    House Salad with added toppings

I finally got to have Picnic Pizza again for the first time since they moved to Smyrna It is definitely worth the drive. The good news is the pizza is still as amazing as ever!!! It was well lit, clean and the employees were very friendly and attentive There have been some changes though that I wasn't expecting There is no longer pasta on the menu And the house salad has changed Now it only comes with tomato and the incredible shredded mozzarella cheese, I had to add all the toppings that previously came on it But it is twice the size as it was before The mushrooms on the salad are canned mushrooms, they used to put fresh mushrooms on the salad, canned mushrooms on the pizza Now canned mushrooms are on both And sadly the Italian salad dressing they used to make isnt available anymore I will still be back! I still love it! I'm happy it only changed a little And they are still around and still making amazing pizza

Angelo's Picnic Pizza is a great little place in Smyrna...they have a sweet lunch deal of two one-topping slices and a fountain drink for $9. This is the pizza shop that used to be in the Hickory Hollow Mall...dined there many times back "in the day". The slices are huge and very good. I decided on plain cheese and there was nothing plain about these slices. The crust was crispy, light sauce but had good flavor, and the cheese tasted fresh. If you are looking for a slice you can fold like NY street slices, here you go. Easy to fold and they hold up, one slice I actually folded it four times! Great food and the customer service was exceptional. Jacqueline behind the counter is awesome...a bright smile and a wonderful personality. She lights the place up!

Great new local pizza place with simple decor. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We started with the delicious garlic knots with marinara, which were clearly homemade. I ordered one pepperoni and one sausage, each by the slice. The photos do not do it justice, these slices were huge. This may be the best pizza I've had in Nashville to date. All of the food was fresh, authentic, and made with care. Finally, their prices just can't be beat! A great bargain for the amount of food you get. This will be our new go to pizza place in the area! Can't wait to come back to try that calzone.

We went for a delish lunch! Had a XL pizza for $25 (Tuesday special) and garlic knots. Everything was delish and fed me and the hubs for 3 meals. Vegetables on the pizza were perfect. Service was fast and personal. The restaurant was perfect for a picnic style pizza, clean, and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Stopped in as we were meeting my wife's cousin and he had suggested this place if we liked pizza, they have a decent menu with plenty of options, you can even get Keto and Vegetarian meals which we thought was pretty cool. Service was great and the staff was friendly and very accommodating, there was 6 of us total, me, my wife and our twin 8 year old boys, 17 year old daughter and her cousin. We ordered a medium Pepperoni pizza and then the Supreme Special which was a meat lovers pizza and added roasted garlic, we also order garlic knots and a house salad for our daughter with chicken and bacon added. The restaurant was clean and the bathrooms were also very clean which is always a good sign, the pizzas were delicious and loved the crispy crust, the garlic knots were true garlic bread knots with pesto and garlic served with marinara sauce. We all enjoyed the pizza and service very much, it was great also having pizza that wasn't smothered in sauce. All around very good and worth trying, they also do pizza by the slice and have other menu options and lots of dessert choices. Would definitely eat here again.

The wrong pizza made, and I'm stuck with it

These people didn't have their websites updated and made me the wrong pizza. This pizza was $60 and they were not willing to do anything to make it right. Angelo used to not be this way.

Giving Angelo's a 4 star because the restaurant was a nice little spot, and the staff was very nice. The food reflects more of a score of 3 to me. I ordered 2 slices of cheese and pep. The good: dough was fluffy and crispy, cooked well and tasted well. The not so good: too much sauce, sauce was too sweet, and the ingredients at just don't seem fresh or of the best quality. If you're in the area it's worth it for a slice, it just wasn't for me.

What is the difference between the Sicilian style and their regular pizza?

Our "regular" pizza is thin, Ny style pizza. The Sicilian style is what you might think of traditionally as a pan pizza - thicker crust, more bread like.

I went upstairs and sat at the bar where I met Kate...she is a non-stop dynamo behind the bar with a fun personality. The two dishes I enjoyed were specials for the evening and may not be available when you visit. My appetizer...black mussels in an elegant cream sauce...this dish blew me away. Make sure you dip the bread in the sauce, it was so good I was tempted to order another helping. For dinner the fried Grouper over a bed of gnocchi and a drizzle of aioli was incredible. The breading was light, the fish was perfectly cooked, and the combination of flavors was very well done. While I am not a fan of the texture of gnocchi...this was really good with the cream sauce. What sets this place apart...the people! Yes...the food is great! The texture was dense, dry, and crumbly--more like cornbread than the soft, fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth pancakes I was expecting. They lacked the moist, buttery richness I personally look for in a great pancake. To be fair, that may be their intended style, but it wasn't what I had hoped for. The staff was accommodating, and I exchanged the pancakes for scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and seasoned potatoes. That plate was much more enjoyable. The eggs were fluffy, the potatoes were nicely seasoned with a good crisp on the outside, and the turkey sausage was a solid choice. I also sampled the Turkey Sausage Biscuits & Gravy. The dish was comforting and satisfying, but it could have benefited from a little more seasoning. A touch more sage in the sausage would have added the savory depth that makes biscuits and gravy truly memorable. One of the highlights of the meal was the fresh juice selection. The Morning Meditation was refreshing with a bright blend of orange, lemon, turmeric, ginger, beet, and agave. The lavender drink was equally delicious, light, floral, and refreshing without being overpowering. If you're visiting First Watch, I highly recommend trying one of their fresh juices. Overall, while the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes missed the mark for me, the fresh juices, eggs, potatoes, and turkey sausage made for a pleasant brunch experience. I'd gladly return and explore more of their savory breakfast offerings.
