Specialties
Many of the people I work with are big-hearted, high-achieving women, as well as helpers, caregivers, therapists, creatives, and highly sensitive people who spend so much energy caring for others that they've lost touch with themselves. Through Expressive Arts Therapy and other evidence-based trauma therapies, I help people move beyond simply coping to reconnect with themselves in deeper, more lasting ways.
My approach goes beyond talk therapy by healing the whole person: emotional, physical, creative, and spiritual. I work with adults (18+) navigating trauma, childhood trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, burnout, people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-doubt, and relationship patterns.
With over 15 years of experience, I integrate Expressive Arts Therapy, Art Therapy, EMDR, Brainspotting, Parts Work (IFS-informed), somatic approaches, SoulCollage®, HeartMath®, and mindfulness, tailoring therapy to your unique needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all protocol. Whether you're feeling stuck despite years of insight or simply longing to feel more like yourself again, this work meets you where you are.
I offer therapy in English and Spanish (LMFT #86029), with in-person sessions in San Pablo, near Lafayette, and Berkeley, as well as telehealth throughout California.
In addition to my private practice, I train therapists and organizations in trauma-informed care and Expressive Arts Therapy. I'm also the creator of the Holistic Trauma Healing Card Deck and Journal.
History
Established in 2011.
Angela Luna Therapy was founded on the belief that healing is about more than talking through problems. After a decade in education, I became a therapist to help people heal through approaches that engage mind, body, and creative spirit. I earned a J.D. from UC Davis and a Master's in Expressive Arts Therapy from CIIS. For 15 years, I've specialized in helping adults heal from trauma, anxiety, burnout, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and relationship challenges using Expressive Arts Therapy, EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic approaches, mindfulness, and parts work. I also train therapists, educators, healthcare professionals, and organizations in trauma-informed care, and created the Holistic Trauma Healing Deck, a bilingual therapeutic card deck. Today, I offer in-person therapy in San Pablo and telehealth throughout California, helping clients move beyond surviving toward a connected, authentic, fulfilling life.
Meet the Business Owner: Luna L.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Expressive Arts Therapist, and trainer who believes healing happens when we reconnect with parts of ourselves we've had to hide or silence. Bilingual in English and Spanish, I believe therapy can be creative, experiential, and transformative, not just conversation. My approach integrates expressive arts, EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic therapies, mindfulness, and parts work to help people heal on emotional, physical, and creative levels.
Outside the therapy room, I'm a mixed media collage artist inspired by nature, community, and creativity. Those passions shape my work and remind me healing isn't one-size-fits-all. For 15 years, I've trained therapists, educators, and organizations in trauma-informed and expressive arts approaches, and created the Holistic Trauma Healing Deck. Whether working with one client or a room of clinicians, my goal is helping people move beyond surviving into lives that feel connected, meaningful, fully their own.
