    a three tiered wedding cake

Working with this bakery was truly a blessing. I received a beautiful product at a reasonable price and excellent customer service. My daughter is diabetic and wanted a traditional birthday cake for her quinceanera. The Asian chiffon birthday cake was to die for. Not only was it beautiful, but sweet enough for my daughter to take a bite with the other guest. I got lots of compliments and questions as to where I got her cake. I encourage others to try this secret gem , thank me later.

I haven't actually been to this location, but I get their bakery items from the Cambodian store in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Jacksonville, FL. They are either shipped in or the owner goes to get them. I'm not really sure. I especially love the two types of pork buns with the sweetness of the bread and the savory flavor of the pork. The taro filled buns are equally delicious. Each bun comes individually wrapped for freshness and and tastes like they were just baked. The heat up very well, too. One of these days I plan on making a road trip to Norcross to visit Angel Bakery and then I'll be able to give this place a proper review. As for now, the limited baked goods available to us right now deserves four solid stars. :)

With all the Korean bakeries in every corner of Duluth, it's good to get a Vietnamese style bakery as an option. Located in the Hong Kong Supermarket food court. It can be totally ignored if it wasn't for my friend recently who got a huge cake for her dad's 70th birthday party. You know Asian OGs prefer Asian baked goods to not be overly sweet. I was in charge of organizing a celebration at work on May 21st - which is actually the official day for World Day for Cultural Diversity. I preordered and prepaid (you could put 50% down and pay the other 50% when picking up). I wanted a full (whole) size cake with strawberries in the middle. It would have whipped cream topping. It cost close to $170 with taxes and everything. Picking it up on the day of May 21st, which is a Monday around 10 am. Although it wasn't completely ready yet because they wanted to make sure I actually come pick it up and put the final layer on top. It is a HUGE cake. The cake is soooo big and heavy, the guy offered to bring to my car, which was really sweet. I waited longer than I should and they offered me a drink on the house but I declined cause I had to pick up another cake after this. When we celebrated at work, I can say that this cake was the most popular. Decoration is on point and everyone loved! A co-worker asked me where could she buy it from cause she is from California and it reminded her of the bakeris back home. Thank you Angel Bakery for making a great experience at work. People are still talking about it till this day. 48/2018

So much effort that went into decorating this cake! Really appreciate it

Probably my favorite place to get Asian birthday cakes with fruit. They have the best price for it so far as I know, it's BEAUTIFULLY decorated, and absolutely delicious! I also have a go-to drink when I'm not ordering cakes, and that's the strawberry smoothie with lychee topping. My mom likes going here for their pastries. It never disappoints!

In this world nothing is certain, but death and taxes... and my mom getting my birthday cake from Angel Bakery every December. This Vietnamese bakery is located inside Hong Kong Supermarket (on the right-hand side of the store in the little food court area). They offer a variety of sweet and savory breads, buns, cookies, and tarts in addition to their cakes. You'll definitely want to order the cakes in advance for the advantage of being able to specify design/colors and also to ensure availability. My Viet family will only buy this type of cake, where the cake is spongy, like angel food cake, and the icing is barely sweet with a consistency similar to that of room temperature Cool Whip. Some of my friends think that this cake isn't sweet enough, but my whole family loves it and I'm addicted. I've been known to eat half a cake in one sitting. No shame. No regrets. The quality has been consistent year after year. I love the traditional embellishments of cantaloupe and honeydew melon balls, strawberries, and icing roses. These cakes bring a sense of nostalgia to me and have become a part of our celebratory traditions.

The star of the show for me is the sfogliatelle. It's the one thing that keeps me coming back every single time. It's perfectly flaky on the outside with the most delicious filling inside. The staff is always friendly, the bakery is clean, and the atmosphere is so inviting. I also love that it's located in The Forum, so after grabbing a coffee and a pastry, you can spend some time walking around the shops. My only wish is that they had a few more outlets available. It would be the perfect place to bring a laptop, enjoy a coffee and pastry, and get some work or studying done for a couple of hours.

The space is beautiful and the patio is large, and all the food looks incredible. However when we went inside it was cramped, loud and chaotic, The woman behind the counter did not speak a word to us, only seemed intent on getting us through the line. The interaction with staff will make or break a place like this. We quickly picked two filled doughnuts and rushed to the register. I about fell over when she asked for $14.40! Have we all lost our minds?! So a dozen doughnuts is $84?? No thanks. Enough is enough with average experiences being ridiculously overpriced. At home, the product lacked flavor and freshness. We were disappointed and considered these a waste of money.

I like the interior of the cafe as it reminds me a bit of Stylenanda in Korea (pink!). I can't speak on the drinks, only the pastries and cakes, and yeah, they're good! Probably shouldn't leave any pastries with fruit longer than a few hours since it'll get soggy though. We had a few birthdays to celebrate, and Confections was the go-to choice to for a lot of people this year. Not too sweet cream with fruit and fluffy cake, it was perfect for many in our group. The only cake I would not recommend that I've tried would be the Dubai chocolate cake. Not only is it more expensive, it's smaller than the other offered cakes. As a cake, it doesn't quite match up to Dubai chocolate strawberry cups that you can get elsewhere. The kunafa loses its crispiness being sandwiched between cake, and there isn't much pistachio flavor. I would've expected pistachio cream, but there really wasn't any on this cake. There are more strawberries on the strawberry cream cake, which fair, makes sense, but the Dubai cake wasn't as amazing as it sounded. Just tall. Good thing we had another cake from Confections that day since it was a joint birthday.

Things you should know: I. PARKING…read more Confections Bakery & Cafe is within a plaza and shares a free public parking lot with the adjacent businesses directly out front. Easy. II. SERVICE This bakery allows a cake reservation for special occasions as well as a self-service oven for pastries you want to heat up and enjoy while dining in. III. QUALITY Competitive with surrounding bakeries. They don't disappoint. IV. CAPACITY Less busy on week days during business hours. There's outlets everywhere along the walls and so it's an ideal location to knock out work in peace.
