They are very hands-on in their approach; each lesson they take lasts for 2 hours and I was behind the wheel from the very first one! Both instructors know what they're doing, and they're really good at their jobs. Since you're spending 2 long hours in the car with someone, I found it immensely helpful that both Miss Mona and Christian are also interesting people who I had good fun talking to! I was so grateful to them for training me well enough to pass my behind the wheel drivers test on the very first try - to prepare for it I also got to practice with the instructors around the DMV which helped me gain confidence for the real test. I cannot recommend this driving school enough - they were nothing short of sterling in the services delivered and they made learning a new skill fun and memorable for me! Thank you SO much Miss Mona and Christian, you all are the best!

Signing up was easy and all online, and the website actually explains things clearly. I worked with Donald and he was the best. I'm an anxious almost 40 year old who had never had a license, and he never made me feel weird about that. He was always on time, very calm, and just a genuinely kind person. I had a few lessons with him and it was 100% worth it. I have a lot of driving anxiety and test anxiety, and he gave feedback in a way that didn't make me feel worse. Driving started to feel doable, which I did not expect tbh! I hadn't taken a driving test in over 20 years, but I did it! I passed! I have a driver's license now!! I spent years renewing my permit and trying to build confidence but it wasn't happening. Especially because practicing with a spouse or family member is... difficult (iykyk). But this was completely different. My driving was better than I thought, and I actually got comfortable behind the wheel. I really can't thank Donald enough. This genuinely changed my life, which feels dramatic but is also true.

The first instructor, Laura, was calm and so patient and spent time with me as well before taking my daughter out driving. The second instructor, Dennis Sabino, was wonderful and arrived with a different vehicle for her to drive, which was great. She has her final lesson later this week. I can say, with confidence, that DriversEd.com takes their job seriously and is great with instruction and driving tips as well as putting nervous first time driver's minds at ease. Also, my daughter took their online course which prepares you for getting your driving permit. I would highly recommend Driver's Ed.com.

The $39 Price Comes With Strings Attached…read more I signed my daughter up for DriversEd.com because it came highly recommended, but my experience has been disappointing. The advertised $39 price is tied to enrollment in a "free" roadside assistance trial that automatically renews for $5/month unless you cancel. While that's disclosed, what wasn't obvious was how difficult it would be to actually cancel. The roadside assistance cannot be canceled from the parent account--it has to be done through the student's account. After logging into the student account, we discovered the roadside membership was still "processing," so there wasn't even a membership ID available to cancel the trial. In other words, we wanted to opt out immediately, but the system wouldn't let us. That combination of requiring enrollment in an auto-renewing subscription, limiting cancellation to a different account, and then preventing immediate cancellation because the membership isn't fully set up feels like an unnecessary obstacle. It left me feeling like I had signed up for something I didn't want and couldn't promptly cancel. The driver's education course itself may be perfectly fine, but the enrollment and subscription experience left a very poor first impression. I would much rather pay a few dollars more for a course that doesn't bundle an auto-renewing subscription with this kind of cancellation process. I hope DriversEd.com either makes the roadside assistance truly optional at checkout or allows customers to cancel it immediately from either the parent or student account.

My experience with Cities Driving School is the equivalent to that perfect hole-in-the-wall…read morerestaurant that you don't want to tell too many people about, because you are worried that business will become too good and they will be too busy. However, this review is for a driving school and not a restaurant! I can't hope to tell enough people! ***AS ALWAYS, LONG STORY SHORT, SKIP TO THE BOTTOMLINE*** Driving schools and driving instructors are not like a restaurant in that you hope that you don't ever need to go back to paying for their services. If you do, it's either because the instructor is no good, or because the student is struggling. Well, I just got back from two hours of training and I feel so great about what I learned today. I am never going to have to pay for a Class C training ever again! I called about a week ago to schedule a behind-the-wheel training and I rescheduled for this week. First of all, I am an experienced driver with a clean driving record, with no major accidents. Coming from L.A., I know what an angry/aggressive driver looks like, and how to drive defensively (will return to this in a moment). Why am I doing behind-the-wheel training? To learn how to operate a standard (manual/stick) transmission. We scheduled to meet at JLSquare, but I was running late, so Steven picked me up in front of a corner coffee shop along the way. He knew exactly where he was going and as soon as we got to a spot off Broadway where there was zero traffic, he pulled over, checked my current driver's license and we got out and switched seats. He had a sheet of handwritten notes already prepared and went through the basics of how to drive stick. I know, it's late for me to learn, but better late than never! Just a few minutes and we were off! Starting off, I didn't stall too many times, but as I got the hang of it, I started stalling more and more, until we got stalled at an intersection! !__! Bad news! But, Steven was very calm, very patient and knew how to relieve the anxiety and pressure of learning something new while actively doing it. Still, I was having a hard time, and ended up stalling again at a stop sign. I have a habit of checking my rear view too often and noticed when the guy behind us was following too close. He starts honking as I'm turning the engine over and pulls around us (in a one-lane road) and stops after the intersection, waits for us to get behind him, and gets out! He starts to yell about how I like playing games and comes up to my window. Neither of us really know what's going on and just stare at him as he's going off on us. The guy comes up to my window and punches the glass a couple times and storms off. Before he gets in, I yell, "Hey man, I'm just learning!" He speeds off. I got his plate number, but what good does that do? No harm, no foul. (But really this was an indisputable moment of legitimate assault). Needless to say, I was in disbelief that someone in the Bay would have an attitude like that and said, "What if I had a gun? Man, he's brave" Steven replied, "You know, if he hits you just a little bit, I would rather sue and make him pay big." We started making jokes and laughing about it and after this, somehow the tension is released and what he's been telling me the whole time just clicks. I can feel what brings the engine to stall, and I get what he means by "Hold! Be patient, man!" BOOM, and just like that (in the aftershock of the crazy guy) my brain understands and my body reacts and there's no more problem! No trouble at all! We even took it to the busier parts of downtown Oakland and the clustered mess by the lake. Steven does a really good job of relaxing you and convincing you not to worry about the other drivers around you, and just focus on your driving. We left it at a very good note and I feel confident to take to the streets on my own. ***BOTTOMLINE: If you need Class C behind-the-wheel driver's training, Cities is the place to call. No hassle, no bullshit. Just an experienced, relaxed and friendly instruction at a very affordable price -- cheaper than any other ones that I've found online. The catch? You won't ever need to go back as a return customer.***

She step on the accelerating pedals rather than letting them feel how are they supposed to drive.
