This place is located on Huron St on the North side of the main campus. It has its own parking with one entrance/exit. There are 6 spots (see photo). This is a huge benefit because parking is very very limited around the Michigan campus. We stayed in the Laguna Beach room (see photo) which had minifrige, microwave, Keurig, and a hot plate in the cabinet. The room was comfortable and quiet. There is a small balcony to the right of the bed in the photo. But there is no view from that balcony. The owner was very nice and accommodating. There are snacks in the main kitchen. We did not eat the breakfast because we had to be on campus before 8am. Check out is 11am but we left our car parked until 3:30 when we left to go to the airport. Very good and convenient option when visiting Michigan. read more

This B&B is walking distance to the Main Street and all the streets leading into the university area. It is a really good stop to explore the area by foot. The B&B has its own parking spots for their guests. If you check my photos attached, they have such beautiful and spacious room with lots of natural light coming in from the skylight windows. The room was clean and the bed was super comfy. My husband did not want to leave when it was time ..haha. Their breakfast was delicious, a mix of warm and cold offerings. Most importantly, there was lots of good coffee and creamer. The outside porch dining area was full of colorful blooming flowers. I absolutely love this place. The owner also graciously offered complimentary pop, water and Keurig coffee including a bowl of candies throughout the day. I love that the owner showed pride in their place and everything that they did showed care for their guests to make sure that they had a pleasant and uncomplicated time during their stay! read more

This B&B was described as "quirky" and "eclectic" and didn't disappoint! Pat was wonderful, ensuring we had everything we needed, free snacks and drinks are abundant. Our room was very comfortable, with a Keurig and access to a refrigerator and microwave. Breakfast consisted of a delicious quiche and eggs made to order, as well as cereals, pastries and artisan breads. This isn't the most modern facility, but would most definitely rather stay here than a generic chain hotel. Would stay again most definitely! read more

This place will forever stay in my heart. I can proudly talk about it all day long and will treasure every minute of our stay. The experience we have had was overwhelming! My boyfriend made the reservation 10 days prior to the planned stay and we were upgraded to their best room,Jamboree for the first day after a quick deal with Pat,the lovely and kind hostess/owner. This big house has several rooms with different themes but overall,the interior is very bohemian,rustic and fully accentuated. Every guests share the living room,dining area and the main house front deck overlooking the University of Michigan main campus. Again,this is not your typical and ordinary hotel experience. This is more like a host-guest personal connection and that's why I loved it. The Jamboree room with the outside hot tub. This was the best part. It's covered by a tarp but the shrubs and mini trees were good enough to seclude the area for privacy. It has more spacious bathroom,tub and a kitchenette that completed the look. What else can we ask for a generous supply of towels and toiletries! Noted the TJ organic products. Simple things and yet,I don't get this a lot anywhere else. I appreciated it so much. I wrote a thank you note in the guest book. :) The complimentary breakfast that served some local bread products and the famous Zingerman's deli! Always awesome! We had spent 2 breakfast mornings here(always after an early morning run) and I have requested hard boiled eggs. Pat made sure it was done. Keurig,regular coffee and tea were unlimited. I'm not a huge bed and breakfast fan in general. When I'm traveling for work, I typically keep to myself during my hotel or B&B visit, getting work done or just getting some rest. So, I feel like I don't really allow myself to enjoy the full B&B experience, if you know what I mean. Regardless, Ann Arbor B&B provides a comfy and spacious place for rest your head if you find yourself in the area. The Good: -The Maine room I stayed in was super spacious - a loft on the second floor with a kitchenette and balcony -Plenty of free snacks and drinks in addition to your included breakfast -Location is great, super easy to walk to anywhere downtown Ann Arbor -Check in and check out was super easy and quick -Plenty of gratis toiletries if you forgot anything at home The Meh: -The decor is very much old-school Michigan, as in lots of knobby wood chairs, desks, bears on comforters, etc. Nothing wrong with this, it's just not my style and a bit dated -I was feeling quite under the weather when I stayed here and needed to stay in, rest, and order in dinner. When I asked for a list of restaurants that delivered, the owners didn't have one, rather had a general list of recommended restaurants. A delivery list would be super helpful. Hopefully next time I'm feeling better and can enjoy the surroundings a bit more! read more

