We've been going to this vet for over 14 years! They have taken such good care of our dogs.

20 years ago I used them, they lost bloodwork taken and then during retake (with different dr) they suggested I put my cat down. I moved back to their side of town and decided to give them another try. Have a cat with common, treatable condition. Four different visits, four different drs, none agreed with the other on treatment plan, flip flopped on promises to treat via phone, and after much research didn't even suggest the most common form of treatment (vaccination). Young, inexperienced and flaky practice. They just want the money. Much better options out there. read more

I have been here twice with my shaddy man. He is a very reactive puppy & a pitty at that so he scares people. The first time, he was not even a year yet and had a uti.. no other vet in the area knew what was wrong and I spent $300+ for them to tell me he only had worms. He indeed at worms but also a UTI, they assumed he was too young. The gentleman who owns the building helped us and he was amazing. Loved him. This second time was today.. his butt was swollen, and I called.. spoke with Jessica. She was great, second time I called and spoke with Sam.. she was so reassuring on the phone and in person. we came in and we're assisted by Jessica, Lily, & Abby & Sam who walked us back with our dog, well all of them did lol. Omg y'all, the service there is outstanding. Jessica was a little frightened at first but they allowed us to accompany our dog while they helped him. (We are not allowed to go back there) but they saw that he preferred us with him. Jessica even helped us out and referred us to a trainer. I don't think I will take my dog anywhere else. Please do not take your fu family member to this clinic. My dog was suffering after having a stroke and we were dismissed with an eye roll. Dr Duncan refused to take blood or run any tests on our dog. We rushed him to another clinic and they were amazing! They ran blood work and confirmed my suspicions that my dog had suffered a stroke and was not "fine," as we were told. After our dog died, Dr Herrington played cat and mouse with us, refused to speak to my adult daughter, and didn't keep her promise to call us back. I have filed a formal complaint but want to warn everyone that this clinic does not care about your pet or you. read more

We switched to Crabapple Knoll several years ago and while they are a bit of a drive since we are in Marietta, they are worth the drive. I originally got to know this practice through a rescue where I was a foster and the care they provided my severely injured fosters was no nothing short of amazing. They provide that same loving care to my pets. One of my dogs, Soda a King Charles Cavalier, had congestive heart failure. Unfortunately, he passed away the other day but he managed to live an additional three + years after his initial diagnosis from them. Our hearts are shattered but I take comfort in knowing that they provided the best care he could have gotten anywhere. I think we've seen just about every vet there and they have all been so incredibly thorough and kind. The front desk staff is also always amazing and professional. We will continue to use them and highly recommend them to anyone looking for exemplary vet care. Like I said, we drive out of our way because I can't imagine trusting another team more than Crabapple Knoll. read more

