I found Ani through a random search on Yelp; took a look at her website, and voila! Ani is a hands-on photographer. She walks you through every step, pre, post and esp. during your shoot to ensure you are comfortable and getting what you want out of your session. She likes to spend the time to get to know her clients as she believes it enhances the photos (which it does) as there's a foundational relationship. I recommend that you read the link about her and how she likes to communicate. If you are used to the way most photographers do much of their communication via email, and through shared digital files, you might feel working with Ani is too hands on or time consuming. She likes to speak to her clients directly over the phone and to even do the photo selection process together. This is so that she meets every need and is all together more efficient with understanding her clients. But, if you're a fast paced, like everything via technology kind-of-person, the process with Ani might feel too involved. However, you will not be disappointed with your photos! Ani is an incredibly talented and a gentle soul. She has been so patient, thorough and accommodating throughout the entire experience. Her personable approach is what made us ultimately book with her. She kept in touch with us as our due date came and went and we were able to book a new date as our baby arrived 1 week late. When it came for the family photos, I was sweating profusely due to the hormones and a brewing infection. She was so kind, turning up the AC, fanning me and blotting my face. Having a photoshoot for your baby is a very thorough process with Ani because she is passionate about photography. I chose her because her photos were displayed at the birth center where I delivered and I liked her style and quality of work. Ani firstly is so beautiful! She's was so well put together and pretty when arriving for our session. She had all the equipment needed and knew what I was looking for through extensive consultations beforehand. She can work with almost any space in your home. PROS: -Very professional and personal service -Very sweet person overall, calm energy -Handles baby with natural instincts -Extremely patient -Cute props -Dealt with poop accidents no worries -Does not rush or make you feel so -Photos turned out great -Timely and constant communication -Great follow up CONS: My main reason for not giving 5 stars is her print pricing and release of photos policy. I was extremely disappointed to learn that you can't have any digital files of your own baby's photos. You must meet with her and pick the ones you like and buy them through her only, and they are much more costly than what you've come to know prices to be at say, Costco Photo or even Shutterfly. Even more disappointed to learn that after paying hundreds of dollars for a few photo prints, I still couldn't have the digital files for even those photos that I paid dearly for on top of the session price itself. It was such a bummer to know that probably a hundred photos were taken of my baby, and I couldn't have any of them, even to keep in a dusty folder on my desktop. This policy meant that for someone like me on a budget, I had to sit and make hard decisions on which photos to buy the smallest possible print for, while letting the others that I liked go, because I couldn't pay $55-$475 for every single one I liked. I picked my favorite one and paid $185 for that 16x20 then picked some smaller ones at $55 each. I didn't like the texture of the print either. They're called "fine art prints" but feel like a hardened laminate posterboard with some kind of crosshair texture (hard to explain). After a $280 session fee it starts to really add up. You do have the option to get 15 retouched digital files for your own printing freedom for a whopping $1,200. This was such a big deal to me because I'm so sentimental and letting go of every photo taken of my baby because I couldn't pay such marked up print costs was heartbreaking. She gives you a webshare low resolution digital file to ensure you can't have it printed without looking terrible, but can email to friends and family for fun. The only other con to report is that she needed my help with the shoot. Holding the baby in position, sometimes awkwardly squatting to do so for extended periods, and after just having had a baby all natural with no medication, I was exhausted and couldn't even sit without pain let alone kneel and squat to help with the shoot, but did it anyway because I cared about the photos turning out nicely. She might have asked because I seemed cool and maybe if I said I was in pain she would have figured it out herself but the things I was asked to do needed to be done honestly, so she should have an assistant. If you have no budget, Ani is perfect because she otherwise is a wonderful photographer and kind person. read more

We picked out Ani after going through a few photographers that specialized in newborn in the Los Angeles area. In the end, we selected Ani to take our new born baby girl because of her unique photo design. Our baby came almost 3 weeks early, we were worried that she would not have time for us, but she did and we were able to do our session 5 days after on short notice. Ani really prepared us for the session by giving us questionnaire ahead so we can think about what we want out of the session. This made the session more productive. On the day of the session, Ani took over 5 hours with our daughter in her studio. This is much different from other photographers that are always on a clock with set time. We went through multiple backgrounds, poses and accessories. It took about a month before our photos were ready. We really loved the album with the custom messages to our daughter. The photo quality was amazing. Overall, Ani was great and we would love to work with her again. Yeah, she is pricey, but its well worth the money in the end. I had Ani photograph my two nieces as a birthday gift for them. They are 3 and 5. It was a great experience working with her from the very first phone call. She explained the entire process to me, went over the pricing and gave me couple of options for the gift certificate. We booked a photo session with Ani shortly after our due date, but then baby arrived two weeks early. I contacted Ani after getting home from the hospital and she was able to get us in within a few days. Ani is AMAZING with babies! She was able to get our little one to stay calm and sweet the entire photo session. She is seriously the baby whisperer. My husband and I just stood there in awe as she lulled our baby to sleep instantly and put her in the cutest poses without a fuss. We ended up with so many adorable photos of our baby. We are so happy we found Ani to capture our newborn photos!! We are pretty sure she's a baby whisperer in addition to being a very patient and talented photographer! Being new parents, we didn't think it would be necessary to invest in newborn photos. Once our son turned two weeks old, we realized we were wrong and found ourselves scrambling to find a photographer to capture these precious moments for us. There were several photographers that had immediate dates available (due to smart parents who booked early but delivered early, freeing up their tentative time slot), but once I connected with Ani via phone, I knew she'd be the right photographer for us. She was very sweet and patient while my son cried in the background of our first call, and she was very thorough in getting to know us. To plan for the shoot, she wanted to better understand our son's temperment and also asked about our home design aesthetic to ensure the props and colors chosen would match our decor. She explained the process and pricing up front so we knew what to expect before we got to the shoot. She sent via email all the detail we discussed so I could reference if needed as well. Her attention to detail in the planning process was so thoughtful and more than I could have expected. The couple days leading up to the shoot our son became VERY fussy; lots of cries and resistant to nap time. We thought it would be impossible for Ani to capture any shots where he wasn't crying. We couldn't have been more wrong! Ani took her time with our son, handling him very gently and helping him relax. We were in disbelief when our son slept almost the entire 4 hours we were at the studio. It was so cozy, even my husband fell asleep for a nap on one of the couches she has available for the parents to relax on. We even took away a few tricks from her that have been invaluable to get our son to relax at home! About two weeks later, Ani set up an additional in studio review of all the shots. The photos were gorgeous, making it difficult to narrow down to the favorites but with her help and suggestions, we were able to make the tough decisions. She's been a great communicator throughout the process, letting us know how long retouching takes, as well as for the actual prints to come back. We loved working with Ani. The journey to starting a family was a surprise in the best of ways! Not to be a drag but the entirety of my family has always struggled with mental illness, so naturally having kids just seemed completely out of the question. When the pandemic forced the world to shut down, I finally worked through my father's death due to his mental illnesses and I realized then that he gave me the gift to discover myself and learn from his mistakes. My partner of 12 years and I decided it was time to freeze my eggs only to find out I was expecting and I knew that was a gift from him and God. After doing research online and comparing a few photographers we decided to choose Ani to capture our newborn daughter's first photos. And let me tell you- it was the best decision!! I loved how thorough and organized Ani was right from the get go. Let me star by saying that I can't recommend her enough for newborn photoshoot. We love our photos and keep sharing them with our familiy. Can't believe how angelic and serene our baby looks there. Ani truly is TALENTED at what she does!! We had photos taken of our 21 month old daughter for the first time.
