I have thought long and hard about posting this review. I truly am a huge supporter of any local business, but the end result was too disappointing. I have to leave this review. I try to support small local businesses whenever I can, especially ones in my own neighborhood. In early January I stopped into Addax Tactical while I was out riding my e-bike with my dog. The staff were friendly, they were cool about my dog being there, and they even let me bring my bike inside. My first impression was positive. A little later I went back to order a rifle. I wanted a Henry Big Boy .357 Lever Action Rifle. They didn't have it in stock, and I was told it would take about two to three weeks to arrive because the SHOT Show convention was coming up. While doing the paperwork, I also decided to purchase a Ruger 10/22 so I could complete both purchases with a single background check. I left a deposit of about $1,200 toward roughly $2,000 total for the two rifles. Both rifles are very standard models that most gun stores typically have available or can obtain quickly. I could have easily purchased them elsewhere, but I made a deliberate choice to support a smaller shop in my neighborhood and was willing to wait the extra couple of weeks. Based on the timeline I was given, I expected the rifles to arrive by late January and to have them in my possession by mid-February after the required 10-day waiting period. That didn't happen. After three weeks I called to check on the order. Nothing had arrived yet. I waited another week and called again. Still nothing. The responses were always very casual, with little explanation other than that the rifles had been ordered. Around six weeks into the process, I was told the Ruger had arrived but they hadn't called because they assumed I wanted to pick up both rifles at the same time. I went in immediately and started the paperwork to take possession of the Ruger. During that visit I learned something that had never been mentioned before: the Henry rifle had not actually shipped yet, and the shop generally places firearm orders in batches rather than ordering individual rifles. This was the first time I had heard that, even though the original estimate had been two to three weeks. At that point I agreed to upgrade to the octagonal-barrel version of the Henry since I had always wanted that model anyway, and I was told the change would not affect the delivery timeline. After the 10-day waiting period I picked up the Ruger and again asked about the Henry. The answer was still that it had not arrived yet. By this point we were about eight weeks into the process, with no clear timeline. About a week later I called again and received the same answer. At that point I decided to cancel the Henry order and request a refund. I was told the refund would come from accounting and that I should expect a check in two to three weeks. After two weeks I called again and was told it could take up to 30 days. I eventually went to the shop in person to check on the refund. This time I was told I could not bring my bike or dog inside, even though I had been there several times before with both and it had never been an issue. Eventually I received a call saying the refund check had arrived. For the sake of transparency, I'm writing this from memory without the receipts directly in front of me, so the dollar amounts may be off by a few dollars either way, but the numbers below are very close to what was paid and refunded. When I picked up the check, the amount returned was about $370 out of the roughly $1,200 deposit I had paid. That means that after roughly 12 weeks, the final outcome of this transaction is that I effectively ended up with a $830 Ruger 10/22 -- a rifle that typically sells for a few hundred dollars at most gun shops. Even assuming some type of restocking fee, it's difficult to understand how that result makes sense, particularly for a rifle that, according to the shop, had not even shipped yet when I cancelled the order. I went into this purchase specifically because I wanted to support a small neighborhood business like Addax Tactical and was willing to wait longer than usual to do so. Unfortunately, after the delays, the lack of clear communication about how orders were handled, and the final refund outcome, the entire experience ended up being extremely frustrating. If you're considering ordering a firearm here, my advice would simply be to make sure you clearly understand the ordering process, timeline expectations, and refund policies before leaving a deposit. Posting this simply to document my experience so other customers know what to expect when placing a special order here. read more

The dude that came out the back stating "I cannot dry fire, only at the range" ruined the sell 100% Im a trigger guy, so going from glock universe to other triggers is a big deal. All the employees there are like family and really take an interest in the customer and their needs. The guys have it down; great customer service, super knowledgeable, and extremely friendly. I'd be comfortable here getting my first firearm or as someone who has a few. These guys rock. Addax Tactical is located in San Fernando and has plenty of parking. The location of the store is great. The firearms and services the store offers are however overpriced. Customer service has also always been unsatisfactory. The employees just don't appear to be happy to assist you. I have been there plenty of times now and i can say that the same gun i wanted to purchase from them i found cheaper at Turner's or GunsLa. Today was my last time giving Addax Tactical another try. I had a gun that i was selling and when i walked in i was told it was by appointment only. The employee was completely free and there were two other employees inside. I literally looked around the store and saw it was empty and the employee told me that the gun transfer would take awhile and they had an appointment coming up in 20 minutes. I asked why it was appointment only and they said it's been like this since Covid happened..... (eyes rolled hard). I immediately walked out and looked up PD gun supply which is a few blocks away. PD Gun Supply is a tiny firearms shop with a single employee who is the owner. I called and he said come right now. I showed up and sold the gun, i couldn't have been in the store for more than 3 or 4 minutes. I honestly wish Addax Tactical had better customer service and the employees weren't as incompetent. The business owner who made the gun transfers by appointment only.... Such an awful idea. I have 0 pleasure of leaving a negative review for this business because i am a strong second amendment believer. read more

