"I command you to happy hour," I say, not-so-subtly hinting at the location to my sister. Grist Command is a huge space with expansive views, can see some of the downtown buildings when it's clear. Love the three decks, multiple bars. Excellent service typically, everyone is friendly and prompt. Food is good, little bit expensive, but hot and lots of variety of sauces. Really the only bad thing is the parking, they have a lot but if it's full you have to shuttle.

Grist House Command. Where the beer is cold and the food is hot! Super fun place to hang with friends. Staff is friendly and very attentive. So glad we got to try it!

We stopped by on Saturday at 3pm for our friend's birthday. Parking can be a little confusing with multiple lots but luckily we caught someone as they were leaving and we were able to be fairly close to the front door. The inside is pretty big and has a big indoor area and a big outdoor area. You can get beer up at the counter. It was absolutely packed and I was very glad we had a private room. I only had one draft but it was pretty good! I would come back!

My Beer Meet Up group went to Gristhouse Command Wednesday night. It was my first time. The space was great. You could see the Nike Installation "radome" from miles away. This place was huge! While there I decide to try food from the snack shack. Got the basic burger, which was perfect and a co-goer shared fries (which they had malt vinegar for!). The beer is always great but I fell for the plumbus shaman ! I love anything infused with plums. I highly recommend a night out here. What a great addition to the gristhouse name/brand.

I love the original Grist in Millvalle, so I was excited to visit their new location at the former Nike missle base in Oakdale. The beer selection was impressive. They kept some signs from the Nike missile site, which is very cool. Besides the main floor, there are 2 rooftop places to sit outside. The food is very good. Although the text message said my food would be ready in 20 minutes, it was closer to 5 minutes. We went on a Friday night and it was packed. It was hard to find a parking spot and a table. It was also difficult to hear any conversation at our table. Staff were very attentive.

A very unique place outside of the city. Views are incredible. You can bring dogs outside on the decks. It's kid friendly but the kids can't run around and you need to stay with them (which is a good rule). Food is good.

    Grist House's new spot!

This new spot is amazing-exactly what the South Hills needed. The inside is beautiful with tons of seating, multiple bars, and future event spaces. They had burgers, hot dogs, fries, salads, and pretzels at the snack bar. They had a TON of sauces to pick from. The beer cheese for the pretzel had a little kick and was delicious. The pretzel was a deep fried pretzel and was delicious. They have THREE levels of deck with STUNNING views. You can see all the way to downtown. This spot is dog friendly on the patio and family friendly. There is a nice parking lot out front and extra parking down the hill where they will have a shuttle. Beer and service were great as always. 10/10 recommend.

Grist House Command is a great addition to the area! They've only been open a couple months, and we've gone back numerous times, which speaks to the atmosphere, service, and vibes! We love that the space is huge (both indoors and outdoors), there's plenty of seating, and it's very family-friendly. They have a good mix of beers (and NA mocktails) for all tastes: IPAs, lagers, and sours. Their menu isn't anything fancy, but it includes hot dogs, burgers, and fries, and all of the dipping sauces. Whether you're looking for a night out or a place to watch some football, Grist House Command is the perfect spot!

This place is amazing!! Great views and service! Don't go here thinking you can get a Budweiser, they only sell THEIR brews! My husband tried a few different ones and said they were all great!! There is a snake bar here! Simple items( fries, hotdogs, sliders) no table service you order in line or on your phone! They have a lot of cool merch also! 3 levels of seating and wonderful views!!

This building is just incredible on its own - from gorgeous views of a far away downtown Pittsburgh to the three, YES THREE, decks outside and the large indoor space, this place was PACKED and it still was an incredible time. Parking lot is not large, so they do have a shuttle service that runs from a lot below the hill. Multiple places to order Beers so the lines never took too long. Food seem to be a scan to order from an app, or you can order at the food window and then pick up when ready. We particularly didn't eat, but the food we saw looked amazing. Vibes are 10/10, beer is always great from Grist House, and this location just tops them all! Can't wait to come back!