This place is more bed than breakfast. I was offered some toast, fruit, coffee, and scrambled eggs. Nothing spectacular. A nice undergrad made breakfast, so maybe I came on a bad day when the owners weren't around. Nonetheless, that's what I got. The rooms were clean, although mine felt a bit cluttered with various decorations (hockey stick, knotted wood chairs, etc.). It's probably nice if you like collecting odds and ends. The common area has DVD's, books. It's spacious but a little dusty. The kitchen area has snacks like cake and coffee. There's a nook filled with toothbrushes and such in case you forgot something. The best thing about the B&B is the location. It's close to the stores on State Street and the campus proper. Overall, it was a nice experience. I'd look around a bit before staying here again, but wouldn't be opposed to a repeat visit. read more

This was the best stay I've ever had. I've never stayed in a bed and breakfast but I would certainly stay here again. The room was so cute and perfectly themed. The shower was big enough for like 5 people comfortably. The hot tub was roomy enough for 4 people. The only problem we had was the hot tub kept short circuiting and turning off so we had to continue to flip the breaker switch but other then that the stay was awesome. Breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of snacks and drinks for guests. I love this place! read more

I could never say enough wonderful things about the Ann Arbor Bed & Breakfast, specifically their Farmhouse out on Miller Ave. in Ann Arbor. My husband and I stayed here this summer the week before our Ann Arbor wedding. The Innkeeper was wonderful - Marcia cooked us wonderful breakfasts, and kept the Farmhouse in perfect shape. My husband and I enjoyed evenings on the wrap-around porch, and peaceful sleep in the quiet house. There were always snacks and drinks available in the common room, also books, TV, DVDs. We loved it! Close enough to downtown that you could walk back and forth if you wanted the exercise - lots of parking at the Inn too. And I could never forget about wonderful, darling Clara! The Innkeeper has a dog! Clara is an adorable, young black lab. I could've played with her all day. The Ann Arbor B&B Farmhouse is a special place. It's worth the money for the peace and harmony it will bring you during your stay in A2. read more

We have been here a couple of times now and we really like it here. We stayed in the Jamboree room (which has a separate entrance from the main house) and loved it! The shower is pretty amazing :) and they have nice comfy sheets too! Clean room... also provided a blowdryer in the bathroom. The breakfast was awesome!! I was able to make my own toast and everything (which is nice because I don't like it too toasty). However, the lady of the house made my boyfriend and I amazing veggie omelets! I had the broccoli and mushroom omelet and it was perfect. I am also a huge Star Wars fan - and they had little figurines of R2 and C3PO around the main house... it was a nice little touch :) read more

My daughter and I stayed here for three nights while my husband was at The University of Michigan Hospital having a triple bypass. We were so nervous and afraid so having Pats lovely home to come back to each night was priceless. And it was within walking distance, only three blocks. They even provide covered parking. We had the Ocean View room with the hot tub and our own private patio. No, there's no ocean view but the bed was amazingly comfortable and the accommodations were perfect for us. That shower was huge. We could fit our whole family in there! Everyone working there was so sweet, considerate and really made us feel at home. The atmosphere is so comforting and very interesting with all the antique knick-knacks to distract us. Breakfast was lovely and she even accommodated my difficult to feed Gluten diet. We Reeeeeeally appreciated having your place so nearby to stay. If you're looking for someplace to stay, stay here, it's like a home away from home. Thank you So Much. This place is absolutely amazing. My boyfriend and I were looking for somewhere to stay on New Year's Eve, and had procrastinated about finding a reservation. This ended up being to our great advantage, since we found out after arriving to the B&B that the only reason we were able to book our room was because there had been a last-minute cancellation, and we'd snatched that room up about 30 minutes after the other couple canceled. We booked the Maine Woods room, which is an attic room that was absolutely SPECTACULAR. It was a gorgeous room, beautifully decorated in a Michigan-rustic style, with a great kitchenette and balcony. We really lucked out. In addition to the room being extraordinary, the common space was also a lot of fun and was filled with interesting things to check out. They also have a huge and diverse selection of great movies to watch, and a big TV in the bedrooms if you want to take a movie break. The breakfast they served in the morning was extremely pleasant, and Pat and Bob were very hospitable. This description really isn't doing this place justice. The only bad thing about the whole experience was that we could only stay one night. Suffice it to say, I can't wait to go back, hopefully for several nights. read more

