Small farmer's market with just the right amount of vendors. You will find fruits, veggies, meats,…read morecakes, jams, jellies, soaps and a few more trinkets for your tummy or body to enjoy. Down near the Annapolis harbor you can take in the visuals of the boats that are docked or sailing, people watching, the multitude of restaurants or shops. Or you can stop by this quaint little farmer's market just before you do all the the other things. Although small, this farmer's market has a small town appeal with just a few vendors, but I found them attentive, personable and and plain old nice. From Belle's Acres soap, balms, salves, and body washes to Karen Kay's table of cakes and other sweet treats with no sugar, calories, just LOVE as she tells it. So, stop on by this charming farmer's market on Sunday and leave with a SMILE.

We ran down this morning for the inaugural launch and they did not disappoint. Criteria for vendors at a Freshfarm Market include, that you must be located within the Chesapeake bay region and you may only sell what you have either grown or made yourself. With that said, there is a definite slant towards sustainable and organic product of high quality. Today's offerings included: Quail Creek Bakery, Cherry Glen Goat Cheese Co, Flower vendors, Springfield Lamb, Local produce featuring early tomatoes, mini cucumbers, herbs, sweet cherries, asparagus, strawberries and much more. We also scooped up a delicious homemade gazpacho and mushroom empanadas for later. Local favorite, Chef Jim Wilder of the Wild Orchid Cafe was on hand for food demonstrations. We watched as he prowled the market for his ingredients but were unable to stay. There is plenty of room for expansion and we have hopes that as the season progresses, even more vendors will join in. The market is open Sundays only, June 1 - October 5. 8AM - 12PM. If you live in the area and you are serious about food, then PLEASE don't miss this opportunity for yourself and for Anne Arundel County. www.hardypartyreview.blogspot.com

Honestly, I'd have to get peed on or punched by a vendor to give a local farmer's market less than…read more4 stars. Nonetheless, this was a nice (albeit small) collection of local vendors selling some great looking/tasting produce, meat, baked goods, honey and SALT (I'm a sucker for salts). Many of the vendors were the same as those you'll see at the Anne Arundel County Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. On the downside, this market is in the parking lot of the Annapolis Mall which is the most depressing of settings (in my opinion, of course) -- local vendors selling local produce amongst the most commercial of chains, like Applebee's and Panda Express, places that use commercial, flavorless produce in their food. The juxtaposition is not lost on me. I'm not trying to be snobbish, it's just that I feel a lot more "at home" when some grass is visible during my veggie buying spree. Nonetheless, I highly recommend stopping in and picking up some salt samples and produce. Nothing is better than a fresh, homegrown tomato or sweet ear of white corn as a vessel on which to try your newly acquired salts. Once you try it you'll thank me!

One of my favorite Annapolis area Farmer's Market! A great place to be on a Sunday morning. Even…read morethe church goers can make it out here with hours between 10-2PM! Eggs and dairy products, with fresh seasonal veggies, breads, and even jewelry and soaps are just a few items you can pick up from this market. It varies each weekend. I've gotten herbs, and a Maryland Farmer's cookbook. I'm a huge fan of the Triple J farm eggs there. They are pricey $3.99/dozen, BUT unless you have a hen house handy you won't get fresher eggs. Once you try it, you will never want to buy eggs from Giant or Safeway again. Because these guys were smart enough to situate themselves within walking distance of a bank, this makes it very convenient for us to get cash (or more cash if we see more stuff we like) from an ATM. They get an extra star from me for making an effort to be convenient.

My dad randomly found this crab and seafood truck at the Exxon in front of the Walmart in Glen Burnie, he had been telling me how awesome the jumbo male crabs were. On Father's Day he said he didn't want to go to our normal spot, he wanted me to find jumbo or large males from here. He told me on a Friday and when I called Saturday morning they'd already had so many ordered called in that they couldn't confirm what they'd have available on Father's Day. I showed up as soon as they were open and stood in line, the first person wasn't clear or very friendly, he basically told me he had no idea how long I'd have to wait to figure out what was available after they sorted through the orders. I continued to stand in line, and I am glad I did! People started showing up and if I'd gotten in my car I got sure would have missed out. I finally asked a young lady about how orders in person would work, she quickly told me they did have jumbos available and I was good to go. I ran an errand while my jumbo males and medium females were steaming with corn and was on my way.
