You can tell everyone in this veterinary center really love their jobs and are very willing to help you with your pet. I can't see myself taking any current or future pets to any place but this one. They do take time to diagnose and treat your pet. My pets have been treated very well. Dr. Corfman has treated one of our pets with a very serious illness and took time to do everything to help heal her. He always cleans my pets wounds. I took my cat to see Dr. David Corfman after he had been missing for 8 days and returned home with a traumatic injury to his paw. Dr. Corfman did not clean the wound, did not prescribe pain medication, failed to notice upper respiratory symptoms, did not use x-rays and instead used palpation to mis-diagnose my cat's fractures, and then sent my cat home with 14 days of oral antibiotics. Due to his neglicence, I took my cat into our regular vet (who was closed at the time of cat's return) and she performed emergency surgery to amputate my cat's digits only 5 days after seeing Dr. Corfman. Had I only relied on Dr. Corfman's opinion and treatment alone and not sought appropriate treatment by a more skilled/knowledgable vet, my cat would have died from infection. Dr. Corfman never apologized for his mistreatment of my cat, nor did Animal Care Center of Forest Park. In fact, the only representative with whom I was directed to speak was the practice attorney who offered to pay my bills so long as I agreed to sign a nondisclosure release agreement, which I did not. During the time following this incident, I also learned that Dr. Corfman has mis-represented his quaifications on this company website and on the Ohio State Licensing Board website stating he specialty licensed by ABVP. When I called the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners to file a complaint, I was informed he has not renewed his specialty licensure. Dr. Corfman is currently being investigated by the Ohio State Vet Licensing Board for malpractice. read more

I have to add there are to many reviews COMPLAINING about cost when we are all adults and can read the terms of the "wellness plain" or just the cost of there care.They put them in writing an YOU should always ask the cost before they do something if the vet you see does not tell you upfront like Dr. Corfman does. read more

I am very disappointed in Animal Care Center on Winton Rd in Forest Park. We got a new puppy in June and took him there for his shots. In July when he was due for vaccines again, we were talked into purchasing a "wellness plan" for $29.99/month. Per their website, the plan we are on covers "nail trim". We took our dog in today for a nail trim and after they were done we were told that because it took 3 people to hold him down that we had to pay $22....this is after they just charged me $29.99 yesterday for my wellness plan. AND we paid $13 to them yesterday for 1 tablet of trazodone to calm him for the trim. We paid for July, August, and September - never used the service - but still needed to pay $22 for a nail trim?!?!? They said only one nail trim PER YEAR is included in the plan. So basically, we paid $110 and all we got was a nail trim. And to top it off...his nails don't even appear to be trimmed at all. read more

While I had to initiate the call, two days after the incident I spoke with management at the facility who apologized for the actions of their staff. The person that left me standing at the door while she was supposedly getting help was reprimanded. I was offered a free boarding, which I declined. My dogs had been scheduled to be fixed that following week. While I thought seriously about canceling that appointment and finding another vet, I decided to keep it as Dr. Lisa has performed countless surgeries on various dogs of mine over the decades. When I arrived I was informed that all the fees over and beyond what my wellness plan covered were being waived, including about $400 that was tied to hernia surgery that was being performed at the same time on one of my dogs. I totally was not expecting that. The woman that left me standing asked permission to come and apologize to me. She was very remorseful and rambled longer than needed about how much she regretted her actions. At one point she used the phrase, if I had known it was you I would have let you in. Well I didn't correct her, but I'd like to think no one, brand new client or established, would be turned away within one minute of closing. I will continue to use Dr. Lisa as long as she's working, but I am going to search for a boarding facility closer to my home. Most of my travels involve flying out of CVG, 15 minutes south of my home. I'm traveling 25 mins north to drop them off. I have used them for that service once since this incident and I'm accepting the reality that the distance is just too inconvenient plus the atmosphere when I walked in was strained and will be forever tainted. read more

It's a no from me, dawg. First off one of the family dogs have a accident and I had to take out a credit card with them to cover the expensive a$$ visits + X-rays. The dog has been in its casts since LATE OCTOBER LAST YEAR, and they have yet to even change their bandages! We've took it to the vet for check ups and they haven't even changed the soiled a$$ bandages. How are you going to x-ray a dogs leg without taking off the bandages?? They haven't actually checked to reset the leg or anything. On top of that, they aren't even communicating well cause they had messed up on the paperwork. The first visit after the incident, the vet literally just "felt" the leg through the cast and said its healing great and should be able to remove the casts the next month (Check up was in Nov, so would've gotten casts off few days before Christmas) FAST FOWARD TO DECEMBER. We're all excited to get the casts off, but they suddenly tell us the leg isn't healing at well and to keep them on longer. Okay, fine. Little ODD that you went from positive to negative but okay. It's now Jan of the new year. Dog goes for a visit, Doc says the leg isn't healing at all and recommends amputation. WTF? The dog can walk and all with no issue! The dog likes to play with the other family dog and chase them around the house. So you can imagine what a surprise it was to hear that! The dog has been x-rayed maybe 3-4 times, within the span of 4 months. Not *once* did they even offer to change the bandages-- which shouldn't even be a issue cause they SHOULD be changing OBVIOUSLY soiled bandages. On top of THAT, the doc says there's something wrong with dogs teeth. I brought it to attention that its gums were indeed a little inflamed, but nothing serious. The dog has a couple extra teeth, doc recommends pulling them-- but not at the same time as the neuter/spay appointment? If you're going to knock out the dog for that, you might as well pull the teeth at the same time! (I don't even believe the teeth actually needs to be pulled. It doesn't keep the dog from eating nor does it show discomfort when eating.) OVERALL-- AVOID THIS PLACE. The plans are overpriced for the sh!t service, while the vet assistants are nice, the doctors or whoever seem to be extremely negligent, money hungry liars! read more