I sent an email to this practice at yourckvc1@gmail.com, however never received a response, so I am posting it here, so that this doesn't happen to anyone else; This email is intended for whoever is in charge of your vet clinic. Yesterday, 6/14/21, I had the most disturbing experience at your practice. I had been to your clinic one previous time, to bring one of my two dogs there. My second visit to your practice was to bring my dog in for her FIRST visit with your practice, which was yesterday, to be treated for a skin infection. My dog 4 year old dog has been going to the same vet practice since she was 12 weeks old, however we moved, which is why we were making the switch to you. I came in, and the vet tech asked me to weigh my dog, which I did. Then we were taken to a room, where I specifically told the vet tech that I did not mind waiting, as I knew that the vet we were scheduled to see, Ryan Gaston, was possibly going to be delayed. The tech asked me some questions about what brought me in, which I answered. I then asked if you did nail trimming, and the vet tech said you do, and that she could have it done while we wait for Dr. Gaston. Ruby was a little bit nervous, as again, it was her first time coming to your practice. The tech took Ruby back, and then about 10 minutes later returned Ruby to me in the room. The only thing the tech said was that the vet would be in shortly. A couple of minutes later, Dr. Gaston came in, rather hurriedly, and said "looks like she's been licking a lot, we have had about 12 of these cases come in. Here's what I gave her". I was immediately caught off guard, as I had not authorized any treatment for my dog. Only nail trimming. Dr. Gaston then proceeded to tell me how he had decided to just give my dog two injections, one a steroid, one a medication for itching (Kenalog and Cytopoint), in order to "kill two birds with one stone" while she was having her nails trimmed. He also came in with a shampoo that he was going to sell me, which I then proceeded to explain that I had antiseptic wash at home. (Dr. Gaston would have known that, had he actually come in and spoken to me before taking it upon himself to treat my dog without my knowledge and permission.) I was in a state of disbelief. Never has a vet, under any circumstances, done anything with my dog, to my dog, or injected medications into my dog, without discussing with me first. Dr. Gaston did not come in and examine her in front of me, introduce himself to me, ask me about what was going on with Ruby, or engage in any conversation with me whatsoever, and took it upon himself to treat my dog and inject not one, but two, medications into her without asking my permission, discussing what was going on with her, reviewing what I had already tried as far as treatment, etc... I asked him, when you go to the doctor, and the medical assistant takes your vital signs, do you consider your discussion with that person an actual MD visit, or do you wait to see the actual doctor first? I also asked him, if he had children, and anyone did anything to his child before speaking to him first, what would his response be. While Dr. Gaston apologized, and said he made a mistake, I am still very disturbed at this. I am still in a state of shock. I cannot believe your practice would allow any pet to essentially be treated like they are put onto a conveyer belt. How can your practice allow any medications to be injected into dogs without first meeting with, speaking with, and asking permission from the owner? I would like to know what you plan to do to make this right, as this is a major safety concern on behalf of any pet owner that brings their animals into your practice. Please tell me how you plan to correct this inexcusable mistake. I am still in a state of shock and disbelief that this even occurred. It's so sad to see a vet practice treat the dogs with such little care or consideration. Even more so the dog owners. There was one vet only in this whole practice that knew what she was doing. My dog is my whole world and now he is dying from acute liver failure. I understand its not the vet's fault, but how they treated our case, misplacing his lab work, not communicating with me or calling when supposed to and how little they showed to care breaks my heart in so many ways. If you need something simple such as a bath or nail trim, they can do it but that's about the only thing they seemed to be good at. I don't usually write bad reviews and I am only doing so because I don't want anyone to experience what I experienced. Now that my dog is dying, I wish I could have done things differently and gone to another vet sooner. But now, there is no time left. Finding Crabapple Knoll was such a blessing. Our 13 year old chihuahua fell really ill and we had to make the horrible decision to put him to sleep. Our regular vet was closed so I called them and they were angels!! They made a horrible and stressful situation as easy to bear as possible. Everyone from the office staff to the techs and the doctor were compassionate, caring and wonderful. They treated us like family and though it was so sad, we left feeling comforted and well cared for through this experience. We highly recommend their team!! Our 5 year old French bulldog who had a heart defect suddenly started vomiting and panting on a Saturday afternoon. Our own vet was closed but we called Crabapple Knoll and they said to bring him right in, even though they'd never seen him before. His breathing became more of a struggle on the way over. The vet tech literally ran to the truck, scooped him up and ran back inside to try to save him. The vet and staff performed CPR and other lifesaving efforts but our boy did not survive. As devastating as that was, we know he had the best care possible. Everyone there was dedicated to saving him and we were treated with kindness. We will use Crabapple Knoll for our other dogs from now on. Their priority is the animals and we can take comfort that everything possible was done to help our dog. read more

Now that I have a new baby with four legs and a tail, it was time to find a vet for her. My mom isn't a fan of the vet she takes their cats to, so I went on a quest to find somewhere I could be comfortable taking my baby. I had stumbled across Crabapple Knoll during my adoption search and it was relatively close to the house, so I figured I'd go check them out. Right as I walked in, they put out a crate of four kittens. One of them happened to be an all black female. I'd been toying with the idea of getting a companion for Chloe because when I move, I didn't want her to be by herself all day. Being the incredible bleeding heart that I am, I ended up bringing Maggie home. The ladies at the desk were super helpful both with the adoption process and setting up future appointments for both babies. Maggie hadn't been spayed yet, but that was included in the adoption fee. They'll both need their baby shots in the next few weeks, so I'll update with that experience. As of right now, though, I'm very pleased with the staff. I hope the vet is just as good. read more

