I used to live 5 min from Angels Food Market & they have the charm of a small neighborhood market with everything you need like a big chain market but better. They have a hot food before which before Covid had lots of salad items & hot sides but in going there recently only had chicken out & the soup bar as always is outstanding. My favorite is Chili & Cornbread. Very Good. read more

I've visited Angel's a few times before and am satisfied with each visit. It's not within my normal routes so I don't frequent here much often. Prices are fair and normal like any other grocery store. Certain products are cheaper than your mainstream stores. I love their homemade salads and a very good deli selection. If you like wine, there is a nice collection in the store for you. read more

This is my second party catered by Angel's. The fried chicken and the sandwich salad platter received the most Kudos but of course the macaroni salad and coleslaw were a big hit. Other than that...I do not visit Angels if I am on my way anywhere...it smells so bad in there that your clothing will smell as well. Today I called to inquire about a frozen chicken item that they used to carry and now suddenly do not. I want to make sandwiches with this thin chicken. Gail was very inconvenienced with my phone inquiry, asking if she could check if they have the chicken. She kept sighing and putting me on hold. Then she suggested that I use rotisserie chicken. I told her thank you but it was not the same. She sighed again, and I politely hung up. Produce is not fresh and the seafood is just totally out in the open! If you have the time, drive further down the road to Giant or Safeway...or better yet, keep driving and go to Aldi! read more

As Caterers, you cannot do better than Angels in the Pasadena Area! They have catered several functions for my family and we also get rave reviews. Make sure to ask for their homemade fried tortilla chips. As a grocery store, Angels is the best local grocery store that we have, but it is true that sometimes their selection is hit or miss. If you are going for a specific item I would suggest calling ahead of time, or be flexible in your selection. They almost always have most things but they may be variations of what you usually purchase as they are a smaller local provider. However, you cannot do better than their Hot Bar- with steak cut fries, Maryland crab soup, and fried chicken, Angels is a great quick stop for that delicious comfort food (plus you can feel good about supporting a local business!) read more

We have a park membership to Downs Park which is right down the street and Angel's is a convenient stop on our way home if I need to pick up anything. They do have good prices on sales items and hubby loves their assortment of turnovers but other than that I've learned not to expect much. They often have great sales on lunch meat but the young man who always seems to be working the weekends when we drop by always takes forever to fill my order and is beyond unfriendly, I usually take a pass if there's anyone ahead of me because I don't have an extra half hour to kill standing at a deli case. On occasion I've had to ask where certain items are and I never get a friendly response, the employees act like their only job is to stock the shelves, not provide any customer service whatsoever. There is usually only 1 register open so cross your fingers that you don't end up behind someone shopping for the End of Days. The store overall is not well lit and gives the appearance of being dingy and if you need something not on sale that week I'd just drive the extra mile or 2 to Giant or other large grocery store nearby because their regular prices on everything is on par with Whole Foods without the freshness and service. read more

I was very pleased with my visit to Angel's market. I arrived 15 minutes prior to closing and was treated very well. Sometimes stores try to get you out of the door when it's near closing time, but that was not the case. The staff were pleasant and very helpful! I bought two types of potato salad and cole slaw - my personal favorite - and everything was very good - it really does taste homemade!! I highly recommend Angel's salads - very tasty! read more

I would love to write a fabulous review of a small family owned grocery store but sadly I can't. I recently moved back to the area and was hoping that since they remodeled the store they would have bought better equipment. I use to love buying the macaroni and potato salad for I know they have the best recipe anywhere. The problem is that every time I get food it has mold on it. This has happened with mainly their desserts and prepackaged foods. When I went in to the store this week to buy cleaning supplies there was a horrible odor like something had died near the back of the store. This store is very hit or miss with its prepared foods. They have added more parking which is a great. Overall, I would rather shop where I can trust that my food is fresh. read more

This is a grocery store DONE right! They have some of the best salads (potato macaroni etc)I've ever tasted. They also have a hot bar that will put yo mommas superbowl spread to shame! All kinds of different goodies on it.. fried chicken rice wings different specialty dishes etc.... they also got some sa sa sa saaalammminnnn chili! Check this joint out for a lazy day... I'm not saying to cancel your dinner plans at Texas road house down the street for it (let's get real... those ribs are OFF the hook !) But I would deff stock up on BBQ sides here and grab a quick meal on your way home from work when youre too lazy to cook! read more

I just discovered the place because I was working an open house in the neighborhood and I have fallen in love with it. I wish they had more locations. It's a good old-fashioned mom-and-pop supermarket with great quality and amazing selection for the small size of the facility. I love this place! They have found their niche in the market as the best local grocery store ever. No they cannot compete with giant on everything price wise; however, they have everything that giant has and at a fair price. What sets them apart is what they have that giant does not Beer, Wine, Liquor and local flare. Only place you will find fisher's popcorn, home made salads and deserts. BEWARE!!!! every thing in there refrigeration unit has expired. There ground beef is brown before you get home and smells. I told employee about the expiration date on items and she said you better check date on anything you buy here. The last straw was I bought corn on cob that said fresh local corn. It was disgusting was like mush must of been at least a week old. I know of others who have complained about expired goods on there shelves and returned another day to see same items still sitting on shelves. I guess management just doesn't care. read more

Great salads and meats, none better anywhere. If you get there late before a holiday you want find much, locals order there salads early and clean the shelfs out fast. People are freindly and its just a nice place to get good produce and groceries. read more

I would rate Angels Food Market 0 Stars if I could. Angels food market is so terrible. 1st of all it smells inside Angels food market. Also, They have about 9 checkout lines but they only use 1-2 checkout lines. They also have an express checkout and self service checkouts that they never use and don't let people use. Next, The floors are all scratched up it is so terrible with the smells that the place just looks very terrible. Also, The soda machine, Coffee, and tea is old. They are more than a month old and most of the time are out of order. In the deli most of the employees touch the food without wearing any gloves. The pickles are about 3-5 months old. And the isles are not organized. Food has SOME mold on it. And The Employees are not friendly. Not even the owners and managers are friendly. So angles food market is not a place to go to if you want good food and quality looks and friendly employees, owners, and managers. If you want good things about a store go to Giant Or Safeway 1.5 miles away from angles. read more

I agree with Train M. that the male managers/owners are unfriendly. They walk around like deity and think they are too important to speak to you. However, most of the cashiers and other staff are pleasant. The managers/owners appear to have failed Management 101. They do not realize that their very snooty attitudes lower the bottom line. The truth is they inherited their positions from their Dad who was always nice and friendly. They certainly do not emulate him! I've never gotten anything from Angels that is old or has mold on it. I like that they have prepared salads & you can pick up beer or spirits there. I've found the managers, the liquor manager & most of the cashiers friendly. I'm amazed at the older negative reviews. My husband & I admire the people who manage the store & are always coming up with creative ideas for business. It's modern but has a "neighborhood" feel to it. read more