Had to find an FFL in a pinch to accept my ammo and rifle oder and of course no one wants to provide FFL info for someone who didn't order from their store.. which is sad because when you order a rifle to a store it can breed so many future sales opportunities for that business. Addax kindly accepted my orders, provided FFL info, and have had amazing communication with me on the orders. So much so that I'm giving a 5 star review before I even picked anything up. Transfer fees and other pricing might be higher than most, but so is the service. You get what you pay for! Will write a follow up review, but so far so good. Rating for communication only Haven't yet had the pleasure of stopping by Addax so my rating is simply based on there prompt and great communication. I've been looking for parts for a build so I've been emailing/calling around other shops with little luck on the phone(understandable) and slow or no communication through email, with a couple suggesting I come without letting me know if they have what i needed even though they require and appointment which would be a waste of both my and their time. I had an excellent experience with Lollie and her guys after being treated poorly by Adam's Armory in Santa Clarita. I called Addax Tactical about a rifle I wanted and Lollie took the time to research its availability and then she held the only one she had in stock for me. When I arrived, I was greeted by Chris and received some of the best customer service I've had in a gun shop. I've had quite a few negative experiences in gun stores and at gun shows. I'm not sure what it is about some gun dealers but they have a sort of chip on their shoulder...NOT Addax Tactical. They are super down to earth and very knowledgeable. Came here for a PPT, was treated well. To be honest, not the fastest PPT ever, but I enjoyed chatting with the gentleman that was helping us out. Plenty of parking in front. It's a small shop inside, but they have a fairly decent selection of goodies for the limited real estate. Competitiveness of pricing varies, but I will say that I saw what appeared to be some pretty good prices in there - $500 for a Glock 19/22, $500 for a Century C308, etc. All in all, I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for a FFL/LGS in this area. read more

I had to drop my review to one star for the owner saying my statements are not based in reality when in fact I've bought 4 firearms from Addax Tactical. Each time I told myself I would not return but the young gun nut in me did not learn my lesson the first time. Secondly he claims that they disclose the fact of whether firearms is brand new or a showroom model, you don't you are more than comfortable taking peoples money for a worn down product that they payed premium prices for . Why I don't know maybe cause you run a greedy business leading to my third point which clarifies the care you have or in this case lack, not only for customers by the firearms community entirely. You lie and take, hoping no one catches on until they drop the question as they watch your employ bag up they're "new" gun right off the wall. Which begs the customer to ask the question, "is this showroom model for me or is he just putting it away cause they're out of stock?" And to the dismay of the customer after paying primo price and signing your clauses and agreements, they find the wall model is what they paid for. You don't offer to work with the customer in any way like perhaps ordering a NIB version of the firearm they thought they were getting, or a price reduction for the worn down floor model. Lying can take you a long way in business but honesty will take you farther here. Makes me wonder what else do you hide from customers. Oh and another thing he claims to have 150 firearms on display another lie , which I'm not mad about but can't figure out why lie about something so trivial, you have 80 firearm a lot of which is the same model firearm in different colors like your rainbow assortment of Walthers. First I just want to go on record that I have NEVER been inside this store before. This 5 star is about them communicating with me through email. They never once pressured me to just come in and buy during this BS we are going through, they always answer my questions. That tells me a lot. Unfortunately they are booked just like all the other shops in the county but again, fact that they reply not just with a simple "come by" tells that they value their customers. From my reviews you can tell my store Martin B Retting in Culver City for the simple fact that NO gun store can beat their prices but that may change soon. Gun World, Guns Direct, Burbank Ammo and guns unfortunately gave me the wrong vibe and don't get me started on Turners because F that place period.
