100% satisfied, cerakote came out exactly as I imagined! + Best price in LA county, I checked several shops which quoted me an arm and a leg. This shop has amazing prices and provides excellent quality! + Excellent quality cerakote! Sent pictures of how I wanted it to look and couldn't be happier! + Good turn around time and easy to get ahold of them/setting up drop off/pick up. Will definitely continue to work with them for future projects! :) Glock 48 was originally all FDE. I had the slide cerakoted black and frame cerakoted Green! Came out perfectly! Pictures don't do it full justice, in person green is actually a bit darker than my broken phone can capture

Living in Los Angeles it was hard to find a good reputable company that does custom work. I found Angel City online and made an appointment with Roland. On my first appointment I knew he was the guy I was going to have work on my Glock. Very knowledgeable, experienced, and helpful. He gave my glock back complete and I was blown away with the results. I couldn't be any happier with the work they did for me. Absolutely will be coming back in the near future with another project. Many thanks to Angel City.

Had a Glock 34 needing some porting work to be done to it, texted Rowland and he just told me to come by to drop off the gun, thinking my gun will be out for a week or 2, but no, the milling machine just happened to be freed up and he asked if I could wait 10mins for the barrel to be done, in 10mins it was completed, super clean work and very professional, doing everything he can to the customer's wants/needs, I HIGHLY recommend going to Angel City Armory for all of your firearm customization.

I have been going to Roland's shop for years. His work is top notch. He offers so much at Angel City Armory at a great price. He's priced competitively with some of the popular gunsmithing services and is local to the LA area. He's worked on my Glocks, Beretta, CZ, M&P, and AR-15 and will be taking more of my stuff over there to get more optic cuts, serrations, porting, cuts, cerakote, and DLC. The cherry on top is he and his family are very nice, a different vibe from any other overtly macho (often fuddy) gunsmithing service and is on top of their game offering the most modern work and surprisingly offers optic cuts that literally just announced at shotshow. It's almost like he has personal relationships with all these companies and is in tune with the industry. I love AC Armory and trust my life with their services as I carry their work as my EDC CCW

Roland recommended their Hybrid Pro stippling (half laser, half hand stipple) and double undercuts, and I'm glad I chose that.

2nd 5-star Review:…read more I'm in love with GUNS DIRECT. I LOVE THIS PLACE AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE I ALWAYS GET HERE. Since my first purchase, I've returned for a rifle with a fixed mag, which I learned before picking up I could have converted to "featureless", so I could use replaceable mags. I asked Ramiro about this, and that's how I learned Ramiro is an armorer, and he walked me through the conversion. He sold me what I later found was the best featureless grip handle on the market, and then he completed the conversion for free with my purchase of the grip handle, and my 2 new replaceable mags. I've really appreciated Ramiro's advice, insights, and the personal experience Ramiro has shared with me , which has all turned out to be valid and true. I have the bruises to prove it. I wanted a KSG. That's how I found GD. Thats how I met Ramiro. He didn't lie to me. He warned me about the recoil on a pump action shotgun like the KSG. I said I'd get used to it. He asked if I was sure. I said "I have to." So not only did he sell me a KSG, he stopped me from getting the scratched unit I was looking at, and got me a blemish-free KSG. As a newbie with no mentor to walk me into this world, I was willing to just buy whatever a knowledgeable salesman would sell me, simply accepting that a scratch was just how firearms sales can sometimes be--but Ramiro didn't let that happen. Ramiro really has been a great guide. He helped me pick my first 9mm--S&W M&P 2.0-and it's such a great firearm. It's solid. Reliable. Accurate. Comfortable. Looks cool. Comes with switchable grips. I bought Trijicon night sights on Amazon, and took over a month to make my way to GD for the install, only to find I had bought sights for the wrong S&W 9mm. Since it had been over 30 days, I couldn't return them, but Ramiro not only found me an alternative option (Ameriglo optic compatible GRM tritium) night sights--but also included the install with the purchase. I love my new Ameriglo night sights on my M&P 2.0 9mm! What a difference. And great bang for your buck. And they are optic-ready sights, so I can add the red dot later on. I appreciated being guided so knowledgeably. I follow Ramiro's lead confidently. And while I was there doing this, Ramiro asks me if I had with me the adapters that came with the streamlight I had on my 9mm, because he was offering to fix the streamlight I improperly installed on my 9mm (which was sticking out too far). I did not have them, so he offered to fix it for me if I just brought the adapters. I really appreciated Ramiro's offer, but more importantly I appreciated him pointing out to me my improper installation. I soon realized I could fix it myself. I've since fixed it, and I have yet again Ramiro to thank. To be clear, every single rep at GD has been helpful and totally professional. I've really appreciated the service I've received. Alonso, Danny, Jerry, Sherri, Alex all super helpful professionals. Alonso and Danny both remembered my name, which is shocking because this place is popular. I love love love Guns Direct. My gun shop for life! I already have my eye on two more firearms, and Jerry even has me thinking about a revolver. And Ramiro makes me want a semiautomatic shotgun. I love it!

