Animals MMA is in a league all of its own. I have been a student of the school for a little over a year and can say without a shadow of a doubt that training at this school is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I've dropped over 20 pounds, and increased my strength as well as my endurance to new levels. The best part about this school is the environment. There are lots of places that preach family atmosphere. Here, it's not simply an "atmosphere" it's a way of life. From day one you belong. The dedication to one another that every single student (and instructor) has is unbelievable. There is ZERO ego here, everyone wants to help everyone else get better. In a conditioning class its cheering each other on to get that last set of an exercise finished (it's an everyday thing to see someone that's already finished jump back in and do it again just to help motivate their teammate.) When you're rolling, its breaking down the move you got caught in and then going through the way to get out of it. Bottom line - Shihan Sam Marji runs a top notch organization that prepares you for any goal you have. my daughter has been a member here for a little over 2 years and I couldn't be any happier with a martial arts school & extra curricular program for my daughter and my son who is a new member that turned of age to join his sister in martial arts classes. I sent my daughter to their camp which is full day last year which I was pleased I did as she requested to return this year and I will also sign my son up for as well. I even celebrated my daughter's 6th birthday party at MMA. I do not leave my children with anyone and for me to send my daughter to the events, camp and though the classes are not drop off, I know my children are always in great hands, the coaches are extremely accommodating, helpful, patient and fun, they structure the classes, teach the children, & show genuine care for the children. I recently started training at Animals MMA Yonkers, I'm a brown belt and have been practicing Brazilian jujitsu for over 10 years. This is by far the best place to study the art. Training here is like training with family and I've met some of the greatest people there. The kids class is also one of the greatest classes in NYC.It's a drama free school, not like some cult schools out there or (Mc Dojos)I like to call them. You get world class high level training and its also very clean. All the instructors here are great and are purple belts or better. We have it all from world champions to people who just want to get in shape. If you happen to be in the area or just looking for some quality training stop by and you'll notice the difference. As a student at Animals MMA i can atest to the excellent training and overall family atmosphere there. It is my home away from home. Animals MMA offers a vast array of fighting styles including, but not limited to, BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU, WRESTLING, BOXING and MUAY THAI. Iv been a student at Animals MMA for about three years now. In that time I have seen many people,including myself, change into not only a martial artist but also a better person when outside the gym. I wish I could give it a zero star... this place sucks at every level from coaching to customer service I would never recommend this place in my life... I cancelled my account SEVERAL times and they still try charging me(I haven't been there in over a year)... don't ever give these money hungry people your money they will try to suck you dry, WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD WITH ANY BUSINESS EVER... for any young parents that want to get their kid into the sport please for the love of god go ANYWHERE else, they do not care about you or your kid, just the pockets. read more

Amazing place, amazing people, so supportive, so honest, no egos. Exactly what I was looking for on the east coast, YET so hard to find. You really, really, really NEED to train here. So hard to find a good balance of skillful instructors who do not have a giant chip on their shoulders, so THANK GOD for Animals MMA; everyone is welcomed, everyone is treated the same, pushed to be the best to their ability, and even encouraged to take it further. The location is all right. The space is a bit tight, but the instructors generally know what they're doing. The reason I wouldn't recommend Animals MMA is because their year-long contract is absurd. They outsource their billings collections to Member Solutions. Member Solutions will relentless collect monthly dues regardless of financial circumstance and penalize you for late payments, credit card costs, etc. I wouldn't recommend signing with this gym as a result of hiring Member Solutions, basically a collections agency. read more

Just walking past this place and quickly looking in, you'd never guess how great of an environment this is for children. I just started working here during the after-school program hours and it's great to see how much they care about the kids that walk in here.
