The service was great! Food is definitely worth the wait. I highly suggest any of their entrees with chicken!

Yum! I went for the lamb and chicken combo platter, which came with pita, fries, and a side salad…read more The skewers were the highlight: the lamb had that classic, slightly charred exterior with a juicy center, while the chicken was tender and well-seasoned. We also ordered grilled halloumi, which brought that satisfying squeak and a lightly crisped edge. A nice surprise: they sent out profiteroles on the house for us to try. It's a small gesture, but it rounded out the meal on a sweet, generous note. This Gastown souvlaki shop runs tight on space, so expect a possible wait, especially if you go at a peak time. The open kitchen gave the restaurant a lively, grill-forward energy, but it also means things can get a bit smoky while the skewers are firing.

There's an authenticity to the dinning experience and the food is elevated compared to the standard fair all around town. It's a small restaurant in Gastown. There are only a handful of tables. It feels intimate yet has a social vibe. It's really charming. We grabbed a nice little table for two. There was a menu, a water pitcher and glasses already on the table. It's not a huge menu, but the things you expect are there. Everything on the menu looked so go we wanted to try everything. Fortunately there is an "everything" platter for two people where you get to sample everything. The platter comes with pork gyro, chicken kabab, lamb kabab, greek salad, green salad and French fries. Not being a fan of lamb, we asked if we could substitute the lamb kabab for a second chicken kabab. They were accommodating and said they would happily do that, but the owner, encouraged us to tray the lamb. I could tell how passionate and proud of his food he is, and that convinced me to try it. It was absolutely the best thing on the platter. The serve was great. The food came out fast in a beautiful wooden bowl that presented the food wonderfully. Kababs can be a tough thing to get right. Often they're over cooked and dry. Which is the kiss of death for chicken and particularly lamb. These were served hot and juicy and cooked to perfection. The fries were seasoned well and crispy. The salads fresh.

The experience was similar each time. The space is nice, but it was very quiet during all my lunch visits, presumably because of all the construction work on Broadway. I would assume that was why the did this promotion, to bring in cusotmers. During my visits, I tried the following: - Dip Tasters - Good. Simple, but all the dips were good - Moussaka - Good. Classic recipe. At $12,60, very good price, but not sure I would pay a full$21. - Lamb Youvetsi - Good. Good flavours. At $16.80, a good value. - Souvlaki Platter - Very good. Best value at $17.40, it was a full plate of food which I couldn't finish in one sitting. Had to take a portion home for feed myself for dinner. I will mention that during my first visit, sides weren't provided for the Lamb our Moussaka. But subsequent visits, they were, so there was some inconsistency here. But it's hard to say whether I was unlucky the first visit, or just lucky on the last two visits. Service was pretty good each time. No conerns. Considering the 40% discount offer, it was a very good deal. Good food, good service for really good prices. That's why I went three times!

The building is hidden by construction scaffolding but it's conveniently located close to Broadway-City Hall Station. It was a last-minute decision to come here, so I called about an hour before we planned on arriving to reserve a table. They were pretty busy (Saturday 7 pm) so I'm glad I called. The three of us each ordered our own dishes but shared a little bit of everything so I got to try the Beyond souvlaki platter (my dish), the grilled humboldt squid, and the lentil salad, all of which were amazing. I was really excited about the Beyond souvlaki because I love the souvlaki flavours but don't eat the usual souvlaki meats, so this was the first instance where I was able to try this sort of thing at a restaurant. The souvlaki skewer was bursting with flavour and all of the sides were delicious, the potatoes practically melted in my mouth. The lentil salad also exceeded my expectations - there was a substantial serving of lentils and lots of dill to give it a fresh herby flavour. The squid fro what I could tell (I don't eat squid very often at all) was also well-prepared, very tender and, like everything else, flavourful. Prices are not cheap but their portions are very generous. I appreciated the big vegetarian/vegan section of the menu! They even have vegan feta available as a feta substitute for the salads, so all of the vegetarian dishes except the spanakopita are or can be veganized. Our server was nice and the service was very timely. The atmosphere was calm. This was a great choice for us! I'd love to go back and really bring my appetite so I can try some dessert too!

