I needed 2 winter coats repaired, several small things on one and a big tear in a seam on the other. They guesstimated $35-45 for the 2 items, 2 week's turnaround. I went back 2 weeks to the day, and the coats were beautifully repaired. The bill was about $70, but I'd asked them to really fix them right, so in knew it would likely be more than the at-a-glance guess, they found more damage as they worked. Both coats are old, I expected it, and still far less expensive than a new coat. Go to them knowing that it may be more than the first quote, they'll call if you ask them to. Got introduced to this fabulous Family ran tailor. It really has the small town feel to it. Walking in the first time there was a bit of a line. Connie is so sweet and did so well with my bridesmaid dress. I needed it taken up a bit and she did amazing. She was very quick, responsive and fairly priced. I only had three weeks till the wedding and she had it done a week before. I was a bit frantic trying to find a place I trusted with how short of a time frame and she completed it with plenty of time to spare. All I have to say is WOW, these ladies are amazing. This was the best experience getting clothes fixed I've ever had. I ripped a big hole down the butt of my favorite pants (winter time weight, you know how it is) and decide to see if they were salvageable. I also brought in my favorite hoodie that had a very minor tear on the pocket, easy fix but the hoodie had some unique colors. Not only did they match the new thread with the my hoodie colors perfectly, but they saved my favorite jeans! Looks like they were never even fixed. The owner is the nicest lady who won't mind chatting to you about your day and helps the Midwest keep it's "nice people" title. I've been going to Jack's Tailors for years, but over the past few months, their quality has gone down. I brought 2 items to them and not only did they not do what I asked but made my articles of clothing inches shorter than discussed. I asked for a zipper on the side of one of the items and they put it in the back. Not sure what happened to the service and quality, but since their prices have gone up too, I'll definitely be taking my business elsewhere. I recommended a friend here, and she also was incredibly disappointed with her clothing item as well. read more

Connie is a miracle worker! Brought in 2 suit jackets, a pair of suit pants, and 2 vests that needed to be let out in about a week and a half. Went to pick up on Saturday, everything fit perfectly! She painstakingly went through seam-by-seam to get the job done rather than adding paneling or something of that nature and her hard work definitely shows. You can't even tell any work was done, and that's the way it should be! Would highly recommend for everyday tailoring as well as those trickier jobs!! read more

FOUR weeks ago in October, I left my GOOD winter coat at Jack's to have the zipper replaced, to have a small pocket seem and tack the sleeve. After 2.5 weeks of not receiving a call as they said I would, I called them and they had not even started on my coat. They said, "Come tomorrow, it will be done." Two days later I went to pick it up only find out that they "fixed" the zipper INSTEAD of replacing it as I requested. I asked if they tested the fixed zipper. "No." they said. So I put the coat on, zipped it and sat down and it popped open and was NOT fixed. (BTW, I am one sizer smaller than the coat). These three repairs were almost $50, the zipper seams are uneven -- the zipper shows in SOME places, seams are crooked and my GOOD winter coat is ruined. Not to mention the mess they made of the sleeves. Only one sleeve had a problem, now both sleeves are more screwed up than before. SAVE YOUR MONEY I can't afford a new winter coat, that's why I had it repaired now I have nothing!!!! AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE, TERRIBLE SEWING AND ON TOP OF THAT THEY OVER CHARGED. read more
