thought I was trying to pull a fast one on him to get a free shoe repair. Now, I am 75 years old, white haired, and slight of build running errands with my 73 year old wife. I guess I looked pretty shady to him and he let me know in no uncertain way he thought I was pulling a fast one on him. Before leaving the parking lot, I realized I had made a mistake thinking I brought in the shoe that I had taken in originally and went back and paid the bill. Mr. Cranky Pants wasn't there when I went back to pay the bill so I hope he knows I paid for the shoe repair. He immediately jumped to the conclusion I was a crook. Anyone who knows me, knows I am one of the most honest people they know. I didn't appreciate his insinuation. He told me to never come back. I will gladly NEVER come back and will tell anyone who will listen about my experience with Mr. Cranky Pants and the unglued shoe. read more

I have owned Birkenstocks for decades but never had any re-soles. I took in 2 pairs. They told me it would be about 2 weeks but my shoes were ready in about 4 days. Cost $70 per pair but they look brand new with new soles and insoles. New Birka run 120-200 so this is a good deal. read more

Upon arrival, I walked in with little to no greeting. I felt invisible. I showed him my favorite pair of boots that needed a minor fix (one of the buttons came off) and before letting me finish telling the guy (I'm assuming "Andy") what was wrong with them, he said "can't be fixed" ...I was confused because it seemed so minor to me. He just shook his head and turned to the next customer and basically shooed me out the door. It was so rude. For a first experience at this shoe repair, it was definitely a bad first impression. I was hoping for him to at least give me another solution, but he didn't. This gentleman is a true professional who still believes in taking pride in his work. I had a pair of US Air Force low quarters with the soles and heels disintegrating due to shoddy craftsmanship. Andy explained why they fell apart after only 5 wears, and gave me a number of options for sole and heel replacement. I said "Andy, you're the expert. What would you use." He showed me the option he thought was the best quality, and when I picked up the shoes they looked better than the new pairs in the store.
