I had looked at several photography websites, and the photographs on her website caught my attention due to the lighting, color, and creativity. When my fiancé and I met with her, she showed us additional photographs which further demonstrated those initial impressions and an eye for beautiful angles an moments. I also really liked her personality. She was professional and so kind. Her packages were also affordable. Shortly after we signed the contract, Lily found out that she was pregnant and due about a month after our wedding. Therefore, photographing for 8 hours would be unlikely for her on our special day. She gave us information about her back up photographers (who have photographed with her professionally) and because she found out soon after we signed the contract, she offered to let us cancel the contract which my fiancé and I appreciated. We didn't take her up on this, however. After Lily promptly answered numerous emails with questions about her back ups, we decided to stay with Lily. We are so glad we did. Lily photographed our engagement session at Golden Gardens in Ballard, and we received hundreds of beautiful photographs from our time with her. The colors were gorgeous and she captured our personalities and relationship dynamic so well. While Lily did not photograph our wedding, she was with me on that day. She took my "getting ready" photos at the salon and at my hotel. I got married on the day of the Solstice Parade, and I got stuck in the parade traffic after the salon. Lily beat me back to the hotel and waited for thirty plus minutes for me. While stuck in traffic, I realized that the Solstice parade was ending at our desired place for pre wedding photographs, Gasworks Park. Therefore, we had to change our location at the last minute, and I was running late. Needless to say, I was frantic. I called Lily, and she was calm and helpful, and said it would be no problem to contact the other photographers. Lily was waiting for me at the hotel when I arrived, frantic and feeling rushed to get ready. She was so calm and organized that it calmed me down. She helped us figure out another location for photographs, on the UW campus. After the initial photographs, she came to the venue for the family photographs to make sure all was going well. I appreciated how invested she was considering she was not even supposed to be there on that day. I recently received all the photographs, and my fiancé and I are so happy. They are absolutely gorgeous, and there are plenty to choose from. The UW proved to be a wonderful location for the pre wedding photographs. The beautiful brick buildings and trees added so much to the photos. All of the photos show creativity in poses and angles. The photographers captured many perfect candid moments as well. This came as no surprise considering what we had already seen from Lily K Photography.

Julia's compositions are inspiring, her knowledge of where to shoot, and her understanding of our insecurities all put us at ease. I knew I had to go with her but can admit I had a lot of questions and needed what I imagine was more guidance than some clients throughout - but Kiersten was a DREAM to work with every step of the way! She was incredibly responsive and communicative. She responds quickly to emails, is genuinely open to questions/ideas/uncertainties, and really wants to understand what her clients are looking for to make sure everyone loves the final products. She listens, asks good questions (has a great and comprehensive form you fill out before the shoot!), encourages you to share what you're feeling or worried about or thinking and then works with you every step of the way. We even had to reschedule once due to weather and I was going to reach out to her but she emailed me first to check in and then easily helped me reschedule without any issues all in a very timely manner. We wanted a photographer who wouldn't be interested in the "cheese ball" shots and would best capture our personalities (we're weird enough when we aren't awkwardly posed). During that first meeting, Stephanie made sure to walk through the general look and feel of what she'd be doing during our wedding. When she showed up for the day of the wedding, she was prepared and professional and definitely knew how to handle two anxious grooms who were running around making sure everything was good for the festivities. My partner and I just let Stephanie take the reins for how our photos were done, and I'm sure she would have preferred a *little* guidance, we're so glad we did, because her ideas were better than anything we could have come up with. Also, having that list of group shots was so important, because it made taking pictures with all of our family and friends fly by.
