Caliente pizza is a restaurant that serves food to eat. It is best to go during happy hour to save on beer and also look for their daily specials. The pepperoni rolls and the cheesy breadsticks are my favorite and I think the best they have to offer. I recently got a dinner salad that was very good, but also overpriced in my opinion. I find their pizza slightly above average for the price. The bear selection is very good, but like I said, go during happy hour. The service is usually pretty good, although a couple times we've been seated in the corner and I think forgotten about. We go here usually once a month because it is my son's favorite place to eat. So, been a few times never had any issues with the food. Only used takeout. There have been a few occasions where the girls answering the phones have major attitudes. Now I never say anything. I just let it go until this last time when I placed an order for something and it required me to choose a sauce, the website did not allow me to pick one it only let me choose no sauce as an option. OK no big deal so I figured I'd call. She answers the phone. I explained to her that the website wants me to pick a sauce, (for donuts)but it doesn't list them and before the attitude she says , "that's weird " as if I'm lying , she says well what sauce do you want? Well, clearly I don't know because they're not listed she says with another attitude, we have strawberry and chocolate like I'm supposed to know that! I picked up the food of course she did not say anything, but I'm 100% sure that it's the same girl. I did not get her name. She has shorter black hair, septum piercing. This girl needs a come to Jesus moment or quit she does not need to be working with the public. If you hate your job or the public then quit! there is no need to be taking your miserable little attitude out on other people when they're asking a legitimate question. Used to come to caliente often prepandemic for wings and the beer selection especially. First time since the pandemic and first time at the relatively new crafton location near where I work. $16 all you can eat wings on Tuesdays and $4 Great Lakes cans. Each day there is a special of some kind. The cool runnings sauce was exactly how I remembered it. The cry to mommy ghost pepper was sadly more mellow than I recall. Always compared the aroma to a stuffed pepper and heat that made you struggle a bit. This was way more mellow than I recall. Overall positive experience and attentive bartenders. Holy moly our pizza was huge! We wanted something a little different from our norm so we landed on the Grandma Sunseri. Our server was so kind as to customize half of the pizza so that I didn't have to pick off the black olives. There was a good crunch to the crust and the toppings complimented the pie wonderfully. We both ordered beers from quite a larger selection of both draft and cans/bottles (mine wasn't one that I was crazy about....but that's no fault of the Draft House). Very disappointed. $65 for a pizza and 10 wings. The pizza had all kind of extra junk on it and the wings were undercooked.

Having just arrived (flight was delayed) and staying at a hotel in the area, I came here on a Sunday night for dinner... There was only one other patron in the joint when I got there, about an hour before they closed. I sat at the bar and the bartender was helpful and friendly and explained the menu nicely... he also checked on me during my stay. The food was awesome! I really liked the fries that came with Cajun seasoning and ranch on them... I got a side of their extremely hot sauce, called "Cry to Mama" and that stuff was VERY HOTTTT!!!! But it wasn't just straight, silly heat, like so many other hot things, it had a very nice, smokey flavor to it too! I am glad I got it on the side though, as I was able to dip my fries in it, rather than deal with having it on all my fries (Tip: Get it on the side!!). I also ordered their Luca Brasi pizza, as I wanted a little flavor and spice for my pizza. I had been to a Caliente (the one in Sewickley) before, but had a sub, so I never had tried their pizza and I wanted to give it a try. I have to say that the toppings, sauce, and assembly was great... The only issue was the crust was too thick for a hand-tossed-style pizza. They could have knocked off a ¼" of that crust and the ratio of toppings to crust would have been so much better. Overall - Highly recommend stopping in to a Caliente! We ordered for pickup and it was ready in about 20 minutes! Started off with the garlic parm fries but disappointingly they lacked the garlic. The fries were fresh cut and delicious. We HAD to get the meemaw based on the description alone but unfortunately we were underwhelmed by the flavor. It boasted of "a five-day, fermented pan dough. Topped it with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil, 3-year-old aged Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and rapini, which is a green grown in Italy. It's cooked with onions, shallots, pepper bacon and crushed plum tomatoes. Then it's topped with porchetta, which is made in Italy. I sliced that and put it on the pan pizza then I topped it with shaved parmesan, a little bit of black pecorino, truffle cheese." All of those wonderful cheeses, truffle cheese, flavorful porchetta just fell short. We'll definitely try again and hopefully the flavor will be worth the price read more

