The one cavity I have in my mouth has been giving me issues. The most recent: a piece of the tooth chipped off about a week before I was supposed to take off to Europe. And wouldn't you know it, my usual dentist was on vacation. A good friend referred me to his dentist, Dr. Angela Ayzin. He spoke of her with rave reviews, from skill, to cost, to cleanliness and personality. Dr. Ayzin lived up to my friend's raves and beyond. For starters when I called the office she answered her own phone. What dentist does that? 'My staff is at lunch and the phone rang,' she explained. And she took the time to listen to my situation. And made an appointment for me a few days later. The office is easy to park in. Small town vibes. Sylvia and Claudia (I feel like I may have gotten one of those names wrong -- will update), front office and hygienist were both incredibly courteous and efficient. Dr. Ayzin entered and took a brief history before looking at my x-rays. Her advice was to simply be careful while on my trip, because while the chip was significant, it wasn't threatening enough to do an emergency procedure. And to follow up with my dentist when both he and I are back in town. When she speaks, her passion for the art of dentistry comes through clearly. There is a joy to the way she describes things, and she understands the nuances of dentistry but can explain them in simple, yet precise language. Takeaways: root canals have gotten a bad name because most people get them after waiting too long, and people chew a little like giraffes, more of a gnash / grind than a linear up and down. She even took the time to draw diagrams for me, explaining what was going on in my mouth. Note: I'm not sure if this service is offered to everyone. The visit was finished off with a few samples of remineralizing toothpaste and instructions to use it as a cream, to be applied with a finger, not a toothbrush. Also, the office is not purple. We've been patients of dr Ayzin for many years a big family of 7, we had recently switched over to another dentistry closer to home and we learned that the relationship there was nothing compared to Dr. Angelas office. My youngest needed some treatment done and we just didn't feel comfortable with having that work done at the new location. So we went back to Dr. Angela and ofcourse she was treated with such care my daughter is so excited to be back to her original dentist . Dr. Ayzin and her staff are the most friendly and personable dental team I have ever visited. I actually look forward to going to the dentist. They're like friends and family. Dr. Ayzin is highly skilled and gentle (strong when she's pulling teeth XD). When I need a complicated procedure like a root canal or implant, she sends me to one of her team of excellent specialists. I have had general dentists in the past who thought they could do anything and I suffered the consequences. Parking in the back is a fun roller coaster ride as well LOL! For starters, I hadn't seen a dentist before Dr. Ayzin for nearly 14 years. Not that I had any fear of dentists but rather I just didn't like dentists at all. Dr. Ayzin understood this and did not take any offense; her goal was to ensure I was cared for and that I would not neglect dental treatments for another 14 years. After my initial examination with her, she had some recommendations for treatments and then proceeded to ask me how I would like to proceed. She realized quickly that I wanted to be a part of the decision making process in my dental care. I no longer live in the Eagle Rock/Glendale area and my family and I commute the ~40 miles to have our checkups with Dr. Ayzin. My wife had cracked a filling (eating items she was instructed to stay away from) and she was urged to come in right away without an appointment. Dr. Ayzin fit my wife into her busy schedule and went above and beyond to help. My family and I highly recommend Dr. Ayzin. She is completely vested in her patient's dental health and her staff follow her lead in providing great care to the patients. read more