I have been going to Crabapple now for 3 years and most experiences here have been great. However, I have come to the conclusion recently to not come here anymore. Recently my dog was here and I brought him in crying bc I knew it was his time to pass. While they gave me every option possible to help him, the implication here was that it was his time. I understand that, but one thing I did not like was the compassion that the vets there showed. This was one of the hardest times for me ever and I felt as if the vets were immune to the loss of a dog. My wife's parents had their cat pass recently and their vet sent them a card and flowers. That is the kind of vet I would like. I recently also have been coming here a good amount bc my other dog has had his arthritis kick in majorly. I got this RIDICULOUS schedule of what is needed for him. It has me going to the vet almost every other day which I cannot do as this vet is 15 miles from my house. I showed the schedule to my friend who is a vet at St Simons and he laughed at it. My breaking point was the other day when I went in for an injection for him. My appt was at 11am and the vet entered the room at 1127am! I waited 27 minutes for an injection that literally took 20 seconds! The injections are 30 dollars each and I spent about an hour and half of my day for 20 seconds injection. I shopped around and found a vet that is closer that said their injection is 19.95. I called them up just now to talk to them about a final appt for injection and guess what...on hold for 11 minutes so i hung up! I will be switching vets this week as I cannot take their lateness to appts and prices. They are very nice here, but that only matters if you can be on time. read more

Haven't experienced bad service yet, however they quoted me surgery for my dog's leg at about $1800 with meds as an additional cost. I went to a different vet and had the same exact services quoted at $600 total for all. Needless to say, they may be charging more than necessary. read more

Crabapple Knoll Veterinary Clinic is by far the best vet I have ever been to. Growing up in Milton, my family always brought our animals here. Now as an adult, living in Atlanta, I still make the drive to bring my own animals here. Their staff is always willing to answer any questions and genuinely care about your animals health and happiness. My dog recently had to get surgery for a luxating patella and both Dr. Ashley Gaston and Dr. Taylour Disch were great throughout the entire time, explaining all the details and processes. Additionally, my other dog had to get a mass removed on his leg and Dr. Ashley Gaston even cleaned his teeth a little while she was doing the surgery, just because she cares and saw some plaque buildup :) Through the good times and the bad times, I would recommend this vet to anyone in the area!! read more

I have a little kitten that a friend of mine rescued from the woods. He gave her to me because he knew I would give her a save and loving home. Since the beginning we/I have taken Artemis (my kitten) here, and since the beginning every single interaction has been nothing but positive. Even with an upper respiratory infection early on, they were nothing but kind, gentle, and eager to answer my MANY questions. This has been such an unbelievably amazing experience for me, that I am going to bring my adult cat, who is with another vet, to them. They are fair in pricing and have been very honest about what my cat needs and what they would recommend, without forcing anything on me. I cannot say enough great things about this clinic. When we needed to find a new vet for our Zoe, friends recommended Crabapple Knoll. I knew from our first visit that this was the clinic for us. I love that they have multiple vets and technicians on staff 7 days a week. Not only is it convenient for the parents, it enables the vets to collaborate when they encounter issues where they need a second opinion. While we saw several different vets (and we felt comfortable with all of them), we tended to gravitate to Dr. Disch. You can tell that she loves animals and loves what she does. She went above and beyond for us... she even sent us a video of Zoe during a hospital stay because she knew we were worried about her. The care and compassion everyone showed to our Zoe was amazing. Every staff member we encountered was kind and attentive - special shout out to Julie! They treated us like family. Given my experience with other vets in the Roswell area, I would not hesitate to trust Crabapple Knoll with my fur baby. read more

Just moved from California and we needed a place to board our 3 animals. It was our first time boarding pets let alone flying with them and we couldn't have chosen a better place. They worked out best for us because they stayed open until 5pm on Saturday since our flight came in at 2pm. They were so welcoming of our pets and made us feel like our pets would be well taken care of. We picked our pets up three days later and you could tell they enjoyed their stay. I was very surprised, my sister in law and I and her 5 kids showed up about 8:15 with a stray kitten that had wandered into their yard the night before. It had been spayed and appeared to be homeless, but had a really bad, really deep and infected wound on its paw, basically took the pad off down to almost the bone. My sister in law explained to them what the situation was, and they didn't have a lot of money to invest into thekitten if it didn't have a pretty good shot for recovery, they were quickly becoming attached to her and wanted to do what was best. The vet tech and the doctor came out and talked to us, took the kitten back and numbed up her food, cleaned and wrapped it, came back and let us know the best and worst possibilities, along with the cost offering a generous discount. Also let us know the poor oil one had fleas and there was a quick pill we could give her to help with that. They took extra time to explain everything to us, they were amazing with the kids, the small exam room was more then full , answered all of the questions and then blew us away with the bill. The director only charged her for the flea medicine which was $8.00... We couldn't believe that she had taken so much time with us and the kitten and done so much for her and not charged us... We appreciated that they understoodne circumstances and the situation with the poor little kitten and were beyond generous to help us all out. I have a regular vet I take our personal animals to, but I know if there is ever anything after when mine closes, not only are they open late, but they are good honest quality people. We have two incident's that make me not recommend this vet clinic. Number one, she spent a whole day there when our puppy was suddenly unable to walk, and their staff didn't look on her ear to find the tick sitting right there plain as day. So she was paralyzed and hospitalized for a whole weekend until they sent her home and my husband found a tick on her ear. And $$$. Second, I made her annual exam and vaccination appointment and had my husband take her in. I had specifically made the appointment because she was out of her heart worm medicine. They told my husband she could get that test done in July, so now she's home, no heart worm test, no medicine, and I have to make another appointment before they will give me her medicine. WHAT?? I had made the appointment to include that! And now we have to go back in?? read more