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Lisa for decades now. She is very caring as well as professional and goes above the call of duty. When my daughter was in scouts years ago, she let the entire troop come visit and gave a little talk about what they do. It was much appreciated. Dr. Lisa has seen our various pets through maintaining their health, sicknesses and helped us with our decisions when it was time to let them go. The place is always clean and the staff friendly. As a matter of fact, my yellow lab gets so excited when she realizes where we are when I take her in for her wellness visits. That says a lot! read more

I will never consider another vet for my cat! I am so pleased with the care and compassion shown by everyone in the office. My cat recently hurt his hip-evidently they don't always land on their feet. He's a big scaredy-cat and we had to give him a calming medication so the staff could get him out of his carrier to examine him. Dr Jay was so thorough in his explanation, which was very reassuring. He suggested we wait on X-rays and start with oral pain medicine. It took almost 10 days but my cat is walking without a limp and seems to be on the road back to his usual sweet self. The wellness plan paid for itself with this issue alone! It's a small monthly charge, but knowing I don't have to pay for office visits is such a relief. All his shots and yearly bloodwork, too. Just a great budget saver and stress reducer. Can't recommend this place enough. I know why they are #1!! read more

When I brought our cat Tallulah in she was gasping for breath, in heart failure. Dr. Corfman immediately diagnosed her and got her on oxygen and Lasix to relieve her symptoms. Once our kitty was stabilized the doctor explained what was happening and what we would need to do to care for her. Treatment and medication options were explained in a thorough manner. The technicians told such good care of Tallulah, they were so gentle and caring. They were very kind to my husband and me as well. Tallulah's nose had pink lipstick on it from the sweet tech who had given her so many kisses! I wish I could remember her name, I was so upset that it is kind of a blur. There was one small mix-up with regards to the medication we were sent home with. We thought it was only 2 different meds, but it was actually 3. Someone had called us before we even got home to say we needed to come back and get the other prescription. So, a small amount of confusion on our part but it easily remedied and not a big deal. Our kitty is home, and recuperating. I know she has a chronic condition that needs care and monitoring, and I feel capable of handling that, due in great part to the care and advice from Dr. Corfman. read more

Our family pets were patients at Animal Care Center for more than 20 years.   On July 1, 2016 our dog, Mr. Bean, underwent a dental cleaning.  Four days later on July 5th he had a seizure as I held him.  We called ACC and said we were bringing him straight there.  They said no, they couldn't see him because they were short staffed due to the holiday.  They suggested that we take him to the animal hospital nearby.  Even after explaining about his recent dental treatment at THEIR office, we were still turned away.  We headed to the hospital and from the car, we called ACC once more and, again, we were turned away by a different secretary.   After hearing our story, the staff at the hospital was stunned that ACC refused to see us.  The hospital did the best they could without his records, recent x-rays, and details of what happened during the dental cleaning.  Mr. Bean did not recover.  Later that day, we had to make the heart wrenching decision to tell him goodbye.  I do believe that ACC has good doctors.  In my opinion,  those in charge of the business side have lost their way.  No more large companies for our family. read more

I'm originally from Cinci, but moved to Chicago as an adult and I still keep Animal Care Center as my primary care vet for all yearly maintenance and preventative care for my dog Baxter. We used this facitlity for our family Dalmatians when I was growing up, and as an adult living a few states away, I still can't imagine doing business with any other facility, unless an emergency arises and I am unable to get back to Cinci. I've never had a poor experience with any of the staff, from the receptionists, to the techs, to the vets. This place is really top notch. I take advantage of the Healthy Pet Program and it is SUCH a value. It's MORE than worth it, even factoring in that I have to make the drive back from Chicago to Cinci for all the shots, tests, and dental cleanings. When Bax has procedures, they call in the following days and weeks to check in and are always available to answer any questions or concerns. Over the years, I've probably seen Dr. Lisa and Dr. David the most and I just couldn't ask for better care for my pets! read more

Horrible service, the staff is always rude and not well trained. I have 2 dogs both on the "wellness" plan which is a rip off. This plan doesn't save money and actually costs more for services you will never use. I also bordered my dogs for a weekend. When I picked them up both of them smelled and were sick the next day. I called to cancel my plan but was told only ONE person was in charge of that and would call me back. I asked if I would for sure get a call back because my dogs plan was ending in 2 days and I don't want it to renew automatically. She said there was a note stating not to renew on my account. I never got a call back. Also their google review rating is not to be trusted. For every bad review they get there is a new 5 star review right behind it. They must see the bad one and even it out by posting a great one immediately. Stay away from this place! Very rude, dirty and unorganized. read more
