Dr. Pudinak demonstrated a high degree of patience, understanding, compassion, and care during my initial exam. Dr. Pudinak's listening skills are truly remarkable; she addresses each and every subject leaving nothing to be desired. Seemed ridiculous never had a doctor do that before but i moved on. I had received a call from their office saying i had covid the year prior and then when i called back to get proof for work, took multiple days to get any response. Very disappointed with the office as a whole, feels like a cash grab at every turn. To call someone 3 years later for a no show fee after the individual and his spouse expressed disappointment with your office is crazy. Staff and doctor are very kind, don't get me wrong but you're going to pay more here then anywhere else. In my 35 years on this earth I've never had a primary care doctor request payment for a phone call during regular business hours. It is also worth mentioning that i was not advised ahead of time that there was a fee for a phone call with blood work results, we were told we don't need to come in she will call with results and then they requested payment before giving us information. Paying for a 2 minute phone call feels ridiculous, calling for a no show fee 3 years later is even more obscene.

I'm currently out on maternity leave, and being turned away in front of other patients made me feel humiliated and brought me to tears. I understand that offices have policies, but the lack of compassion and flexibility was deeply upsetting. On another day, I had an appointment scheduled for 1:30 p.m. However, because the staff went back and forth with me about my balance and the receptionist failed to mention beforehand that I needed to list the doctor as my primary care provider, my check-in process was delayed. Then, I was told the office would be closing for lunch and that I could either leave or wait. I asked why they would schedule an appointment for 1:30 knowing they go on break at 2:00, but I didn't receive a clear answer. Another receptionist stepped in and said it was because I was two minutes late -- again, I had my newborn with me and was delayed due to parking at the office building. Most places offer a small grace period, but here there was none. This was especially frustrating because these appointments are very important to me. I was preeclamptic during pregnancy and suffered from eclampsia postpartum, so I still have serious health concerns that need to be monitored. Despite that, I felt like my situation and efforts to make it to these appointments were not taken into consideration at all. I no longer live on Long Island -- I drive from Queens just to see Dr. McGeachy -- and I have been a patient here since early 2024. Unfortunately, this wasn't my first disappointing experience with Goal Family Medical. When I was one month postpartum, I was running a few minutes late due to the rain, and it was also my first time traveling from Queens (I used to live in Freeport). The receptionist called, and I told her I was only about four minutes away. She said "okay," but when I arrived, I was told my appointment had been canceled. She could have told me that over the phone, and I wouldn't have been upset. That was only my second time out with my newborn, and it was very upsetting to be treated that way. Overall, my recent experiences with this office have left me feeling unsupported, dismissed, and unvalued as a patient. I truly hope the management and staff at Goal Family Medical take steps to improve their communication, compassion, and understanding -- especially toward new mothers and patients dealing with ongoing health issues.

That's kinda how I feel about writing this in public domain but then again, a quality doctor is so hard to find. How else will you know if they're good unless the patient reviews?? I discovered Dr. Gershowitz by way of my Uncle. I know strange but my Uncle worked for Montefiore Medical Center for almost 25 years so when it came to doctors he always had the best resources. I've been going to Dr. Gershowitz for a few years now and after some pretty crappy OBGYN experiences, she is the best. Nice bedside manner and gets down to business. Prepares and explains everything she is going to do. Is thorough in her questioning and seems genuinely concerned about her patients well being. She will always give her honest opinion as a doctor, not as someone promoting a medication. Things to know: -The office line is usually busy. Keep trying. - Expect for it to be hard to get an appointment. When you call be prepared that your appointment may be scheduled weeks or even months in advance. -They don't take debit or credit card payments under $20 so if your co-pay is less, bring cash. -Dr. Gershowitz is perpetually late and sometimes disappears after your appointment even if she wants to talk to you. Be patient, schedule at least 60-90 minutes in your own calendar for your visit. Another secret tip, Dr. Gershowitz is quite liberal with BC samples. A nice plus.

And Dr. Gershowitz used to be very warm and seemed to care about your problems, but I went in a few months ago concerned about a potential STD and she brushed off my concerns saying my symptoms were "most likely" a result of my birth control. I insisted on being tested anyway, and luckily although they did come back negative for STDs, I did have a bacterial infection that would have gotten worse if I didn't treat it. It just frustrates me that my doctor, who has supposedly been in this field for a long time, would downplay legitimate concerns and symptoms. I felt like she was in such a rush to see other patients that my concerns were being treated like I just wanted attention. Then when I called for a follow-up appointment, I was told the next available was over 2 months away. Maybe this is just a NYC thing, but it's totally ridiculous to me that someone should have to wait TWO MONTHS to take care of their health. It's great she's so popular, but maybe she should limit taking new patients so she can actually take care of the ones she already has. I'm finding another gyno that actually has time for me.

During a discussion about a medication that I've been taking for over two years, I felt that she questioned my knowledge about the medication and used language that was extremely inappropriate and uncomfortable coming from a physician in a medical setting. Some of the terminology she used was also not medically or anatomically accurate. I expected a much more professional and respectful approach. It was particularly disappointing given my otherwise positive experiences with this practice over the years. I hope the practice takes feedback like this seriously and considers how physicians communicate with patients about sensitive topics.

This doctor has many kids and once interrupted my appt to speak to her kids school for an hour. Just rude. She will also give you any prescription you ask for.
