I would've gave a 5 star only because of the people who work in the back, Fanta (Nurse) Was Fantastic & Made me feel comfortable, what went wrong is FRONT DESK.. you walk in, no one welcomes you, you say hello. They ignore you and have the AUDACITY to give you an attitude. For someone who deals with bad anxiety this wasn't it, they lack professionalism and to have an attitude and talk among each other and stare at you like they're in high school, do better. I really wanted to keep the rating I gave originally because I think Jessica Lopez and Vilasuso are awesome with their care but after some of my recent experiences I cannot do so. I've had multiple visits where my medications are supposed to be sent over and just don't get sent and then I have to call their office multiple times to get something done or what I've dealt with recently where the doctor and the office are supposed to send over prior authorization to my insurance and use the wrong diagnosis code and have it denied by my insurance for that reason. One of the medications I take is for nerve pain and I went from taking it every month to having the office mess up the prior authorization and now cutting it cold turkey and over a month later I still haven't had it sent in so I have waited 34 days in total with still no prescription. Crazy to me that an office prioritizes how many new patients they can fit in each day over making sure their current patients needs are met and the simplest things like medication refills get taken care of. Overall pretty disappointed with the office since they were taking over by a new company. read more

I have very mixed feelings leaving a negative review after years of having been brilliantly cared for by Dr V. I was treated with compassion and kindness... Couldn't have been more satisfied. It is almost the end of July and I stopped attempting to speak with anyone on staff that could help me reschedule a procedure that was cancelled the day before I was due to arrive in JANUARY! Numerous attempts were met with apathy and ineptitude. I understand that the practice was sold and I cannot imagine that success is in their future given the carnival that they have turned this into. I will not continue to be a patient with this practice as I owe it to myself to seek treatment from a practice that cares about my overall wellbeing and values me as a patient. I would strongly encourage anyone that is desperate to find relief from pain and suffering to continue to search for a group that can give you what you need... For me this includes respect and medical brilliance... I won't settle for anything less. read more

New owners as of Jan 2024...Outsourced everything across the pond! Left hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Additionally, they fired all but 4 workers and hired unprofessional, uneducated people with no medical experience. One girl didn't even know how to apply a BP cuff. Another time I laid under the C-Arm (ex-ray) AND THE GIRL TRYING TO RUN THE MACHINE HAD NEVER GONE TO MED SCHOOL! I will never go back. Dr. O. knows his work well, but he is allowing these actions by staying with them. There are others out there that know how to treat pain. Notice to the state has already been sent. Absolutely horrible experience! The office set me for an appointment and gave me incorrect information. They told me appointment was in the Boca Raton office. Because of my severe chronic pain, my husband had to take a half day off of work. Drove to Boca office and it was locked! They were in the Tamarac office. Will not return. read more

Good doctors, awful front end staff. As a patient you'll be held hostage by the front desk staff, every single time. Appointments cancelled without notice, 2 hour wait times is the norm, waiting on hold for 30-45 minutes also the norm. Bad attitudes, uncaring. i never thought that in all my years in the medical field as an administrator for a provider's office it would come to this. i was seeing dr j alshon at the boca raton office for many years for my chronic neck and head pain.he is a wonderful dr until january 2024 i had no problems whatsoever,but he had to resigned. the practice was bought out by corporate and that is when the almighty dollar takes over the pt's well being. needless to say they are only interested in doing procedures wether the pt needs the procedure or not and this is why dr alshon resigned. dr alshon is a very honest and decent dr he cares for his pts and does what's best for them.he had been treating me for 20 yrs and has done procedures which have helped but have also prescribed pain medication and anti-inflammatory medication. i can't go into detail as to why i'm writing this but i'm disgusted with this practice and the way they just treated me today 3/5/24 and if anyone is smart enough to read reviews read this because they are not prescribing any pain medication -----what they are doing is they get you in the office {boca office}and try to talk you into a procedure meanwhile they knew i needed my medication for this because it was never sent to my pharmacy when dr alshon had given it to the ma to send but apparently somehow the other rx went thru.now today again they said they were sending the rx i need before i end in the hospital sick from withdrawal but they sent instead medication i don't need.it's 6pm i have been dealing with this problem since friday 3/1/24. i pray god will listen to my prayers before it's too late. after dr alshon leaving this practice i would not trust any dr in the practice. now since the practice is run by corporate there are no morals and that is my opinion of course. in order for them to make money everything is productivity and the pts are only numbers. as an administrator i have dealt with greedy people and it's just awful when our providers get involved with these corporations and the dollar is more important than what they really went to school for. what is becoming of our healthcare system????????????????when the pt is only a number................... read more

