After a previous visit elsewhere that was very aggressive and left both me and my son feeling anxious, I was honestly nervous coming in but that quickly changed. Our nurse Jasmin was truly incredible! She's kind, patient, and understanding with my 3 year old son. It genuinely felt like she has specific training or a special gift for working with children, because her approach was unlike anything I've seen at other offices. She took her time, never rushed, and kept trying in such a gentle, reassuring way. Dr. Janjik was just as wonderful. She was kind, gentle, and calming. Passive aggressive dentist. Dr. Kang displayed passive aggressive behavior toward my 6 year old son. He grew so incredibly frustrated at having to repeat himself a 3rd time because my son was having a hard time understanding if he was holding a mirror or another tool in his hand. There was no mistaking that interaction... 100% passive aggressive. Nearby staff even turned around to look. He didn't stop and think that maybe it's not a listening issue. My son is six and autistic. He was scared. Spare us the reprimands of "not listening" and try showing a little grace. No one should work with children in any capacity if they get so easily upset. This place pushes for a RIDICULOUS amount of volume each day so it feels like you're on a conveyor belt as you move throughout the office. It's chaotic to say the least. I will say every experience that I've had with the ladies who clean teeth prior to the dentist (hygienists/assistants? Not sure of the title) are so incredibly kind. Jasmine took care of my son and was patient, sweet, and explained everything to him. No joke, this woman is a literal angel. They are all amazing. Dr Kang could learn a lot about bedside manner from the staff. Also, expect to be BOMBARDED by calls confirming appointments you already confirmed or notifying you that you're due for an appointment even after you ask them to stop calling. They run on time, the staff and doctors are friendly and professional, and they take Medi-Cal. They have movies playing so the kids aren't jumping out of their seats. Great place. It was my son's very first dentist visit. My son is in his terrible 2's. My wife and i were expecting an epic tantrum. We walked into the office to find it full of fun distractions for our son. There were fun murals, 2 ipad stations, and an aquarium. My son loved it. We were seen after a short 5-10 min wait. The staff were so fun and knowledgeable. My kid had a cleaning in 10 minutes, NO TANTRUM! My wife and i were amazed. The staff did an excellent job explaining to us about the tools and procedures while making my son comfortable. The front desk patiently assisted us and answered all our questions with care. From x-rays to the check up, everything went smoothly thanks to the well trained staff. The kids received little gifts for their cooperation. Unfortunately, the treatment that my child needed wasn't covered by our healthcare plan. All of these good reviews cannot be real. I decided to take my daughter back here after previously having a bad experience a few years back. I'm totally kicking myself and should've known better. The first incident traumatized my kid. She had teeth extracted and spacers put in and though the nurses were kind, the doctor did not try to comfort her in any way but was more concerned with getting her to cooperate and get the procedure over with. Fast forward to yesterday, we need to get those spacers removed as her new teeth are starting to erupt, well one has and is starting to cause pain. The female dentist sits down and begins to assess my 8yo daughter's mouth by feeling her spacers. She pulls and tugs at one and my daughter starts yelling in pain, "Ow that hurts, that hurts, THAT HURTS!" Three times and this woman finally takes her hands out of my daughter's mouth without even acknowledging the pain she had just caused her. My poor girl looks at me and starts bawling. The dentist rolls away in her chair and begins recommending procedures. I'm trying to console my girl and listen to the dentist and when I respond to whatever she was saying with my own suggestion she responded to me with "Well that's what I was saying!" We move on to removing the spacers. My daughter is now worked up (she already had major anxiety/tears just coming into the dentist). The dentist gives her an option on which spacer she'd like removed first. Of course my daughter chooses the one that isn't giving her pain first (the lower priority). As expected, the dentist pulls and tugs and I can see the spacer digging into the gums as she's angling it to wiggle it out. My daughter is shouting and crying in pain and I just feel so helpless as she squeezes my hand. Naturally, my daughter now refuses to get the other spacer out or do the teeth cleaning and begs me to take her home. I'm so glad I listened to her and didn't let that woman rip the other spacer out of her mouth. However, I still have to get this spacer out of her mouth immediately and convince her that all will be ok after yet ANOTHER traumatic experience. The lack of compassion for my baby and the rudeness toward me was absolutely mind-blowing. This place is always crowded and operates like a machine moving kids through with zero attention to how they're feeling. All of the sad faces walking back out into the waiting room should've said it all for me. This is your warning to keep your children out of this establishment if you don't want to cause them pain and traumatize them about the dentist for the rest of their lives. read more

I was recommended here and had high hopes as this was my babies first dentist appointment. I got there on time and they let me know the dentist was running 30minutes late & I said okay that's fine since I don't live near and had to drive a long way to get there. My baby is only 9months so I was hoping this experience would be new and fun for him. First, I had to diaper change him, I asked an assistant if there were any changing tables in the restrooms she said she wasn't sure. This then led me to go to my car change and feed my baby, just to find out later they actually do. Also, the place isn't stroller friendly FYI, to all moms with babies. They have a back entrance but you still need to lift your stroller to get in. Also, they asked you to leave the stroller outside due to space. Next, I told the dentist I didn't want to traumatize my baby of the dentist and her response was "well, he's not going to remember anyway". Obviously she's not a mother, and should not be working with kids. She was in such a rush to get to her lunch because I seen her outside when I was leaving. She told me he is going to scream and cry but I even asked her, "can we work with him and be patient? because If that's going to happen I'd rather just leave". She said okay we can try, and we literally tried for less than a MINUTE! And right away she just grabbed my son's mouth and forces opened it. My poor baby never experienced anything like this & I wanted it to end. I even told the nurse after that I doubt that we'll be back. I will go to new dentist until I find a patient dentist that cares more about their patients than their lunch. If you love your child, skip this place read more

I went in last month for my son's second dentist appointment. I hardly write negative reviews but I just had to share my thoughts on Yelp. We came into the appointment 20 minutes early and our appointment was at 11 am. I am a very patient person and we know my son can be patient for some time. As soon at it was 11:15 we asked the receptionist for an update and she said they would call us shortly. It was 11:40 and we had seen many patients come and go. People who came after us were called in. My husband went up to the receptionist again and asked for an update. It had been over an HOUR that we've been waiting and they hadn't seen us. I completely understand that people wait, but waiting over an hour at a children's dentist is terrible. Once my husband asked firmly to speak to a manager all of a sudden there was a room available. We told the receptionist we had seen people come in and immediately go inside. It's not like we were walk-ins. We left and will never go back. A few days later I got a call from their manager and she said the other people we saw go in were for orthodontics. Which I don't completely believe because some of them were toddlers. This place should be better organized and have better communication. Since the beginning we asked is our paperwork okay, can we get an update, etc nothing was said other than just wait from their staff. read more