Our waiter was incredibly attentive, and the service was quick. We kicked things off with some drinks. We should have arrived 30 minutes earlier to enjoy their happy hour. Their drinks are both strong and delicious. It's a fantastic opportunity to try something new, especially since you don't get to experience Greek spirits every day. The food was just as tasty. We started with the calamari and the house spreads - we had the hummus, tzatziki, and roasted eggplant dip. It was so good that we had to order more pita bread. For our mains, we shared three different dishes: short ribs, lamb meatballs, and lamb roasted shoulder. The flavors were rich and well-seasoned. That, combined with their drinks, was a perfect match. Don't come here after eating a snack beforehand; make sure you're hungry because you'll be finishing your plate and the person you're with. I would definitely return here without hesitation to try the rest of the menu.

Great find!! Its still possible to discover "New" Greek…read morerestaurant in this traditional Greek neighbourhood ... and so glad we did! First off people here a genuinely friendly, big smiles from the lady Boss and warm welcome from other staffs once we stepped inside, menu is simple and yet full of choices! Since we love grilled meats, we decided to go for the Platter for 2, oh wow, when it came out, I thought I was Fred Flintstone! Anyways, I have not had pork in Greek cooking that often, and was eager to try their Pork Souvlaki, one bite and I am hooked ( not many Greek places offers pork on their menus ), other items on the platter : Chicken Souvlaki, grilled Lamb Shoulder, Beef Patties, Pork Sausages, all came fresh off the grill with delicious char flavours! Oh and their fresh cut fries are also outstanding! For $65.00 this is a great value for such a generous portion of quality meats! As for sweets, please please try their Portokalopita ( Greek Orange Cake ) its a super super moist orange cake that goes well with a cup of coffee! Our Server Jack makes you feel relaxed and also very helpful with giving you recommendations plus a sense of humour! Street paid parking available, and if you venture into the side streets you may find free parking on your lucky day!

What a lovely, authentic Greek restaurant!…read more I first heard of this place from one of my online Vancouver restaurant newsletters that I subscribe to (the article listed 12 local restaurants that locals want to keep private, to keep them all from getting too popular and crowded). It sounded great, and their website looked good, and the reviews here were excellent. So today we tried it out, visiting at an odd-ish time (4pm). The decor is fantastic. Stone walls, murals, a cozy fireplace at the front, a gorgeous bar, a cute patio, a large and open interior. The menu is not overwhelmingly large but large enough to have lots of options, mostly for traditional Greek fare (think: souvlakis, Greek salads, dips and pitas, various grilled seafoods, lamb dishes, etc). (Note: I did not see my favorite moussaka on the menu, surprisingly). We ordered and shared a trio of dips with warm pita, a chicken souvlaki and a plate of fries. Everything was fresh and delicious. The taramasalata dip was, for me, the hit of the show. Wow, was it good! (It tasted like the most delicious smoked salmon dip imaginable, with a bit of pink caviar on top). The breads were wonderful (pita and bruschetta slices). Even the fries were fresh and hot and perfectly cooked. (They also offer the typical lemony Greek potato wedges, if that's your preference). Our server was super nice and attentive. What was really awesome here was how they accommodate people with celiac issues. They always do their fried potatoes in a separate fryer so they are always gluten-free, and the server was very knowledgable about the ingredients in every dish. She even brought out a plate of cucumber spears so my celiac friend could enjoy the dips, too. Super thoughtful! I thought the prices here were quite reasonable. My only suggestion for this restaurant is: it'd be fantastic if they had some sort of happy hour specials. When we arrived today, there was only one other dining party out on the patio. The entire restaurant interior was empty, save for my dining party. I know 4pm is an odd time, but perhaps if they had a HH menu, they could get more people in the place at this hour. It was a little disconcerting, being the only occupied table in this large, open restaurant. Just a thought! That said, I'm already planning when to return with my daughter here for dinner as I know she will love this place!
