Caveat Emptor. I would advise you to read everything before you sign any papers. Take your time. Don't let anyone rush you to sign any paperwork or provide paperwork they say is necessary, but is not. Know your rights. Ask lots of questions. They won't like it, but you have to protect yourself, because they have no intention of protecting you. They are self-serving. Back out if it doesn't feel right. Beware if you plan to install a pool. Our box is on the opposite wall to the utility box in the back, and instead of running the house power line along the utility right-of-way along the fence line they ran it directly diagonal across the backyard - right where the pool is to be dug. The homes are not built with anything in mind but a dollar in Anglia's pocket. Concrete driveways are junk, A/C systems under size and they refuse to fix. Customer service is horrible. Never buy from Anglia homes. They will do whatever it takes not to put forth any effort under their warranty to remedy a situation , and leave you hanging every time. I have dealt with a faulty hot water heater system now for over a year. They have come out four different times resulting in four failed attempts to fix the issue. They recently informed me that they have FINALLY decided to replace the hot water system..... That was until today. They told me they want to troubleshoot it a fifth time and probably not replace it. This is both unprofessional and untrustworthy. It has cost me my time from work, and my free time with family. The workmanship behind everything that's ever been done to this house is shody. They use cheap materials and unskilled labor. Trust me. After 7 months of living here I even had mold around one of my vents in the bathroom and three other rooms in the house!!!!. This can cause a very unhealthy and hazardous situation and it took them a month, I repeat a month to remedy the situation from start to finish. I was without a laundry room and a guest bedroom for this whole time as it was taped up and plastic covering everything while they did their work. The job should have taken, and told me it would take only a week. It took three days shy of four weeks! The management they have there has no clue what they're doing, and will tell you anything just to please you while it's all behind a lie. NEVER BUY FROM ANGLIA HOMES! read more

How is this company still in business?! I would like to leave zero stars but I can not. The building process was a complete joke! Cringe worthy foreman / on site supervisor would not allow us to meet and go through the process covering up all the mistakes made along the way. As of now, we are feeling the ever lasting effects of bad craftmanship!! Such as the roof, all the external pipes were never sealed which caused extensive damage. Costing thousands of $ in repair. They get you to sign papers quick and you never hear from them again. We couldn't even get them to give us information about color schemes through out to do any touch ups. Electrical issues galore! We had to replace microwave 3x due to bad connections inside the walls and buried lines for cable outlets. The air handler deck in attic was not built to code. How did this house even pass inspections? I could go on with a lot of other problems we encountered but have had enough!! If you take anything from this review or the others here, it is simple. Bought a home from them last year. Seems great right up until they get your money. Terrible customer service. Only receive 2 stars because I like a couple things about the house, but overall there is a lot of shoddiness to the build behind the scenes. I visited a home under construction in its final stage in Kingwood. Upon entering the home I started to notice the sloppy work! There were moldings on stairway that didn't even touch(gaps) They obviously didn't measure angles and length correctly. Paint splattered over wood stained rail handles. These are things that says "stay clear of these builders", crappy and rushed work. There were so many other things that caught my attention negatively! When I told the sales guy about this he suddenly raised his voice in a defensive manner to over talk me as well. That was also a sign! Then I read the yelp reviews. Walk throughs mean nothing!!!!! I've been through that and it's all talk and no walk. They will promise to fix stuff and pressure you to sign paperwork. Then you will be forgotten and ignored. I don't want to make the same mistake as I did with my first house. That's why you should request to see a house under construction and not just the model homes. The truth will reveal itself with the construction homes. It's your money so make sure it's a quality built home and that you are respected! Condescending and disrespectful sales guy! Over talks the customer and raises his voice in an unprofessional manner. Needs customer service training and wasted our time when he didn't want to negotiate price on house we selected. I would recommend that NO ONE buy an Anglia Homes. I know a natural disaster hit our area however Anglia Homes has done nothing to help the communities they are building in. They refuse to even answer the phone or return phone calls. As I rip everything out of my house that our family has only been in for about 30 days. They are still building houses using the wood that was soaked by hurricane Harvey. A simple helping hand to help clean up would be greatly appreciated, but apparently Anglia Homes isn't even worried about safety using water soaked wood to build a house just doesn't feel right. Believe me when we say we will let anyone know that comes to look at these houses to wait and buy from Castle Rock. Wishing we would have waited. read more

If there would be a negative start rating that I could give to this company I would. I purchased my home in october and I regret every day doing business with these people, stay away and go to other builders where they would treat you better and you would receive a quality home for your money. they will lie to you from they one to try to get you to sign the contract, they will tell you the best things and treat you like if you are family, when you close on the house they will forget about you, and they wont even answer the phone calls. The quality of the house is terrible, they would use the cheapest products on your house, their warranty department is horrible, again they will lie to you from day one. Do not make the mistake of doing business with these people. I have leaks on the ceiling o the first day I moved into my house, the front door porch and the back porch floors all mess up. They will find excuses to not fix your stuff, for my porch floors they told me it was normal on every construction, that tells you the quality of the work they do. Again go to other builders and get a good quality home, avoid headaches and problems, because thats what these people is, they only care about the money, not the people. read more

We are on warranty claim number 11. Our main issue is that we are having electrical problems and it is an ongoing issue. We are living with the fear that our house is going to catch on fire from these issues. ANYONE reading this DO NOT BUY A HOME FROM ANGLIA HOMES. I am in the construction industry and they are hands down the on of the poorest builders I have seen work performed by. Our entire second floor sub floor had to be completely redone in 2 rooms and we need 4 more rooms floors repaired. All of our sub floors are warped. They used quick leveling concrete in every room on the floors and then they put carpet padding down while it was still wet. read more

I will start out by saying that I knew I was buying an Anglia home and I knew they were not going to be the highest quality. There is no way we could have afforded an almost-new house of that size otherwise. However, there is a big difference between something like cheaper flooring and substandard workmanship. Our house is five years old. We are the second owners. Our roof leaks in multiple places every time it rains. We have had multiple inspections and it has been determined that it is due to poor construction (which means the insurance company won't cover the replacement). I'm starting to see why the warranty is only good for a year and does not transfer to new owners. The company likely knows that their construction is crap. The insurance adjuster was shocked when I told her what the warranty was. She said that's the worst warranty she's ever seen. And now I'm reading about the cheap wiring in these other reviews. Am I going to have to worry about my house catching on fire now? You don't go cheap on stuff like that. Our AC was also leaking and the AC guy said it's because of the way the duct was installed (it's causing something to freeze and drip). Unless we have the duct rerouted, we're going to keep having that problem unless we make sure that both the upstairs and downstairs thermostats run at the same time. What's the point of having a zoned system if we have to have them both running at the same time? When I'm spending over a quarter-million dollars on a house, I don't necessarily need hardwood floors or a fancy tiled shower, but I expect a house that isn't a fire hazard with a roof that doesn't leak every time we have a few sprinkles. read more
