Had the chicken donair and there was more fat than chicken and tasted very bland. Won't be coming back here again!!!

Tasty donair place close to Capilano Mall. Parking is available on the street as well as the strip mall lot. The interior is a bit grungy. Reminds me of those late nite places along the Granville strip downtown. The place has donairs, koobideh, joojeh, and platters (meat and falafel). Portion sizes are pretty filling. Quite tasty. The lamb meat was a bit saltier than I would've liked, but mixing it with rice solved the problem. The platter also comes with hummus and Greek salad. Will be back at some point. read more

Visiting Vancouver and decided to stop by here. The Koobideh and Chicken with bread was "YUMMY". The fresh basil was a nice touch and the side onion was also fresh. The only fault I would see is to increase the amount of basil as it is not intended for a garnish but rather an ingredient of the meal, just like the onion which there was plenty of. The restaurant itself was clean and the staff were courteous. This is not a full service - sit down restaurant (although there are a couple of tables with some bar stools one can dine in, but it is more like a quick grab-and-go. The menu itself had great variety which I liked.... For the calibre of business they're in and its aimed purpose....I'd have to say...Well done! read more

Always love this place!! There seems to a churn of employees, but that is a sign of potential management issues or transitional people as the employees. The employees are all very nice Persians, and as such, it cannot get any more authentic. Other than that, i have no complaints and I try to get here as often as possible. As a suggestion, I usually eat the Beef or Falafel Donair or the beef platter. I like to add feta, black olives, and pickles... and all the sauces!! read more

I give this place 1 star for service. Tonight I walked into the establishment to order and there was no one at the counter. The staff all saw me but not one of them acknowledged me. Then the phone rang and the female employee took the call right in front of me and put her pointer finger up. I nodded with a smile. After the phone call she put the phone order on the service line and walked away. I just couldn't believe she did that. I left, obviously. It was very awkward and uncomfortable for me. Even the one table of customers expressed their disappointment in seeing how they dealt with me as I was leaving. I'm truly disappointed that it's become so normal for food places to be so negligent. More like yucky. Absolute garbage. The chicken they serve is cut in tiny little pieces and it's full of fat. It taste like shit. They dont even have onion sauce only garlic sauce. They also dont have potatoes only French fries. I would not recommend this dreadfull place. They should check out Amir's menu and find out how to make real libanese food. I am writing this review soley based on an experience I had when I ordered a mix donair with a combo. The price on the board says $8.99 plus add $3.00 for a combo. When it came time to pay the total was 13.64. Thinking Ok taxes etc I then looked at the paper bill and realized the sub total said $12.99 when it should say 11.99. I promptly asked the cashier who talked to someone in the back and said prices changed a month ago. Unfortunately they have not changed it in the display which is a TV display. The owners can increase their price all they want but have to change it on the advertising board. Have taken some pics and will post here. read more

I never knew I could find a parking spot which is part of the buildings secret. Yummy has parking spaces! Oh my! I love this place. Yes. I come here when I can and I can truthfully say, I can eat anything on their menu. Everything is so good and "yummy". First there are donairs and then there are yummy donairs. Hey, most donairs are pretty good, but not like Yummy's on a good day. Always busy whenever I'm there. Sometimes there are familiar faces.....which means this is a good place to go. The tabouleh is not bad, I've had better but at this time I don't know of any other place to go to yet. For now, I will keep coming back here when I need my kick for lamb and donairs. After reading these reviews, I find it amazing how each of us on Yelp have different opinions about what we like and don't like. For me, I love Iranian food like from places like Anar in Richmond. This isn't quite up to that, but in a pinch when I want something with a similar spice and I want lamb. This will be my choice. read more

* Persian fast food * North Vancouver is home to a lot of Persian places. This one is a bit off the normal cluster near Lonsdale, and instead down off Marine Drive. It also is more of a fast food style (order at the counter subway style) type place instead of a sitdown restaurant. Persian fast food, if you like. I ordered the large koobideh on sangak for a very reasonable $6.99. It is also available in a smaller version (one skewer and one tomato instead of two of each) for an extremely reasonable $4.99. After ordering they fired up the skewers and tomatoes on the grill and prepared them fresh. Nice. I used to eat here about once a week. I live 2 blocks away so, it is convenient. They also bake a good quality Iranian flat bread (Noon Sangak) which usually finishes by early afternoon. However, this place has fallen out of favour with me of late. The wraps are not as appealing as they use to be and they have become smaller, while the prices have increased. I could have simply let this go and ignore this fast food restaurant completely; except that, the other day, as I was strolling by, I could not help but notice how dirty the surrounding grounds are. It feels as though this the dirtiest patch of property in North Vancouver, bar none. Dead Cigarette butts are EVERYWHERE. The mount of garbage in among the bushes is unbelievable. I walk past this place a couple of times a week and know, that it is the staff that is responsible for the cigarette butts; I see him smoking all the time. So, I ask you to consider, if the staff is responsible for some of the garbage around the restaurant, what does this say for the condition of the kitchen? If any member of the staff read this I ask you to PLEASE hire someone to clean up your property, it is disgusting. read more

