I have been spending my hard earned money at this nail salon for nearly 3 years. I've been very satisfied with the job and the personality and attitude of my former nail tech Irene I highly recommend her. However, the management and Henry the nail tech have very poor attitudes and horrible customer service I had noticed during the time I was there that the staff often seemed disgruntled and unfriendly even with each other today, I walked in, was not greeted was not told to pick a color or to even have a seat after sitting there for 20 minutes being ignored another customer of a different race walks in and is instantly greeted and told to pick a color. When I was finally given service, the nail technician, Henry had a very negative energy in a negative vibe like he did not want to do my pedicure mind you, I am very cheerful, always keep my appointments, and a decent tipper So, I'm not the typical customer that a business would not want to wait on. After asking Henry to be a little more gentle with the way, he was squeezing my toes, taking the acrylic off. He became annoyed. The owner jumped to his defense, saying that he didn't speak English very well as they sat and obviously chatted about the situation that was going on, and I could see he was getting more and more visibly annoyed. He abruptly gets up and he refuses to finish my feet the owner and I have a few words as I explained to her that the customer service at the salon was very poor siding incident, and that my money spins at any of the other thousand of salons Within the city of Pittsburgh. The owner after I had already began to get my pedicure had the audacity to ask me if I wanted to come back so that I could use my regular technician. Certainly that wasn't a viable solution thank goodness the evening was saved when a talented and friendly young male by the name of Andy volunteer to finish my nails. I have never had such a poor experience that left me crying and feeling like a second class citizen in my life. I will never go go into this shop again and highly suggest that they have some training done on how to make customers feel valued. read more

This place had mixed reviews. But I needed an emergency job so I stopped in since I couldn't get return calls or appts elsewhere. This time I got ombré pink and white acrylic. I LOVED that it was not thick like others. It looks natural. We used a nude pink rather than any other pink. The downside, though, is that from a distance it looks good, but it's really not. There's uneven acrylic. Bubbles in polish. Is not shiny, even with top coat. The edges or side of the nails are sharp and in dire need of filing to smooth them. This is a very busy location so maybe they slows up their work to accommodate all, not sure. Appts recommended since it is extremely busy. I was a walk in and 6 more came after me within a half hour. They took everyone in quickly. I may go back for a fill but not sure if so a full set or artwork. Unsure who did my nails but I do see in other reviews Ben is recommend. read more

I had been searching for a nail salon when I passed by Angel Nail Spa on Banksville Rd. I consulted Yelp and decided to give it try. I had a good experience. The salon has about 5 pedicure chairs and about 6 stations for manicures. They were able to see me right away for a mani/pedi. They had a great selection of polish- OPI, Essie, etc. The OPI color that I had chosen was running short so they diluted it which makes me cringe but it didn't cause the polish to become thin. What I loved was that they had a box full of nail art tools- stripes, stickers, various colors. Rather than the lady who painted my nails to try her hand at the design that I wanted, a different lady who I presume was more skilled at design finished off my look. She used a small gold tape, rather than free handing lines, which I very much appreciated. Overall, my nails looked exactly how I wanted them to look. Two days after I left, there was a big chip on the end of one of my nails. I went in to ask if they could re-paint the corner and they did. I was very pleased with my $45 mani/pedi. read more

I called ahead and was told to come at 7 for a mani/pedi. I had the luxury pedicure which should've been a relaxing experience, however while I was having my feet scrubbed another tech came over and began working on my manicure while I wasn't even done with the pedi. The whole point of paying an up charge for the luxury pedi is to have a relaxing experience. Instead I was made to turn and twist like a contortionist while the tech doing my pedi was attempting to do a hot stone massage. I've been coming here since they opened and sadly after this experience I won't be coming back. I felt the manicure was rushed and this isn't how you treat customers and make them feel valued. If you can't do something within your business hours then just say you can't. Don't try to squeeze people in last minute and then rush through the services they are paying for. read more

So I have a regular place that I get my nails done but I needed a place close for somewhere to get my pedicures done on just a walk in basis and this place was pretty close to my house and had good reviews. The salon is extremely clean and well decorated. Very welcoming and also relaxing. I got a gel pedicure and was very pleased with it. I do feel like more time could have been spent on filing my feet but the girl who did my nails was so pleasant and did a great job painting them. One employee was doing my nails before traded me with another employee who continued to do my nails which was fine but my nails still look kinda dirty and as you can probably see there is still some polish on there from my acrylics and it looks kinda scratched. Also, this place is not very COVID safe. They don't require masks and they do not practice 6 ft social distancing. They had me sit right next to another woman who was not wearing a mask, which made me a little uncomfortable. Like if you don't want to mandate masks, fine, but at least practice some version of social distancing between customers. Good price tho. Was only like $22. Idk. Choose your battles I guess lol. The reviews were really good so I decided to head in for a full set of acrylics. I had let my nails go natural for a few months, but it was time. After the tech put the nails on me there were about 3 nails that were slightly crooked... but my left pointer nail she put on at pretty much a 60 degree angle. It was ridiculous. When I asked her about it she said it was the way my finger was, not the nail. No, she just didn't want to redo it. But she did, and surprise surprise it was not my finger. I just let the other crooked ones go, they weren't that serious and I didn't want to sit there any longer. They turned out good enough. I got a matte gel finish, which chipped within a couple days. They accept cards, but you must tip in cash. There's an ATM on site, but of course has a fee to use. Would not go back. read more

Aside from the lack of customer service skills that my nail tech possessed, I loved my nails. I got a regular acrylic fill with gel polish and a few unique designs. While she was able to accommodate my request,it is now only 2 days later and I have 2 chipped nails which completely defeats the purpose of gel polish. Unfortunately I did not have a good experience having my nails done last month. I went in for a basic polish manicure since I was having engagement photos taken the following day. The technician could not communicate with me and I ended up with painful, sore and bleeding cuticles which I've never experienced before. Another technician had to step in to finish the manicure and was helpful. So let me start this review by admitting something, I'm a chronic nail biter who NEVER had my nails done. My cuticles were frightening and my fingernails were horrendous stubs. I decided to get my nails done for my wedding. I originally set up an appointment over a week in advance with Nailchíc in Potomac Avenue. Someone answered the phone and asked "gel or acrylic?," I answered "Gel." She seemed rushed and hung up. I assumed the would be able to add small tips and make my nails look nice. When I showed up for my appointment, they turned me away because they were unable to add tips because they were overbooked. I was really upset and felt like crying. Angel Nails came to my rescue and got me an appointment. My nails are absolutely perfect! The women who worked on me were experts. They didn't nail shame me either. They have converted me! I've decided to put a stop to my lifetime of nail biting. I deserve to have nice nails. I will continue to treat myself by getting pampered at Angel Nails. read more