Terrible place, rude owner, incredibly high rates -- Do NOT stay at this place. Our experience here was the complete OPPOSITE of hospitality. If you want an owner who yells at you over the phone when you offer a complaint but is happy to take your money (rates are laughably just under $200/night), if you want to be woken up in the early 8 a.m. by workers who disregard the 'quiet ambiance' suggested by a bed and breakfast atmosphere, if you want a room where the bathroom door doesn't shut completely, this is your place. All of this problems would not be a problem is it was under $100. But this place -- not a traditional B&B, by the way, you're renting rooms with razor thin walls on the first floor of a 1960's house -- charges luxury prices for service that is rude and unacceptable. We've experienced a quieter, more respectful reception at a Motel 6. Every detail revealed was unbelievable -- Starting from being woken up by employees chatting it up two feet from your head, banging around the room next door and in the hallway, to the dirty carpet, to the shampoo miniatures that were half-full (couldn't they afford to replace those whole at $189/night?) to the owner who screamed at you over the phone when you called back to point these things out in a calm, respectful manner. Luxury prices, thrift shop atmosphere. Avoid at all cost. read more

We found the proprietors very pleasant and our room was huge, quiet and comfortable. We weren't wowed by breakfast, but there were plenty of options and it did the trick. Covered parking on site. All around great experience!! I stayed here while interviewing for a grad program at the UM. The B&B is in a great location that is within walking distance to the campus, downtown and the Amtrak. I stayed in the Ocean view room with a comfortable bed, nice shower and had my own private hot tub, which was very relaxing. The hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating . I left a very important item in the living room right before I left town and called Pat, the owner, and she sent it back to me no questions asked. It reached my home the day after I got back. My spouse and I have stayed at lots of B&Bs prior to this one and I can honestly say that this is best experience at a B&B that I have had. read more

Ann Arbor B&B is one of my favorite place to stay in the whole world. I discovered it about 6 years ago and from my first visit, I knew I would never stay anywhere else in Ann Arbor. Here are just a few of the things I love: - there is no better location. Adjacent to central campus and the hospital and a tiny stroll to restaurants, shops and theaters. - there is no better breakfast. If you don't like the abundant pastries, breads, egg dishes , granola and fresh fruits put out every morning, the innkeepers will gladly prepare you something else - the rooms vary in size and price, but each is charmingly decorated and stuffed with amenities like thick towels, comfortable beds, plenty of tables, lighting and toiletries. If you forgot or need something else for the room, all you need to do is ask - free parking!!! Right on premises. - the most hospitable, accommodating, generous inn keepers I've ever met. Pat and Bob make you feel like there's nothing you can't ask for. They know everything there is to know about Ann Arbor and UM. The lovely people who help them at the inn are happy, adore Pat and Bob and work for them year after year. You know it's a welcoming place when the owners and their staff are happy and grateful for each other. What a charming place right next to campus and surrounding Ann Arbor shopping hub. We had a very positive stay. We gathered a group of us (all Michigan alum) to take over the place during a Michigan Football weekend. The place was a bit cluttered with knick knacks everywhere, but added to its eccentric charm. All was clean and comfortable. The owners were welcoming and friendly, and kept a stash of candy, snacks, soda, and chips in the common area for anyone to have at their leisure. We gathered a group of us after the game in the common area for some card playing and festivities. The breakfasts were tasty; quiche or frittata, breakfast cake, and the basics -toast, yogurt, cereal, and coffee/tea. We chose a heavy rainy weekend in Ann Arbor, and extra umbrellas were left for us to use. I would definitely stay here for my next Ann Arbor visit. Thanks, Pat and Bob! And Marcia! read more

