My first Lhasa Apso was my first visit and Dr Wilheight gave me six more years with my special dog. 6 vets did not help him much; however Dr Wilheight knew what was wrong in less than 30 minutes. I took my other Lhasa Apso there and have been totally satisfied. I have recommended many friends that absolutely love them. Push services that are not needed. Even when I asked for clarification if "all this is necessary" I was told yes. Went to get a second opinion about the only concern I took my dog in for only to find out I was over charged for items that were not needed. If you have endless amounts of money this is probably a good vet. read more

They missed my dogs diabetes, even after the blood work clearly stated high glucose levels and an extremely high bill. She got really sick as a result and when we took her back, we were told to take her to an emergency vet for treatment. The emergency vet nailed the diabetes, and gave her treatment until our NEW vet has successfully got her back to normal. I suggest you go somewhere different. They only want A LOT for not much! read more

Been going to this vet for years. Always overpriced, but otherwise appreciated the staff and nice atmosphere. However, in the last visit they charged me $400+ for labs without telling me that they were unable to get the sample necessary for the majority of the labs. When I asked for a refund, they said it was a "package deal" from the labs, that I couldn't get any refund, and implied I should be grateful that they went with the cheaper option of lab work. Asked for my cat's full medical file so I can finally go to a different vet. Stay away. read more

I brought my dog in for a limp & ended up having to take him in to Blue Pearl Specialty for more X-rays which led to a osteosarcoma diagnosis, a leg amputation & now chemo treatments. I am smh at the audacity of this clinic. There are so many reasons why I stopped taking my dogs here but I will list a few: 1) They charge $60 for an exam EVERY time you take your pet in no matter what it's for. Even if it's just for vaccines. I called around and couldn't find many places that do this. The place I'm taking my girls back to only charges for the vaccines (and I called and double-checked) vaccines are the same price. So $60 down the toilet. But hey we're in Milton so they figure we have money to flush. 2) My dog was having an allergic reaction to Simparico trio. I took her in and told them I need something different. What do they do? They give her the SAME exact ingredient that's in Simparico but in shot form. And 12x stronger. I took her home, and she immediately started throwing up and pooping blood. I rushed her back to the clinic, and they said "oh, she had an allergic reaction because it's the same ingredient this in Simparico. But we wanted to give it a try." They then treated her for dehydration and allergic reaction and charged me again for their mistake. So not only did I pay for a shot she should've never had I had to pay for them to fix their mistake. 3) I forgave that major faux pas, and took her in for a skin rash. They did not take a culture at that time, and gave me some medication. They charged me for the medication and office visit. Of course the skin rash did not get better. I had to take her in again. At the time they finally took a culture, and then gave me the second medication, stating that this medication might not help, but we might as well start it until we get the culture back in a week. So another office visit charge and 2nd medication charge. I took her home and gave her her medication. A week later I get a call, and... Shocker.... she's going to need another medication because the medication they gave me at that time was not going to work against her skin infection. I went and picked up this medication and it cost $100. So at this point I was on a third round of antibiotics and like $550 into a resolution for a skin rash. Needless to say, this place is highway robbery. They don't care about your pet, they care about their paycheck. This place is convenient and new but boy are you gonna pay. I am going to tell everyone I can not to take their sweet babies here. That is how strongly I feel about this place. read more

I brought my female kitty into the clinic for surgery to remove crystals and stones in her urethra and on a female kitty, a complex and risky surgery. I decided not to have the clinic do the surgery after speaking to Dr. Ford because I could tell she was not comfortable doing the surgery. The clinic charged me over $900.00 for tests the clinic claimed to have done. I have two problems with the Animal Wellness Clinic. When I got Tinsel (My kitty), I was told she was a girl. The UGA Small Animal Emergency hospital agreed to perform the surgery, and after 10 minutes, the Dr. prepped Tinsel for the surgery and informed me Tinsel was a boy cat. My pet insurance company Nationwide told me and some members of Tinsel's UGA team wondered why the Animal Wellness Clinic did not uncover that Tinsel was a boy kitty with all the tests the clinic claimed to have performed. They never drained Tinsel's bladder, putting her in danger of dying. The UGA Dr. told me I arrived in the nick of time because her bladder was full. I have a real problem with Dr. Ford not draining Tinsel's bladder. The clinic would not give her back to me until I paid them the $900.00 plus dollars. The tech at the Animal Wellness Clinic claimed Tinsel had urinated, which was not an emergency. read more

I called on a Sunday in a panic and Dr Bonnie took her in, she stayed for the day and i was updated hourly from Dr Bonnie by text. I took her home and the next day it was worse, her stomach and liver were not working and I thought i would loose her. No other vet like this! We have been to several vets in the Alpharetta area, and every one of them has been ok, but nothing special. Dr. Bonny Willhite and her staff at Animal Wellness Clinic is pretty amazing. About 6 months ago we started going here with our 3 dogs. At first we had regular visits for vaccines, an ear infection etc. we've always been able to get our dogs in, and never placed on long holds. Recently one of our standard poodles had a cough, and we brought him in. X-rays of his lungs showed he was very sick, but had just started symptoms. Dr. Willhite immediately got him started on fluids, and antibiotics and he stayed there all day. She then made arrangements for him to go to an overnight clinic, and back to her first thing in the morning. It was a very intense 5 days of treatment. We ended up bringing him to Blue Pearl Midtown. Rusty continued to show no improvement and sadly passed away. There is no question he had something else "huge" going on, that was hidden. Dr. Willhite never left us through every day of this journey. She coordinated his care, personally followed up with each vet, and spoke with us day and night. Her staff carried him into our car, and when they saw us carrying him in, they helped us get him in ASAP. Every single staff member there cares. After Rusty passed, Dr. Willhite reached out to me. We were devastated, and she and her staff were as well. We brought in our other 2 dogs right away to have them checked out and tested as a precaution. They are perfectly fine! When we arrived with our other standard poodle, we were met with true compassion and kindness, much more than I expected. Dr. Bonny is the only vet we have ever and will ever see! She's the sweetest person ever and absolutely adores each of her patients. She's very knowledgeable and takes lots of time with each appointment to answer all of your questions. She's also very good about seeing you last minute if your pet is having an issue. The techs and receptionists are just as great... they even call the day after your appointment to check on your pet. My dog gets anxious going to the vet, but she loves seeing her favorite people there! They make the experience as comfortable as possible for her. read more