    Food Menu

Beer is absolutely solid and I love and recommend it to anyone but the food menu seriously needs more variety and healthier options. Right now, the menu is heavily focused on burgers, hot dogs, cheese, fried appetizers, and rich sauces. If you want something lighter or more balanced, there are basically only two salads to choose from. The hot dogs themselves aren't fried, but the overall menu still feels extremely heavy and one-dimensional. Nearly every item is centered around greasy bar food with very few fresh or healthier alternatives. A modern brewery should offer more than just burgers and hot dogs. Adding grilled wraps, baked soft pretzels, fresh sandwiches, veggie options, turkey burgers, or lighter appetizers would make a huge difference. Even simple additions like grilled chicken wraps or healthier sides would help balance out the menu and appeal to a wider crowd. Right now, it feels like the food menu was designed with zero consideration for anyone trying to eat even moderately healthy. The brewery already has the atmosphere, service and drinks down -- now it just needs a food menu with more creativity, freshness, and balance. Will give 5 stars if food improves.

We really enjoyed our experience here at Grist House Command! My friend and I came here on a weekend night. It was very busy, but didn't feel overly crowded because of the amount of open space outside. Inside was pretty packed but we were able to get our drinks and food pretty quickly. Staff was really friendly and their food was excellent too! We had to park in the overflow lot, which was fine because the shuttle came frequently. I really look forward to going back, especially during the warmer months!

    Welcome to the Command Center!

I mean we always have LOVED the Grist House...but this takes our relationship to a whole new level. What an absolutely beautiful 360 degree view of the hills with the city of Pittsburgh in the distance. Every time you go up a new level to a different deck, the view just keeps getting better. The interior is so spacious with a large bar and tons of seating. Great addition to this location is the food menu with snacks to satisfy your appetite. Well done Grist House!!!

Went here after golfing with a buddy and had a solid IPA and a pretty good Oktoberfest. The variety available is good enough that most people should be able to find something they like. A really nice outdoor seating area with a couple of fire tables and Adirondack chairs makes it comfortable and inviting. I happened to be there on a Sunday afternoon and I think a football game was going on or just ended because there were a bunch of unsupervised kids running around the tables. Not that they were over the top obnoxious, but they were definitely distracting. Other than the timing, I enjoyed the ambiance of the place and the beers were good enough that I'd gladly make the 40 minute drive down again. 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive 30 minutes out of my way just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here

Our server was Dustin (or Justin, we weren't sure) who was terrific (ask for him to wait on you, if you can!) I had the Italian Panini which was so yummy! Also the side dish of loaded mashed potatoes with gravy ..... They were just okay. It was quite a cold night, so 3 of us had nice hot cups of tea served in these quaint handmade mugs! And I had a glass of homemade root beer ..... ya can't go wrong! The prices are reasonable: my tea, root beer, and Italian Panini were $25. I think very moderate. Reservations are highly recommended. We initially were stopped in our tracks by the doors being locked and the business being closed which was a surprise to us because I had read on Yelp the hours were 4-10ish but we'd later find out that was more like 4ish to 10ish. Haha! We were bummed and as we were walking back to the Jeep to head somewhere else, I sparked up a conversation with a couple gentlemen from the area who were in the parking lot. They were waiting to go inside as well and assured us that the owner would be there soon. So we chatted about beers and breweries and then boom, the owner pulled in. We found out that she had to pick up an order she had placed at Sam's Club and while doing that a girl had called off, so totally understandable. We all helped her unload the stuff she bought for the bar and then she served us an ice cold Halleck Pale Ale in frosted mugs from Chestnut Brew Works, which sadly enough I'd never had until then, Wow was it was tasty! Thanks Shorty for the recommendation. It's now on my favorite list. After chatting it up with the locals we happened to find out to our surprise that a guy we grew up with now lived in the area and made friends with the locals since they were all super good musicians. So they called him up and he came down and had a beer with us before we had to head out. They played us their new music on the jukebox and it was very good and we also met a local guy who had just been inducted into the WV Music Hall Of Fame. Damn, these are the days I live for! Listen, this place is 100% awesome! The owner Laura is amazing, the locals are kind and friendly, the beer is super cold and mostly local but some of your other favorites too, she makes her own wine and it's on tap, the food looks good, she supports locals businesses as well by purchasing their stuff for resale, it's roomy and they have a pool table. It's a super cool place and I can't wait to go back and hang out again and grab a pizza from the pizzeria next door. Sláinte!