First time buyer and also I did my FSC here…read more This was the closest gun store and I was interested in having my own firearm. I did some research myself and have gone to ranges so I had an idea of what I wanted and what I needed to do. When I arrived, the store is in a small lot and looks a bit hidden and old. Only one room I think had AC but that was where I took my test and spent my whole time in. It's not very assuming or a luxurious place, but it has a charm and very honest feel to it. The staff there were friendly, patient, and helpful (The 2 ladies that helped me were, Tami and I didn't get the name of the other lady, but she felt like the owner). They were both very knowledgeable, honest, and transparent with their answers and recommendations, and I didn't feel pressured for anything. I was given a few firearms to try that I talked to them about and a few that they recommended. They also said anything that they did not have in store, they could order for me and did their best to accommodate or find something similar for me to feel out. They had a wide assortment of firearms, at least in my eyes, and what they kept stocked made sense. I didn't look through the whole store and everything they had, but I will tomorrow. From what I browsed and saw while I walked in and around, they have many standard picks and accessories that make sense to get in person, and a few interesting pieces. Larger items or more common items, like safes, they were very transparent and said they did not stock and that it's better to find one online, which made sense business wise. I like that they understood what is feasible for them to stock and what not to; both for their interest of keeping their inventory moving, but also to not peddle something that the customer wouldn't want or be satisfied with. I was shown everything in great detail and kindly. I made my purchase and was given instruction on what to do, what to expect, and a time frame for when I can pick things up. For my FSC, I got clear instruction, some helpful preface, and then the paperwork was straightforward and simple. I was guided for it to be as smooth as possible. I got my card and everything done and the prices were as expected and fair. I will update my review if anything changes, but considering the positive experience and friendliness of the staff, I don't think I will have anything to update. I don't know enough about prices for different models and ammo to split hairs on that, and this is a local small business, so it doesn't make sense coming here with the expectation of below market prices. The price range on the models I looked at seemed to be around the ballpark range of what I saw online for MSRP. I'm sure you could look around and get quotes to find things cheaper, but considering this is a local business and near me, I'm not coming here to try to haggle for the lowest price. I care more for the experience and personal interaction. With that said though, I also don't like small businesses that don't keep prices competitive with the rest of the market. I think this business does a fair job with it. As I mentioned before, the items I looked at, I did some research on, and the prices were in the ballpark of what I saw online which is a great indication. For what I purchased, it came as a set and luckily for me, was also on sale, so I feel my purchase was actually on the better price range.

I was refused service here after the owner flat-out accused me of possessing an illegal federally…read moreregulated SBR, which is not only wrong, but an embarrassing level of wrong for someone running a gun store for 42 "effin" years as he so confidently told me. Laughable that a person can be doing something this long and still not know what the eff they are talking about. An upper receiver is not a firearm under federal law (27 CFR § 478.12), is not serialized, and is not regulated on its own. Barrel length by itself does not magically create an SBR. An SBR determination requires a rifle with a shoulder stock and a barrel under 16 inches (26 U.S.C. § 5845(a), (c)). That determination depends entirely on the serialized lower receiver--which in my case is a legally owned and DOJ-registered semi-automatic pistol, not a rifle, and is configured to be California compliant under California Penal Code § 30515. This is basic, entry-level firearms law. Being incorrect is one thing. Being aggressively, confidently incorrect--and then doubling down when you clearly have no idea what you're talking about--is something else entirely. Instead of listening or checking the law, the owner insisted I was committing a serious federal felony and spoke to me in a hostile, unprofessional manner and cursed at me, all while in front of other patrons. Embarrassing for him to say the least. This is peak FUDD behavior: outdated knowledge, refusal to learn, and ego over facts. Shops like this don't just inconvenience customers--they actively spread misinformation that can get people in real trouble, especially in California. If you've been "in the business for 42 years" and still don't understand the difference between an upper receiver, an SBR, and a compliant AR pistol, that's not experience--that's willful ignorance. Do yourself a favor and avoid gun stores that let pride replace competence.
