I took my cat to him for a problem. He took her into the back room and did something. Several minutes later, he called us back and the cat was on the floor, gasping for air. He gave me a bunch of medicine and I left. The next morning, the cat was found dead. As to this date, I still dont know what happen. I returned the medicine which was never open and he refused to give me credit. He stated that after the incident in which someone put poison in the capsules and put them back of the shelf for resale, a law was pasted that NO medicine or ointment can be returned. I needed to get my elderly cats to a full service vet as they are both ancient. My cat Abraham had been puking buckets of water on the daily and I just knew he had renal failure like his mom. Dr. Jones saw him first and palpated deep in his belly and felt a mass. They were able to immediately draw labs, run an x ray, and ultrasound... and sure enough my furbaby was overwhelmed with a gigantic tumor. They were able to schedule him for emergency surgery as this thing was pressing on all his organs and making him anemic. The surgery was a success!!! Even better news this was a freak tumor that was not caused by an underlying disease process. Dr Brown performed the surgery and Madison was there to assist. The whole team was phenomenal. Later my little Evey needed a tooth pulled and a cyst extracted. Both my pets recovered. Abraham still needs care and they are incredible with helping my boy with his other health needs. I'm pleased with the professionalism, effectiveness, and kindness my pets received. read more

Not worth even trying to utilize their services. They've closed their lobby to all customers and reduced hours because of 'staff shortage.' Their solution is to make you phone them from your cell and wait in your car instead. Today was 93 degrees with sun beating down and no shade anywhere in their lot. We had a good experience here once but clearly they no longer want our business. If the doctors read this I hope it helps them understand why they will soon be out of work. Summary: Dishonest thieves who don't listen to the owner or provide services as requested, TORTURE your animal and then lie about it and charge for items that aren't consented to either. I'm in the process of moving and needed to get my dogs nails trimmed, but my current vet couldn't get my dog in for over a month because she needs to be sedated due to a severe issue with anyone touching her paws and clipping/using a Dremel on her nails. So I called the Animal Care Center as soon as I woke up, explained the situation and the first person tried to schedule an appointment that day in a few hours after I called. Not thinking, I made the appointment then realized an hour later I couldn't take that because my dog had already eaten. So I called back to reschedule and got her in the next day. My partner took her in at 7a to be sedated, get her nails trimmed, and be available for pick up within a few hours. They called him about an hour later saying she was free to be picked up. He told me right away and I said that doesn't sound right - the vet usually monitors her after she's been sedated. He went to pick her up and they gave him trazodone (which we didn't need because we already have a bottle.) I told him we didn't need that, but they didn't take it off and still charged him for it. He said they didn't take CareCredit either, so I called Animal Care Center and she told me the same thing and then said it's been taken care of on the CareCredit card. It wasn't. It was charged to my partners debit card. Looking on their site, I do see it says they don't take CareCredit, which is fine, but she told me she got it taken care of on the CareCredit card. I was told it was supposed to be around $150 for this because they hadn't seen her before and had to do a wellness check which was $40-$60 (can't remember off hand.) It was about half that and I asked why it was much cheaper and they told me they "didn't need to sedate her." I asked what happened and she told me my dog "just thrashed around a lot, but ultimately let them cut her nails." Then someone in the background said something I couldn't make out and she came back and said, "oh, I misspoke, she was fine and just grumbled." I've had my dog for 5 years. She has severe anxiety and I know she didn't just grumble at them. I have a deep feeling she backtracked her words because she was told not to tell me that after them not doing what I asked them to do with sedating her. Every time she needs her nails trimmed and she hasn't been sedated, she's blown out her coat, defecates, gets severely anxious, and can snap. Sedation is unfortunately the best option for her. So, without asking me they did whatever they did (they don't allow you in there, so I don't know what they did for sure other than not what I asked them to) and gave her back almost immediately (thank goodness, honestly.) My partner gets home and her nails AREN'T EVEN CUT. One paw is COMPLETELY UNTOUCHED. There are random nails on other paws that are untouched, as well. On top of that, my dog chewed THROUGH HER LEASH in two spots. My dog is NOT a chewer. This was due to her severe anxiety . My dogs actions do NOT align with the FABLE I was told of her "being just fine and just grumbling." I went back later that day to return the leash that was given to us in place of the one my dog destroyed after being TORTURED. I also wanted to return the trazodone that we didn't consent to purchasing, but they couldn't take it back (not even for disposal) due to federal law, which I understand. The problem with that is that I didn't consent to getting medication or being charged for it. This place is an absolutely nightmare. They're dishonest, didn't even provide the services I asked for and the services they rendered on their own weren't even completed and then they charged me for items I never consented to either. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS TO ANIMAL CARE CENTER BECAUSE THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL. read more