The Ann Arbor Bed and Breakfast was a lovely three story house located right at the intersection of Huron and Fletcher in the central campus area. I was in town for an ICPSR workshop during the summer and thought I'd try a bed and breakfast instead of the Dahlmann Inn, which seems to be one of the big local hotels and looked like any other big hotel. The Ann Arbor Bed and Breakfast was more competitively priced and included breakfast, which was prepared by Marcia, one of the owners. I believe they can handle custom breakfast requests, but since I'm not a picky eater, I just had whatever was offered (Day 1: waffles and bacon, Day 2: ham and eggs, Day 3: fresh fruit and yogurt). I stayed in the Freedom Trail room, which was comparable in size to a typical hotel room. The room also had an outdoor patio, which had a view of the neighbor's yard. Still, it was nice and clean if I wanted to read outdoors. It also had a desk and a large, comfortable king sized bed with tons of pillows and two large red leather chairs. Different rooms have different themes, though, which you can see on their website. I found a basket with a variety of snacks on the desk. I wasn't sure if there was a charge for them (as there would be at most hotels), but there really were no extra charges for anything here. The common area also had soda, coffee, tea, and fruit you could take anytime. For those from out of town (like me), there were also maps and a lengthy list of places to eat. In case you forgot a toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap, etc., I saw a bunch of travel-sized toiletries available as well, although I had brought everything I needed with me. Although I was here by myself on business, the place can definitely accommodate families. The room had a tv and a dvd player. The television had cable available. Dvds were available to borrow (for free) from a large collection in the common area next to the dining area. They were all a bunch of mainstream movies of varying ratings (G-R). A pleasantly fast, free wifi connection is also available for you to use, either with your own computer or with the one in the common area, which also has a printer you can use. The bedroom had a rollaway bed/mattress and extra pillow stored in the closet. My only complaints about this place are that the trash cans were a little small, as was the dresser. But really, that's it. Everything else about the place was nice, including the decorations, the price, the location, all the available free goodies, breakfasts, and the friendliness of the owners and staff. In the event that I'm ever in Ann Arbor again, I'll probably repeat my stay. Whether travelling alone on business, with the family, or looking for a quiet couples retreat, it seems like it'd be hard to go wrong with this place. read more

All around excellent experience. I've stayed in about a dozen b and b's and after getting lured in by nice pictures online, I usually complain about the same things: cheap uncomfortable bed, shower doesn't drain, a/c doesn't work, etc.... This place was the opposite, cumfy bed, nice shower, EXCELLENT location (right across from U of M/short walk to downtown), and they have a lot of quirky collectables throughout the house that I loved. Not the usual china cabinet filled with creepy dolls and oddles of lace, they have lots of old Star Wars figures, penguins, old signs, a ton of really good dvds, too much to list. We also got kinda lucky, in that the week we went the owners were out of town and their friend was watching the place. She had a dog, Claire, we fell in love with (and wanted to steal!). We had just had to put our last dog to sleep a few weeks ago, and for the first time in a long time we have a dogless home, so when we seen Claire and got to spend some time petting her, it was just what we needed. The price was amazing too, especially for the price, less than $170 with tax, for a nice room with a full kitchen and a big private balcony. We will be back!! read more

I've never written a negative review before, but after how disrespectful the man/owner of AA B&B was, I wanted to share my warning and disappointment with other perspective clients as well as the owners. I'm a Wolverine alumna who has stayed at AA B&B before and had a pleasant experience--although I didn't have the opportunity to meet the innkeepers, as they were out of town, but the young woman who was their substitute innkeeper for the week was extremely kind and professional. Last year (late 2012) I called AA B&B to book multiple rooms for my family for my brother's UM graduation 2015. The man told me that reservations could not be booked for graduation 2015 until Jan. 1, 2014. I promptly called back on Dec. 31, 2013 and he told me they were already full for graduation 2015. When I tried to explain that I had called a year ago and he had asked me specifically to call back 1/1/14, and I was a loyal former customer (who really just wanted an apology), he wouldn't let me finish my sentences and kept rudely interrupting me to loudly say "I said we're full for 2015! You can call Campus Inn instead! I repeat , we're full for 2015!" and eventually hung up on me. It was one of the most rude and unprofessional experiences I've had with anyone in the service industry. All I wanted was a simple, "I'm very sorry for the mix up. This was my bad. We value your business, and I'll make sure to call you myself next time to confirm your next reservation with us." I wasn't expecting any unrealistic action to be taken (i.e., kicking others out to magically get rooms for me)--merely a professional, authentic apology. I'm someone who always prefers to support small, local, family-owned businesses, but I won't stay at AA B&B again. Being a family owned business doesn't excuse a business owner from treating customers with kindness and respect. read more