Be careful with this vet. They charge 3x more than other vets for same service. Like many others on here we had a bad experience with teeth cleaning. They charged over $1200 for two dogs AFTER a 25% discount. By comparison another more reputable vet in Alpharetta estimate was only $500 - for the same service! When we questioned about the charges and the fact that we didn't get an estimate, the very arrogant owner said "your choice not ours". We've been a customer for 16 years but won't be going back. Advice...get estimates and check them with other vets and know based on this review and other recent ones that the focus of this vet is profit, not the pets nor customer. One more note. This vet had us sign a small electronic signature pad and they then lifted that signature onto a document stating that we agreed to a vast number of items some of which had not even been discussed with us. Be careful what you are asked to sign. -- Followup note: The estimates we received for comparison were from Alpharetta Animal Hospital and Little River Animal Hospital as this vet knows since they were provided copies. So while in his response he made comparison to a "budget clinic or a low cost clinic like the Humane Society" these estimates were from well established, reputable animal hospitals, not "budget clinics". read more

I absolutely love this clinic! My dog was not feeling well a few weeks back, and even though they usually close at 9:00 p.m., they waited for us to get there (at about 9:10 p.m.). They took the time to examine my baby, they were all very nice, caring and patient. The following week, I took my dog again to the clinic for a full grooming session, I felt very comfortable leaving him there for the whole day. The clinic is clean and neat and they are all so sweet. I was highly impressed that the front desk staff took the time to walk me through the various Prescription Renal diet foods to aid my dog's kidney health concerns. Additionally, Dr. Disch recommended a supplement known for improving kidney function in dogs who are taking Lasix; this is something my prior vet of 10 years NEVER mentioned. Dr. Taylour Disch was extremely compassionate and instrumental in my dog's final life arrangements, ultimately making what could have been a stressful process as peaceful as possible. After many second chances, we're finally done. Every time we schedule an appointment here something is always done in poor taste. I've made appointments where they have taken walk ins over me that weren't emergencies, while I sit for an hour past my appointment waiting to be seen. Dr. Carson has laughed in my face when I asked about mosquito repellant for dogs. I've waited over 2 weeks for insurance paperwork that was followed with rude emails and filled out incorrectly each time. But the worst of all is that this place plays off the fact that you will do anything for your animals and they charge accordingly. I recently had a test done on my dog where the results came back positive and they refused me medicine until I came back for a physical exam. I'm sorry, but if you went to the doctor for strep throat and went home to wait for the results, would your doctor make you come back in for a physical? No chance. They knowingly charge you so much because the love that you have for your pet is too great to say no. We have found a new vet and will be switching today. You all should as well. read more

We have been clients of this place for at least 8 years. We knew the place is expensive than other vets but we stuck around because of their long hours. Worked well at the time because of our work schedules. For the price tag, I wasn't particularly impressed with the vets. The vets are always late for their appointments. And rarely do they apologize. They never read the history of the pet before seeing the pet. So one has to repeat everything, every time you go in. And they don't build a relationship with their client or pets. It's pretty much do my job, make money and run the place like a machine. There is no point leaving your pet overnight because no one is there at night. Quite interesting. I was told by one of the vets there, that my pet had cancer and would live for a week to four weeks. I called in to talk to the main vet, and he apparently was too busy to call back. My husband and I called twice each for two days. Knowing that our pet is dying, one would think that they would have some compassion and make the time. By the time, he returned the call it was a lost cause. He had lost us as his clients. I went to another vet for a second opinion. And he showed me the X-rays, and said that my pet could live for another three to six months. Three months later, my pet is still alive and doing well. The second vet did exact the same thing to diagnose my pet. How could a veterinamary place that claims to be so experienced, miss the mark so gravely on the diagnosis? read more
