I thought this place was okay. We ordered a buffalo chicken hoagie, chicken gyro, a small pizza, and fried zucchini. The fried zucchini was delish but I felt as if everything else was just meh. It's a good place to go if you're looking to have a beer with your food. The service was pretty quick and they were attentive which was great. The restaurant was your normal, local pizza place with a bar. It also had games on the side for kids which was cute. Awful, false advertising! We have been ordering from Gino's Sharpsburg location for years. They used to be pretty good. Tonight, we ordered a whole deluxe steak hoagie. It was awful..honestly a steak-um would have been better. There was no "freshly marinated steak" as advertised. It was a frozen dry processed patty. The whole hoagie was dry, no flavor, 1 slice of green pepper and 2 slices of mushroom on a whole hoagie That is part of what makes it "deluxe"! We did not eat but a few bites and called to question..the gentleman who took our order and who subsequently took my call replied "that's how they make them now". He could not did give a care when I called him out on the false advertising. Save your money, go to the Brinery a few doors down and get a top notch, high quality steak hoagie. I'm not in Sharpsburg very often, but I was craving a calzone while passing by, so why not give Gino Bros a try? After all, there aren't too many pizza shops in Sharpsburg when compared to other areas in Pittsburgh. I got their regular cheese calzone (build your own) and the Oreo cheesecake. The calzone was very good. When I first got the box, I felt a little disappointed with the portion. However, after actually eating it, the portion was okay for the price. There's definitely other places that give better bang for your buck, though. It's $13 for only 10 inches. The crust was lovely. It had a great dusting of cheese on top. Plus, I love that it was still a bit crispy when I got my order. The crunch elevated it. There was a fair amount of cheese inside. A bit heavier on the mozzarella and provolone and less ricotta than in other places. Tomato sauce was inside the calzone but didn't make it soggy. It was on the sweeter side and there wasn't too much of it. The dessert was definitely not their strength. It tasted like a very standard food service cheesecake, not a delicious, creamy homemade variety. It was oddly bland and lacked the sweetness I expected; plus its texture was a bit off too. The crust was okay, but I would recommend skipping dessert (especially since this was $6). All in all, this was a great calzone. It was a bit smaller than in most other places, but it's high quality. If you're in Sharpsburg, it's worth a try. Just order dessert from somewhere else. read more

I have eaten at Gino's several times, mostly because it is close to my work (as this area is not known for a vast selection of eateries), they deliver, and I never pay. See we collectively order from here (the Office) whenever there is some type of special event, IE corporate peeps in town, special meetings, or things like the never ending bi-annual inventory when the boss will buy lunch and demand you get enough to cover dinner...yikes Anyhow, Gino's is ok. Pretty basic fare. They have your typical subs, pizza, fried apps, wings, some pasta dishes and salads. I have tried several of their pizzas, specialty and the regular ones. I have also tried their salads and once got a gyro. The gyro sucked, straight up sucked. It was more or less a few pieces of mystery meat in a pita. Small for the price and the pita was hard. The salad (only have had the tossed) was very basic. Iceberg lettuce, some slices of red onion, a cucumber piece and a pepperoncini. The tomatoes they use are awful, they have never been in season, I throw them away. But the best part is their Italian dressing. It is some of the best I have had, and it is (I am told) homemade. Really, really good. I would buy bottles of it. Pizza, eh hit and miss. The buffalo chicken is a favorite at the office. Spicy but not too much. I have had the veggie, meat lover, BBQ Chicken, and other toppings. Again it's ok, not much to say either way. Went to Gino's with a group of 8. Each person had something different. Appetizers were fresh and so good and everyone was very pleased with their dinner. They have good days an bad days, I ordered a pep pizza so good then the following week I figured order a pep pizza an it was burnt so I called to talk to the manager an I said I order from you at least 2-3 times a month an my family once a week my pizza is so burnt I can't really eat it.. he literally said to me oh well what do you want me to do about it. Will start by saying that for over 5 years, we have been sharpsburg ginos regulars. Ordering at least once per week despite the hit or miss service. I like the food, though, so every time we have a poor experience, I convince my partner that we should try them one more time. On Christmas Eve Eve, I stopped in to get a gift card and was told they were "sold out" of gift cards. As I was leaving, the worker kindly offered to "scratch out the name on used gift card" and give it to me.... I politely declined his offer and explained I did not want to give a used gift card, as a gift to someone, on Christmas. Fail. Instead, I went to the Harmar location to purchase a gift card and afterward, despite being owned by the same people and sharing a website, learned it could ONLY be used at the harmar location and not at our normal sharpsburg spot.... fail again. Tonight, I ordered our usual two salads for dinner from the sharpsburg location. I specified I would like mild Buffalo sauce on the side of my Buffalo chicken salad. I also specified I would like to "pay on delivery," which I normally do, when I placed the order. My order arrived 15 minutes after the indicated delivery time and I was told I was not permitted to pay on delivery - they got rid of their handheld card scanners. Instead, I called the store and gave them my order & credit card number. As I was hanging up, I was called from a different worker at the location looking for card information. Horrible communication. As I opened my salad, I noticed it was saturated with their impossibly hot, hot sauce. Oh, and my mild Buffalo sauce on the side. The salad was inedible. The lack of communication, ability to manage simple business practices and follow simple directions in the last week is more than I care to deal with moving forward. I have to unfortunately say although the food is 'good: pizzaria delivery food, it is NOT worth the $24.00 I was charged for a steak wrap and fries. I ordered online and tipped online as well. When the food arrived I was told a tip was needed so I did. It's my fault for not disputing that. I didn't realize I paid $24.00 for a wrap the size of my fist and cold dry fries The wrap was originally $9.00 but got bumped up a couple dollars due to asking for extra meat. The fries were $5.00. the tip went way out of control and that's my fault. I also can't begrudge that tip going to a person who may need it. The price of the food for what you get is moreso what I'm referring to. I could have had fine dining for $24.00. I'll never order there again. Even without the tip snafoo the food is way overpriced. Gino Brothers has the best ranch. I mean the pizza is great too, but the reason I always pick them over anyone else is the ranch, which is house made and comes with every pizza. While the ranch is a big selling point for me: their pizza is perfect. It's always a big hit at parties. Delivery is always fast. They are also lovely people. They're allowing us to host our daughter's birthday party in their new (and very nice) restaurant! They said we could even decorate if we wanted to - we don't, but it was very kind of them to offer. Gino's is a good neighborhood pizza place. They have good lunch specials that make this a regular spot every week. They have one TV, which is nice for catching up on some sports while at lunch. I've tired their Mediterranean salad, lasagna, and pizza, but the pepperoni rolls are my favorite! We've also had these guys cater for lunches as work. The salad trays are large, and pizza's are hot. In the past we were disappointed with Gino's. But NOT ANYMORE. This is now our favorite takeout place! The wings are cooked perfectly, with awesome sauces (our favorite is Spicy Garlic Parmesan and Hot). The pizza has a delicious crust and isn't soggy. This is very good pizza. I ordered an XL with half cheese and pepperoni and half with sausage peppers and onions. The crust is not too thin, not too thick. The pepperoni is the smaller pepperonis and it's a little crispy and delicious. Overall this is very good pizza. read more

The best pizzas in the neighborhood! Fast and delicious. Prefer thin crust and eat-in if possible, better when consumed fresh out of oven. They have parking in front and back. Terrible service. The girl at the register forgot what I ordered and had to ask me 3 times in my 45. minute wait for a gyro. No one here but me. 3rd time she asked if I paid. I had.
