I had a Chameleon pint which is an NE IPA. My wife had a Krisp pint. Both beers were very tasty and we enjoyed. The views are impressive as is the space itself. I was very impressed and this would be a great place to visit with a large group. We didn't eat here but may consider it in the future even with a basic menu. So my friend and I got our hibachi orders at the truck out front; ordered our beer and/or cider from the bar; and took everything to a table in Back Alley's dining area to enjoy. While the place wasn't packed it wasn't empty, either; families and groups of friends were playing board games at every other table or so. So, what did I think about the drinks? I'm really glad Back Alley had Arsenal Cider on tap - I ordered a glass as my "sweet treat"/dessert after dinner. First though, I decided to try a beer. Back Alley, if you see this: I'm a BIG fan of sour beers and would order those if they're on the menu in the future! As of now though, no sour beers, so I ordered a "Snowed In" - Back Alley's spiced winter ale. It was a dark beer with a blend of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, hence the "spiced" moniker. While not something I normally seek out, I really enjoyed it and am glad I tried it! Altogether, it was a 10/10 experience - I'm so glad my friend and I came here for our Friday together. It's always slightly tart and refreshing. It's perfect for the summertime, but I drink it all year round! The rotating food trucks are a much appreciated addition, as the brewery doesn't serve their own food. When the weather is cooperating, they seasonally have bands later in the week. The website is always up to date with events! The bartenders are very friendly and do their best to work through the lines as quickly as possible. It's beside Cafe Monaco and if it's busy good luck finding a spot nearby. I went mid day on a Sunday and after some circling the block found a nearby spot. I think the venue itself is very nice. It's fresh looking and inviting. Because it was one of the warm days recently they had the whole front opened up and that was nice. It seems to have a hometown client base, I say that because everyone seemed to know each other or at least someone else there. They had a food truck setting up when I was there but I don't try it. The selection, while not huge was solid. I decided to try a DIPA and a TIPA and both were decent. The folks working were accommodating. If I get back over that way I'll be sure to stop by and try another drink or two.