This has to be the most unprofessional doctors office I have ever been to. Let me explain. Back in June of 2023 I was referred to pain managements to help me with my extreme back pain. I have broken my back 5 times with compression fractures. The 1st visit with them was fine. They decided to try me on 5mg Percocet 1x a day to help with the pain. This wasn't working too well so I hand another follow up appointment in the beginning of July. i ran out of my medication due to needing more than was prescribed, which I called them and told them. Basically, the 1 moth supply lasted 18 days due to me needing more of the medication. i called the doctor office and informed them that taking the medication 2x a day helped make the pain bearable, but around lunch time, the pain comes back if I don't take another pill. They told me that the doctor is fully booked and that I would have to wait until my appointment in July, July 3rd rolls around and I am expecting to see the doctor at 1:00pm. At 9:45 am, I get a phone call telling me they need to reschedule for July 6th. I inform them that I have been out of my medication and have called 3 times to get them to write more. Their answer was that someone will call you back to help you. No one called me back and the doctor ended up writing 60 count 5mg Percocet pills to get me through the month. My follow up appointment was scheduled august 2nd. On august 2nd, the pain doctor informs me of other options I can do instead of taking pain medication as he doesn't want to keep writing me it as it isn't healthy due to its addictive properties. I opt into having an operation on September 11th. August 22nd comes around and I find out that I will be going out of town to see my 96 year old grandmother who isn't doing well at the time. My family calls me up and tells me that I need to get on a flight asap to say my goodbyes. I inform the doctors office that I will be running out of medication on the 2nd and I will be returning the 6th. They tell me that they will call in some medication to hold me over till my operation on the 11th. on the 4th, I still see that my medication is not at the pharmacy still and there is no way for me to pick it up as they haven't called it in. I email the office as they have zero answering service after hours and even during office hours, if the line has too many calls, no one will answer and it just leaves a busy tone. At this point I am freaking out as I know my pain is going to come back in full swing. The doctor conveniently was not available until the date of my procedure to see me. My other doctor writes me the prescription for the Percocet to get me through till operation day. On the day of my procedure, I get a call telling me that the insurance has not approved the claim and they have to resubmit it. Not 2 hours later @ 11:00am September 11th, they call me and tell me that the insurance has processed and approved the procedure. They inform me that the doctor can see me on the 13th of September but the procedure will have to be scheduled October 16th. I sign up to have the procedure the 16th of October and see the doctor September 13th to refill my medication. This time though, since I had the other doctor write me medication that his office was unwilling to provide for me, they tell me that is against their treatment policy. I explain to them that I have called numerous times and spoken to several different staff members who assured me that obtaining my medication wont be an issue; (yet it was}. That's exactly why I needed another doctor to step in due to this doctors staff lying to me constantly that they are taking care of it when they did nothing. Don't worry, the story gets ay crazier. On October 16th I show up at the surgery center after not eating or drinking anything the night before and am there at 6:00am. I am brought to the back and given anesthesia. I wake up in which my back was still shooting pain all the way down my left leg. I asked them, "did everything go ok?" Their reply was the procedure failed and the doctor will come in and tell you what happened. 2 hours later I am sent home still not knowing what has happened and that I am in more paint than normal. I call the doctors office demanding an explanation of what happened. They transferred me multiple times to then just tell me that they scheduled an appointment October 31st to go over what happened. November 20th had a 2pm appointment. Doctor didn't show up, no medication still and no idea still what has happened with surgery. IM GETTING A LAWYER read more

Excellent quality audio & multimedia dr's visit. It was almost like the dr. was in my living room! Now if they (medical programmers) could figure out how to do day surgeries, that would be astronomical! Dr. Valasusa is an incredible, intuitive and empathetic pain management specialist. He is my doctor 6 years and counting. He controls my nerve pain, my head/eye pain & recently my cancer pain. Dr. Javier Vilasuso MD Is the best doctor in my opinion at the office. If you are anything like me who wants a doctor with compassion, sincerity & who will take the time to listen to you this is the doctor that you want at your side. Dr. Vilasuso will never make you feel that your concerns don't matter to him he is actually quite the opposite he will sit there with you who will looks at you and answer any question, concerns you may have for him. Remember (Dr. V as he is called by many of his established patients like myself) went to medical school to help treat people and provide the best quality of life. The rest like compassion, integrity, empathy ,comes from the heart that is not taught in medical school. If I had 1 wish It would to make him my PCP. I have the most ultimate respect and trust in what ever his suggestion because I know he has his best interest for me & my medical condition. read more

This facility doesn't even deserve 1 star but we have to list something because we cant comment without something. You can never get through on the phone, waited 45 minutes just to cancel an appt and hung up, still trying to get through to the office today to ask why a 9am appt was called in at 8:30 am, and i still cant get any help for my 87 year old mom who suffers from pain with no relief from two injections. This office does not communicate well, my significant other has had major problems with the office staff and the PA's who have no bed side manner. This office needs a complete clean up of staff who can provide compassion for people. PA's need to go back to school to learn the reasons for entering medicine and not just to make money. If it was your family member you would be reacting the same way but your not in our shoes. lets see how much longer I have to hold today to just get a body on the line, oh and don't call the office at 4 or 4:30 too close to closing time, no one will answer. Dr. Ira Fox was an amazing doctor at first but he always leaves on vacation all the time. My poor mom always has to see another doctor just to get her prescription. Now apparently the staff won't let her see another doctor. they charged her $99 for a P test which you can do for free through your insurance. The staff is the best and they also seem to label you even though you've been there for 10+ years. Now my mom might be paralyzed completely and where is her doctor now? Dr. O is incredible but the office staff is horrible and it ruins the office. The wait is ridiculous, especially when you have one of the first visits of the day, you still wait over an hour. I would highly recommend everyone stay away from this doctor's office. They give you the wrong information regarding insurance on the phone. They make the mistake of telling you they are in network and then you find out through your insurance they are not. Then you cancel follow up appointments due to insurance and they follow up and ask why you cancel where you explain to them - simply they are out of network. Rather than find a doctor in network, they bill your insurance again for a follow up to why you did not show. They are unscrupulous people who apparently find STEALING money from patients is more important than doing right and providing a medical service. No services were rendered! Rather than be fair and maybe I would recommend people or worst case part ways, they want to try to screw me. So I will resort to informing the public and informing future patients the truth. Dr. Alshon is the best! He is patient and he listens to you. He is not like some doctors that comes in and out in 5 minutes. He talks to you about your illness in layman terms which you can understand. And discuss what treatment is good for you not TELL you. Fantastic doctor. read more