We recently took our dog there to have an elective mouth surgery and during the surgical consultation they took his blood but not run a test on it because they said it was a "communication error on their secretaries part". They proceeded to do the surgery with anesthesia and in turn my dog has been very sick ever since (about 4 weeks post surgery now). We took him back in for a blood test and when they went over the results with us, they could tell that he is sick but could not say what was causing it. I am severely disappointed. I have been taking my dog here for a very long time. Before my cat passed away, I brought her here. My pets aways seemed to like Dr. Philip Brown and did not at all seem to fear him when brought in for annual visits. I took a week-long trip in January and boarded my dog here. When I picked her up she absolutely reeked, and her fur was matted. I honestly brushed it off at the time because I happened to take a trip during an ice storm, so I figured with the weather she was not given much play time outside and I assumed any time she did get to go out it was muddy. I just picked my dog up this morning from another week-long boarding trip and same thing, she reeked, paws were muddy, fur was matted/tangled, and to top it all off I did not get the leash that I dropped her off with. Recently, my husband dropped off our dogs to board for the night, The receptionist said that they did not have updated vaccination records for one of our dogs so my husband called me from the facility to let me know. Within ten minutes the updated records had been faxed to them. I had called the receptionist to let her know they were being faxed over immediately, and she said everything was good. When my husband picked up the dogs the next day, we were billed for $132 for vaccinations, examinations, etc., totally uncalled for and without even notifying me that they were doing that. I called them to complain about the charges, and the receptionist said there was no one there I could talk to and hung up on me. I finally was able to talk to the vet who admitted it was their fault and he would put a check in the mail that day. Over the next several weeks I called them about not receiving the check and was given the runaround and told three times that the check had been sent when it wasn't. I finally got reimbursed after three weeks. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. I took my dog in today to get his eye checked out. My normal vet is in my hometown, but I was told to bring him somewhere in Springfield just to make sure it wasn't anything serious. While I was there only for his eye, he made a comment about how my dog was being overfed (even though my other vet suggested that amount and he is in no way overweight since you can still see his ribs). He then told me he would need to be put on calcium pills for his ears since he's a German Shepard and they haven't gone up yet. He's only 11 weeks old and if you know anything about German Shepard's, ears can take up to 6 months to go up. Even after talking to our primary vet, she INSISTED to not put a puppy on calcium pills. When I declined the medicine, he furthermore told me that my dog was an aggressive breed and I needed to handle him or he would become an issue later on. I appreciated everything that they did for us, but I felt like I was treated as if I was kid because he's my first dog. I will not be going back. read more

I work in the customer service industry and as such I anticipate and expect good customer service from other places.on Friday the 27th I took my dog Oscar to Animal Care Center with an allergy concern. I was then taken to a exam room where they then came in and took Oscar to the back room. About 15-20 minutes later they brought him back and they advised the vet would be in after a few minutes. The vet came in and advised she had examined oscar in the back and he was "infested" with fleas, the vet could not provide evidence of this but I trusted the vet and did what they told be to which involved buying $75 worth of flea medicine for 1 month. Which with the vet visit totaled $105. After going home I immediately washed Oscar, Eva, and Duncan in Dawn and gave them the medicine to my surprise, they had absolutely no fleas. Still left with the issue I took Oscar to another vet and was advised Oscat had dry skin and an allergy issue. I reached back out Animal Car Center explained the concern and was advised I would get a call back. 2 days later with no call back I reached back out and was advised they would call the next day, next day no call so I called back, and was advised I should be getting a call the next day. The next day no call I called back when I was again advised I would be getting a call back the next day. Today I called back after receiving no call and was advised by the poor receptionist they had sent a letter and would not talk with me over the phone. All I asked for at first was a phone call of apology, now I want my money back and a phone call of apology. I personally will never go to that vets office again and I would recommend the same for all of you. I have never been treated more horribly, but my full respect goes to the poor receptionist who had to deliver this news to me. read more
