    Backyard garden & cafe

Omg 10/10 this is an apothecary dream! I came here and got a few gifts (skin care products and loose leaf teas) for my sister and also popped into the back courtyard (dreamy garden oasis hidden in the back with lots of space and greenery) and got a delectable matcha bevy. They have all sorts of goodies here from skin care to crystals to loose leaf teas to sage bundles and then an entire little outdoor cafe in the back with drinks and light bites as well. The staff were all super friendly and calming; I would absolutely pop in here for a weekend read and matcha or to stock up on teas/ gifts for friends.

This is a beautiful hidden oasis for anyone devoted to alternative ways to care for body and mind. If you're skeptical but curious, it's a great place to explore. I've followed Anima Mundi online for years and was thrilled when a shop opened nearby. It's truly a gem with an abundance of apothecary items to support a wide range of needs. On my first visit, I bought the "Happiness" herbal coffee and coconut creamer. As a daily espresso drinker, I wasn't sure how I'd feel switching it up -- but I was pleasantly surprised. The focus and calm energy lasts for hours, and I feel less chaotic during the day. I'm not giving up espresso, but I'll keep this in the rotation. I also tried the Blue Rose Latte, a concoction made with butterfly pea, blue lotus, rose, coconut cream, and plant milk of choice, and took home the "Pain Free" shot. The herbalists were informative and kind. I didn't feel the shot right away, but I slept deeply and had temporary relief from chronic pain the next day. There are a few more things I'd like to try, especially the Liver Vitality Greens -- so I'll definitely be back.

If you're looking for organic teas and overall holistic wellnes, you have to visit this hidden gem in Venice. Parking can be a challenge, but worth circling around a few times. Go to the garden in the back, order a delicious hand crafted cup of Java, hang out for a bit or explore the store in the front. Knowledgeable and friendly staff....ask away!

Anima Mundi Apothecary is a stunning haven that houses multiple buildings and a gorgeous courtyard. This was my first time visiting this little paradise, to attend Lotem Porat's Samhain Ceremony/Women's Circle. I had previously done a few soundbaths with Lotem in a group setting, and have been deeply moved by her approach to spiritual healing and her intuitiveness in our brief interactions. Still, I wasn't ready for the fully comprehensive experience she'd prepared for us, which was present the moment I stepped into the courtyard. To be able to balance breathwork, healing work, and taking great care of everyone in attendance with such leadership functions as preparing readings, leading sharing sessions, staying on schedule, controlling music, etc. is remarkable, and Lotem does so with ease. My experience with Lotem's Ceremony at Amina Mundi has stayed with me in a way that is well worth the price, and then some. I'm so profoundly grateful to have experienced it, and I cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone reading this.

Venice's hidden treasure! I almost don't want to review it so people don't flock here, but I can't gatekeep. This calming sanctuary and apothecary store has a hidden backyard cafe and garden with zen vibes. Their drinks are great, they offer a range of coffees and cocktails/mocktails. I ordered the Mexican cocoa and it has unexpected, and rich flavor! The staff is super friendly and recommended yummy bevs. They have WiFi so it's the perfect place to get some quiet work done. 10/10 recommend!

I waited a good 4 months before writing this review, for no reason other than pure selfishness. I was reluctant to share my favorite tea oasis, gently hidden on an otherwise busy street, and my favorite go to for work, sound bath workshops, snd the simple art of chillaxing. To call it "a vibe" would be an insult. It is "zen" in any format, any context, and at any time. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, but just in the store front, but also in the back tea oasis. They solved my horrendous inflammation and sinus problems that tortured me since last November, and I now breathe and feel amazeballs. For those seeking a quiet workplace, they do have WiFi, but no power outlets, so bring an extra power cell to keep your laptop charged. Love love LOVE this place!

Took it back a few days later and not only could they not find my purchase but it took the manager forever to not find my purchase. The manager didn't ask to spell my name or ask if I paid with another card. In fact, she acted like it was my fault the bottle wasn't empty? For example, the manager asked if I purchased the bottle unsealed. I didn't but also why would they sell an unsealed bottle? By the way, the bottle looked ancient and the top was discolored where the seal didn't cover it. Horrible customer service. No refund or new bottle offered. Instead of acting apologetic the manager was accusatory. I didn't realize I had to check to make sure the bottle wasn't EMPTY! Please don't go here! In a world where you can buy anything online and receive great customer service and refunds, what does this store have to offer? Sadly, if I had purchased this off of Amazon, I would not be $20 short. If you want to shop local, a wider selection of flower essences and herbs are offered at co-opportunity market just down the street. I love alternative remedies but I'm disappointed by my experience of this store. I truly regret shopping here.

It's usually been an older crowd that's wanted whatever health products were popular 10-20 years ago. At one point during the late 90's and early 00's, it was tremendously popular with the celebrity class of LA, and it was Erewhon before there was Erewhon. It has since drifted into a more relaxed, slightly frumpier incarnation now in 2026. As you can see from all the 1 and 5 star reviews, it's a place that inspires both stubborn loyalty and intense frustration in equal measure, and I think that about sums up experience for the uninitiated. You'll see that I've split the difference with this 3 star review in an attempt to capture reality. This is far from a perfect grocery store -- the prices are high, a lot of the produce is not looking so good, the milk is always about to expire, the aisles are poorly organized, they're missing lots of things you want. But it's also a real co-op and not a chain, it's possible to eat healthfully from here, and they are extremely responsive to their member's (numerously and frequently delusional and extremely SaMo) requests. The angry reviews about bad service here are overblown; I've been here dozens of times and never had a problem. And as long as it's member-owned, it can always change for the better very quickly, which I've seen happen here before, and may happen again. Personally, my reason for not shopping here is just the poor organization of the store overall, selection of dry goods which are widely second-rate to me, and shabby, soon-to-be-expiring produce and perishables attached to a luxury price. I see no reason to shop here when I have the SaMo farmer's market AND better organized specialty stores like Erehwon or McCall's right near by -- which are, despite what numerous reviews here desperately proclaim, the exact same price point as Co-Opportunity. I hope this clears up why the reviews here are all-over-the-place, it's because the store is too!