Dr. Angela is the best dentist I've ever seen. She has 2 offices, one in Glendale and one in Eagle Rock, I have been to both. Both offices are very clean, never overly busy and I am seen right away. Parking is never an issue. I have seen her about 8 times now, and the first time I saw her, she set up a program to do everything I needed, which included a deep cleaning, multiple filling replacements and an extraction of a small wisdom tooth. If you haven't seen a dentist in awhile, it can be daunting, however Angela and her staff are so sweet and laid out a plan for me that was easy to deal with. Not only that, I look forward to seeing everyone at the office....I mean who looks forward to going to the dentist...like ever?? They all have a wonderful sense of humor and are completely non-judgmental of any bad habits. I'm a smoker. I also don't floss as much as I should. Not ONCE was I lectured about this. We are all aware of our bad habits and you will not be tapped on the nose in Angela's office :) One thing that is amazing, is her talent with the novocaine needle. I don't even feel it! She's a magical fairy I tell you!!! Not to mention, she is quick and thorough. My biggest issue and why I have not seen a dentist regularly, throughout the years, is time off work. It's difficult finding a dentist that takes evening and Saturday appointments. THANK YOU Angela for catering to the hard working class! If I could give a 6th star for Angela's adorable father I would! He is a witty and lovely gentleman, that does not take any new patients, however, please do make a point to meet him when you go, he is wonderful :D Oh and a 7th star...for the bag of delicious walnuts that they gave us for our rescue squirrel today...Spooky the Squirrel is thrilled!!! I have been going to Dr. Ayzin's Eagle Rock office for nearly 10 years. The office staff is very nice. What I especially like about Dr. Ayzin is that she does the primary cleaning herself, as part of her 'inspection' - rather than delegating it to an assistant. The assistant does take care of final polishing. She does not believe in doing unnecessary x-rays, and will not recommend a product or process that she has not tried herself. She explains what she is doing and why, without being overly chatty. Very pleasant, very professional. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Ayzin for 7 years and I loved how close she was to me and how she was always available. But as the years went on for my 6 month check ups, she wanted to me to have an implant done on an old root canal. I then got a second option and they told me to retreat the root canal and there was no need for an implant. Not happy with her work anymore; she's more money hungry than taking care of her patients teeth. read more

This dental office is AMAZING! Dr.Angela is my dentist and she has always treated me with such kindness. She truly loves what she does and it shows when she treats her patients. She has taken time to explain any steps necessary when discussing treatment needed, all while making me feel safe and comfortable. I would not go to any other dental office. The staff is so friendly Claudia is so helpful and always greets you with big bright smiles. My daughter who is 6 years old is also a patient here. When it's time for her check up she jumps with excitement and cannot wait to go the dentist. This just shows how great Dr. Angela and her staff are amazing with children. If i could give 10 stars, I would. While that's probably enough said, I'll go on... I'll also preface this by sharing the fact that I'm a tough crowd when it comes to doctors. Never had a good one, don't like going to them - but Dr. Angela turned me around. In the past 3 weeks, I've had two dental "emergencies", or non-routine visits. I actually found her because of the first incident involving my wisdom tooth. I needed to be seen immediately, and she referred me to a really nice surgeon for a consultation. Yesterday, a filling from my teen years fell out and needed to be replaced. She saw me first thing today and took care of it for me. Honestly, this evening, I cant tell at all that I went to the dentist today, received anesthesia, and a filling replacement. Not only is the bite PERFECT, but I'm experiencing absolutely no pain whatsoever. She also had it done in about 35-40 minutes. Nailed it. For both incidents, Dr. Ayzin saw me right away and took such good care of me, knowing that I had anxiety about going to the dentist and being in pain. She's awesome at what she does, explains everything to you very clearly, answers all your questions, calms your nerves, and also has an awesome personality/sense of humor. She's hilarious to chat with. While she only took 40 minutes on my filling today, I was there for an extra 20 or so chatting with her and the staff, who are also amazing. The receptionist had to go through hoops to verify my insurance for the first "emergency", and was so patient with me about it. The dental assistant, Claudia, is so sweet and gentle. Loved chatting with her too. If you're looking for a dentist, I can't recommend Dr. Angela enough. I feel so lucky to have found her shortly after I moved to LA. I go to the Eagle Rock office, and both times I felt so welcomed. They're really warm people that make a not so pleasant experience not so big a deal. Thanks Dr. Angela!!! read more

This was the best experience I have had with a Los Angeles Dentist. I have been to about a dozen since I moved here 23 years ago, but hadn't found one I liked. This Dr. and her staff are very nice. Dr. Ayzin spent a lot of time with me to get to know what my dental health is. She did not try to push me to do expensive procedures, and is taking a wait and see approach to issues other dentists tried to get me to immediately shell out a lot of money for.
