Dr Xu has been my allergy and asthma doctor for many years. I developed severe allergies and asthma in adulthood. Year after year, I suffered so much from allergies and never expected to find the relief I'm now experiencing. Dr Xu is my favorite doctor (I have several) and has helped me get my symptoms under control. Her care has been positively life changing. I have complete confidence in her expertise. She is a highly skilled and sought after expert in the Bay Area. Her practice has a few locations in the South Bay which makes scheduling very convenient. Her staff is well trained, friendly and helpful. Dr Xu is thorough, takes time with each of her patients, she's kind, compassionate and very professional. She has excellent communication skills and explains things in an understandable manner. I never feel rushed and always feel like she truly cares about me and my overall health. I'm so disappointed in Dr Xu and all her practices. First of all, she added herself onto my care team without prior consent or as much as to even ask me or speak to me. I just received an email saying that she's been added to my care team even though she's not in network. Secondly, to charge my insurance $3,000 for allergy testing is completely insane, I understand prices have gone up but to blatantly price gouge , shame on you. These people only care about one thing and that's money! Dr Xu was not personable, was snappy when I called about lab work she ordered for tests that don't even exist (how are you an allergist and you don't know that these tests you've ordered don't even exist, like there is no lab that provides these tests at all). And on top of that provided my primary care doctor a rude note of my visit with her. I did not consent to this either it just happened. read more

My daughter is a new student at Santa Clara University and needed to continue her maintenance allergy shots. She brought her viral (only for 1 maintenance shot) and doctor notes from her Allergist in LA to see Dr. Xu on 9/14/2023. She went to the office for her shot on 10/16/23 and returned the record to her Allergist in LA. It turned out that she received the wrong dose! The dose was cut in half by the shot manager, Jennifer, at Dr. Xu's office without informing me or my daughter in advance. She was not sick at the time of getting the injection. On 11/9/23, her allergist in LA told Jennifer to discard the other half of the viral since it really doesn't help and give a credit of $102 to my daughter. She would need 2 extra injections to build up immunity for a missing full-dose maintenance shot. Jennifer called my daughter and told her that she could come in and have the other 1/2 of the dose for free. When I called, Jennifer said "1/2 shot is not good" is only your doctor's opinion. They have a lot of patients and she cuts doses for their patients all the time! She even said the note was not clear to her, tho made no effort to get clarification from either the doctor she works under or the prescribing doctor here in LA!! All I can say is Jennifer is so unprofessional and unethical. While this was a setback for my daughter, I cannot imagine what other patients have suffered due to her negligence. I requested a call back from Dr. Xu to discuss the matter, but haven't heard from her! My daughter will not be there again!! read more

I had a Prurigo, which is a rare skin disease. I basically could not stop scratching myself on the arms and legs due to itchiness and causing me to be covered by scars all over my body. I have been to various doctors including dermatologist, primary care physicians. Nothing helped. I reached out the Ms Anlin Xu, as she is my allergy physician as the last hope, hoping this can be magically solved by a allergy specialist. I was surprised with just 2 weeks of treatment, my skin cleared up. It has been almost a month, I stopped using the medication and no longer take allergy pills. My skin remains clear. Dr. Anlin Xu is a great allergy physician. For months I was constantly suffering from bad skin allergies that made me miserable. No allergy doctor I visited prior to finding her was able to determine the cause of the problem. Dr. XU checked me very thoroughly, was very patient, and after several tests was able to diagnose the problem as a multi-medication sensitivity. Very experience and detail oriented allergy specialist! I had allergy treatment with different doctors before, got so many different prescription sprays, pills, cream, but only Dr. Xu explains to me all the difference between all those allergy medicine so clearly, now I can go for the right medicine to achieve best treatment result. My 3-yr-old daughter is allergic to nuts and certain antibiotics. We've seen Dr. Xu several times. Dr. Xu and her staffs are very good at working with kids. My daughter felt easy during the visits and even asked me to bring her back! Not an easy task to make a 3-yr-old love doctor's office... Dr Xu was very thorough and patient to answer all my questions and I never felt being rushed. Dr. Xu has excellent communication skills. She always explains complex concepts clearly in easy-to-understand layman's term so that I feel I can participate in meaningful conversation with her about my daughter's medical condition, in contrast to my experience in some other doctor's office where I was only on the receiving end of information without much understanding. Dr. Xu did a great job in diagnosing my allergies, as well as recommending the best approach for me to take. She is not imposing and gives you the option to choose which approach you prefer (as opposed to trying to drive you one way). She is also a very friendly doctor who is comfortable to speak with. I saw Dr. Xu at SB Allergy in Mt. View. Not only did she fit me in to an already booked schedule as a new patient (due to an urgent need), she then went on to spend nearly an hour explaining all the possible causes, outcomes, and statistics that I needed to understand my condition and how we would treat it. I walked in after seeing three other doctors, feeling hopeless, but I left feeling totally understood with my issue accurately diagnosed and taken care of. There is a 24-hour on call line in case you need something over the weekend or at odd hours. Professional, clearly knows her stuff, patient, available to help around the clock.. My 2 year old son has severe peanut/tree nut allergy. Upon first minor accidental exposure to peanut butter, he went into anaphylactic shock. Our pediatrician referred us to Dr. Xu due to her experience with pediatric allergies. Dr. Xu was very thorough and directive in helping us understand our son's situation. She prescribed a very clear action plan for different allergic reactions. I like Dr. Xu also because she is very well versed in the statistics, research, and case studies relating to allergies and asthma. I feel confident about her recommendations, and I like her directness which leaves nothing ambiguous. When our son later developed wheezing, she also helped us with developing an action plan. When it came time for my son to go to school, Dr. Xu wrote a letter to the school and provided advice, which eventually helped us convince the school to make our son's classroom into a peanut/nut free environment. During that process, Dr. Xu had also indicated that she would be willing to make a presentation to the school to help educate the school if needed. We really appreciated her commitment to her profession and her patients. Since we have been under Dr. Xu care, we have called her office on multiple occasions with questions, and every time, Dr. Xu has personally called back and answered all of our questions thoroughly. I know Dr. Xu has young children herself, and she is very empathetic to young children and their parents- which makes her a great pediatric allergist. I would highly recommend Dr. Xu for pediatric allergy and asthma as I am really not aware of other pediatric specialists in this area as competent as Dr. Xu. read more