Good times at Crafton Caliente's! We were here on Saturday afternoon. Although they were moderately busy, the service was prompt and precise. The waitress offered several good drink selections based on our likes. I had 3 different drafts and all of them live up to expectations. The draft selection is well balanced and thought out. We had fresh cut fries as appetizer and they were thick, properly deep fried with the right amount of salty flavoring. It had an inviting vibe. After about 90 minutes the vibe changed. I noticed a few tables getting subpar service. Then I felt ghosted so we decided to move on and take the good time wow where else. Maybe the staff should consider teamwork. read more

This will be my second review for here. I think last time I have 4/5. Well this time, my gluten free friend and I were looking for a place to get pizza. She usually wants their buffalo chicken, which we have had before and is pretty good, but I was in the mood for a classic tomato sauce and cheese. We decided to go to Calientes to get just that, GF crust. Let me tell you, this pizza hit! I mean it really helped my craving. The GF crust is honestly so good. As someone who's not GF, I've had a decent amount of GF pizza crusts, and Calientes really knocks it out of the park with it. It's thick, soft on the inside, and crunchy on the outside, but not in a burnt kind of way. It's just so good! We also got tots, which are also GF. Very crispy but not overdone on the inside. Welcome to the 7th location of Caliente's pizza and draft house! The ribbon cutting was yesterday and corporate manager Nick was on hand to greet us. This was my first visit to any of the eateries in this chain. Known for pizza and beer selections, their menu expands to include appetizers, salads, French fries. burgers, chicken sandwiches, wings, and even fish for the Lenten season. My husband and girlfriend stopped over here for lunch. The bar is downstairs along with a takeout counter if you wish to order to go in person. You can also phone ahead with your order. We had a friendly and helpful waitress named Melissa who took good care of us and answered any questions we had. I saw that purchasing a gourmet pizza would save us in the long run so the three of us ordered a medium "Betty White's garden" to share. That pizza came with garlic butter, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, and feta cheese. It took quite a bit of time to get our pizza but it was worth it in the end. It was freshly made and it was indeed delicious! We ordered a vegan pizza to go. The do have a small limited amount of vegan choices. They have more vegetarian options and are working on a gluten free menu as well. Again it took a while to get the vegan pizza but it did look yummy. They offer a rewards program but it is primarily for when you place a takeout order. The restaurant is small and it will get crowded fairly quickly. Best to come early if you want to insure good seating. Outside of having to wait a long time for our pizzas we were all pleasantly pleased with our meal. My friend and I left another restaurant to come eat because the kitchen closed early- so we were starving and knew this was the place to be. The server/host was so nice and we were nervous because it was an hour-ish before close and didn't want to be "those people". However she was nothing but nice and welcoming!(: Their drinks/beer selection is great! I think I might start coming here for drinks and apps. Arsenal is always a hit but the fact that they had the limited edition (they only make it around Cinco De Mayo) Spicy Cider- I was ecstatic! We ordered wings, fries, pizza and rolls. The Buffalo chicken rolls were alright, but I lovedddd the fries. I love trying fries everywhere I go and these were some of my fav. The wings we couldn't even get a picture of because we ate them before I realized, but these are also very good! We just went with a pepperoni pizza, which was yummy! We love Caliente!! However, was disappointed in our recent pick up. The Betty White was wonderful but had some naked slices that were just dough no topping. No extra ricotta. And what restaurant doesn't serve marinara sauce on the side? Wanted to charge $1.50!!!! First let me say, I am so excited to have a Caliente closer to me. And their food did not disappoint, it is definitely 5 stars! The pizza was delicious, the crust was perfectly chewy and fluffy. So many different options it was hard to decide, but we ordered spaceballs and will try the Mee-Maw next time. We also got an order of the buffalo chicken rolls and they were awesome! Everything was hot and cooked perfectly. But, it will be to-go. The experience was definitely 1 star. I know businesses are having staffing issues but we really felt like an inconvenience to anyone we encountered. It was just all around an uncomfortable vibe. Again, 5 stars for the food! I placed an online order for pickup which was just a large pizza and mozzarella cheese sticks. It said it wouldn't be ready for 45 mins which I thought was a really long time for a pickup order but I guess it's understandable for a Friday evening. When I went to pick up my food I got there a little early and waited in the parking lot until it was almost my pickup time. I went in, got my food which had already been sitting on the shelf waiting for me and went home. I only live 2 mins away. Clearly my food had been sitting on their shelf for a while because the cheese sticks were room temperature, they were overcooked so all of the cheese had run out of every single one of the cheese sticks (picture included). They were also smashed because the marinara sauce was placed on top of them. The cheese formed a hard ball which stuck to the paper insert inside the container. Needless to say I wasn't happy with my cold, cheese-less cheese sticks. The pizza was fine except that it was a bit over cooked and was only warm when I got it. Suggestion: Maybe the restaurant can find a way to keep the food warm while it's waiting for pickup and be more careful with the cooking and packaging of sides. read more

