From a distance the shelves look full, but up close there isn't much that stands out. Kind of a "Mona Lisa effect"--better from afar than up close. That said, the staff was friendly. One woman who worked there--short, wore glasses--was especially kind, though I didn't catch her name. The store is laid out nicely, and they had a lot of furniture available. If you're furniture shopping, this might actually be a good stop; the pieces looked decent and reasonably priced. They also appeared to use a color-tag discount system, though I'm not sure if it changes daily. About half the store was clothing, and the other half was bric-a-brac and furniture. I personally didn't find much this visit, but it could've just been an off day. I'd consider checking back in a couple of weeks to see if inventory changes. I did leave with one fun find: a vintage floating pool drink holder shaped like a rainbow, with space for ice and drinks--super cute and only $5. On the flip side, some prices felt off, like used wrapping paper priced at $3 when you can get a new roll at Dollar Tree for $1. Margaret Hames Nature Center is located in Turkey Creek Sanctuary in Palm Bay. The nature center…read moreopened in 1992 and was named in honor of Margaret Hames, a conservationist and teacher who was instrumental in developing and preserving Turkey Creek Sanctuary. The nature center is free and staffed by volunteers. It is open seven days a week from 9 AM to 4 PM. The center offers environmental education programs and nature day camps. Inside are displays on fossils, marine shells, Native American Pottery, and artifacts. There is a children's touch and explore table. Several mounted animals were donated to the center. You can get a map of the trails that run through Turkey Creek Sanctuary and purchase t-shirts and cold water and soda for $1 that support the sanctuary. There are also restrooms and welcoming air conditioning after a hot hike. I enjoyed chatting with the friendly volunteer who provided me with a map and tips on the trails. I really appreciate the volunteers who give so generously of their time. If you plan on hiking at Turkey Creek Sanctuary make time to stop in to the nature center where you can get a drink and some great information.

We also donated to this store many times over the years It's not the biggest or cleanest Goodwill I've been too and unfortunately it's more expensive than other local thrift stores in the area. Angels second chance has them beat by a mile with pricing. Due to this stores location, they do receive some great donations from locals. Today I found three beautiful round end tables with glass tops for $20 each. They were in excellent condition so it was a good deal. Stuff like this goes quick so it's good to stop in frequently to catch finds like this before someone else does. The staff here have always been friendly to me and they are helpful if you need assistance or have any questions. Alternatively, the staff could do a better job removing or discounting items that do not work or are broken. Today there were two collectable porcelain Christmas plates that had cracks in them selling for $5 each. Why even put them on the shelf?? There is a restroom in the back of the store but you have to ask a staff member to open it for you. There is no changing room to try on clothing, so be sure to only buy what you know will fit because they only offer a three day exchange on clothing. I like Goodwill; however, they need to lower the prices on some of this stuff if they want to move it. Yes, the whole color code tag discount works but they have some kitchen wares, books, DVDs, CDs, and knick knacks that have been here forever that just need to go and at the price they are selling them they are not going anywhere but here. All in all, it's a decent store and definitely worth the stop if you're shopping in the area.