Went by for a quick meal on my way out of north van. I really enjoy the koobideh combo that comes with bread. The meat is always juicy and the bread is authentic. The donors are good but I can't ever order anything but the double koobideh combo. Wanted to grab lunch while car being serviced. We usually love donair. This was the blandest donair we have eaten. Expensive too and small serving. Our standard so far is Donair dude - who apply red paste or hummus, a ton of tasty toppings and very generous meat. Our Yummy donairs mostly had iceberg lettuce, tomato and cucumber. This is your average donair in a typical store with friendly service. Ingredients are what you expect, nothing more. Thebone plus I'd say about this place is that the pitas are warmed somehow - with a well seasoned griddle or something, and oil I think - I'm not sure because I didn't watch. But the pita had a crazy amount of roasty aroma which made the donair just a bit unique and special. Call it middle-eastern umami. read more

I've been here a few times and will not bother commenting on the shawarma. It's fine, but I'm not a shawarma guy anymore and these guys are Persian so I feel I should rate them on their specialties, not a food product that people just associate with anything from the middle east. The joojeh kabab (chicken skewer) served on sangak bread with basil, tomato and onion, was so simple yet so delicious. HIghly recommend it and you don't need sauces or other condiments to go with it. Everything served is moist and juicy as is, so don't bother messing with a great thing. Also, they have their own sangak bakery in the back and sell them for $2 all-in! If you're not persian, grab one of these big breads, drop a toonie, go home and cut them up into squares (with the plastic wrap still on). Then stack em and put em into ziploc bags to freeze. Sangak is best when you have it fresh and hot and stales out pretty quick because there are no preservatives. When you freeze, you can easily separate them due to the plastic wrap you left between and toast them up for later use. read more

Solid 3.5 stars. Being in North Vancouver with its high-density of Persians, no one can doubt authenticity here. Amazing value as most items are $5-7, and you'll be satisfied. It's got lots of seating area, corner location but the parking truly sucks as you can only park on the side street, uphill I may add. read more

Didnt have a great experience with this place. Ordered the chicken donair and hardly got an chicken. It was also very fatty, was closer to beef jerky if u ask me. The donair was close to 80% lettuce. And very poorly wrapped. It actually already had holes in it when I opened it up. Told my friends about this and they said it's because they don't know me and they take better care of you when your a regular. which i find ridiculous. One of the Best Donairs on the North Shore and in Vancouver. Kind of pricey, but the donairs are huge always made fresh packed with lots of meat. Yummy also has kebab's served with this cool flat bread called sangak made in house. Kebab will take aleast 15mins cook. read more

I went there for the first time last week and I'm afraid it might have also been the last time. The food was very tasty, no complaints there, but I was unhappy with the service. I avoid carbs, so I asked for my donair on a plate instead of a pita, but they told me they don't do that. I repeated, thinking maybe I hadn't been clear: all the meat and toppings I asked for in a donair, except the pita bread. They insisted it's not their "policy" (what?!) to do that. In the end, the guy there begrudgingly agreed to do it just this time because we had already paid and there were people waiting for us. We were literally giving them the same money for less work (no wrapping the pita, no heating the donair) and we were even ok with being charged a bit extra for the cheap styrofoam container they used! They lost two customers who love donairs and who would have been happy to become regulars, out of sheer stubbornness and bad business sense. There are plenty of other donair places around that I'm sure would be happy to take our money and make a small accommodation that actually costs them less labour. read more

Don't waste your money...or your calories! This was tasteless. They ran out of chicken so we had beef which wasn't actually beef. It looked terrible and the spices in the meat tasted a lot like medicine. We also had donair meat plate and it was edible but definitely not enjoyable. We threw most of it in the garbage. I love this place! I get the beef donair with everything in a bowl instead of a wrap, so I can trick myself into thinking I'm eating a salad. I usually tip them very well and sometimes they'll give me extra meat. Definitely a good place to go for a fast, cheap meal. Very filling! read more
