I have had IPL and PICO laser treatments in the past (not here), so I understand that multiple treatments are often needed for full results and clearer skin. I wasn't expecting perfect results from one treatment, but I was certainly expecting some indication that the areas had actually been treated. Instead, it seems like additional spots that hadn't even surfaced before were brought out, so I now feel like I have twice as many spots. None of the treated spots have flaked off or improved, and I also have a wound on my shoulder that bled and still has not healed, which was not there before the treatment. I texted their texting line to let them know what was happening and received **no response at all.** At my follow-up appointment, the doctor came in and immediately wanted to do more laser. At that point, I did not feel comfortable allowing them to do another treatment. While I was waiting for the doctor, my daughter actually pointed out a roach crawling on the wall behind me. The office itself is dingy and simply does not feel clean or well maintained. The front desk staff initially seems nice, but when you ask questions or express concerns, the attitude quickly becomes irritated and passive-aggressive. I paid almost $600 and, almost three weeks later, feel that my skin is worse than when I walked in. I'm extremely disappointed with both the results and the lack of follow-up or concern when I reached out. My advice is to take your time finding a reputable dermatologist. It may take longer to get an appointment, but in my experience, it's worth waiting for a place you feel comfortable trusting with your skin.

Instead, Dr. Velez provided a complete physical exam, obtained a full medical and surgical history, and screened me for a few health conditions based on my intake forms and family history. Needless to say, I was impressed with her approach this visit. Not only does she provide comprehensive care, she also knows how to build rapport. She entered the room with a friendly smile, used little medical jargon, which improves communication for many, and was very approachable. If I were to stay in Orlando, she would be my primary care physician! Velez Family Health is located in Dr. Phillips in an office building.