And both times were months after they opened. First and foremost, everything is overpriced. I'm all about paying a fair price and I know the cost of doing business has risen. But upwards of $40 for a pizza? No thanks. Sat on deck once and this was nice. Male waiter was attentive and food was served timely. Second visit we were seated upstairs which basically equates to being forgotten about. Didn't get water or menus or anything timely. Will never agree to being sat there again, if I return. The food at this was great but, disappointed with the service . we ordered their award winning pizza and they delivered it to the table next to us by a waitress. our waiter came to us and told us our order was given to the table next to us and said they put our order back in. The table next offered us a piece while we waited. Our waiter apologized we said ok, we finally received it and waiter apologized again. But then the table that received our pizza also got the pizza they ordered. I work customer service and was disappointed that a manager never came to us to offer anything. we would probably denied it but, to give our pizza plus their order to them but nothing was offered to us. very disappointing. I will try again but if service follows same way I can go many places for pizza. read more

The pizzas have lots of variants, but spending $25-35 bucks on one was never going to reel me in (small pies hover around $15). But I heard so much about Caliente so I gave them a shot. Tried the Brooklyn in Your Face for $29. It was a pepperoni pizza. Thin crust. Suffice to say it wasn't a bargain for what it was. It was average. But it was nothing compared to the stupidly slow service and bumbling wait staff who seemed to be confused about where stuff was going. Twice someone came by with orders that weren't my party's. Both of them pizza orders. I mean, how difficult is it to take a particular pizza to a particular table? It took forever to settle up as well. And it wasn't even that crowded on the evening I went. Not acceptable. Should I give it another chance seeing as it just might be growing pains? Not at these prices. YMMV. read more

Let me start by saying the pizza is fabulous. They're not stretching it when they make the 'world's best' claim. The in-restaurant service, though, was maybe the worst I've ever had. We hit the Crafton spot early on a Friday night for dinner. We ended up out on a dingy patio on a hot night - not our first choice, but the hostess said the inside waitresses were overwhelmed. (It didn't seem that busy ... but in hindsight we should have taken the clue.) She seated our group of four adults between two tables with cranky kids. Not the vibe we were looking for ... but we rolled with it and ordered drinks. My wife got served what was maybe the weakest mojito ever made. We seriously question whether it was non-alcoholic. Not worth the price, for sure. Our food order got in and we waited... and waited... and waited. More than an hour later, I asked the waitress to simply make them to-go. I had no choice because everything else was closed and against my better judgement stopped here Sunday night. There was not one person at the bar so my 3 friends and I sat at the bar. It took at least 15 mins to place an order. We ordered 4 beers and 1 cheese fry. Another 15 mins and we got drinks, no fries. We finally asked when the waitress eventually came back. They had been sitting in the back and she comped them which really didn't matter. Why have a bar, without a bartender and employees are clearly overwhelmed. We would have easily ordered several drinks and possibly food but it's not possible here. Same waitress I had before, terrible. Will not return.
