I'm traveling in Michigan this week with a colleague and he booked this hotel and I was curious what this was. Looking from the outside I didn't see anything extremely extraordinary but when I got to the room and looked closer, this is a step above. Whether boutique is the right name or not, I really liked this place! Checked in easily even two hours early, which was great, king size bed with lots of pillows, above standard linens, Starbucks, coffee, TV refrigerator the basics until you go to the bathroom. Took me a minute to look and see the details then when my eyes got focused first thing I noticed was a full sauna shower with overhead showerhead, jets coming from the back, extendable wand, Good sized with easy push button water jets. Then to the toilet! Full state of the art bidet toilet with heated seat, heated water, spray, dryer, temperature controls not your standard bathroom. This is a $3000 toilet lol. I'm getting one for my house! Then I look at the mirror and there are buttons with Bluetooth on off and on the ceiling, Bose stereo speakers that you can sync your phone to while you take a shower and listen to music. Have to say for a little over 200 bucks a night hotels I've stayed at in New York City for $400 may have had more room, but they didn't have amenities like this. This is an older looks like a family owned business, with plenty of conference rooms, and just those extra touches that told me this place was above and beyond. Then we had to Webster's restaurant for lunch and had another great experience.. Great service, we both had soup and salad with my colleague. Having the lobster bisque. I opted for the black bean soup of the day, which was fabulous! Lots of protein lots of flavor not your standard black bean soup. The walnut cranberry salad was perfect for my diet and the full menu was actually quite inviting. Went back out to work to see another. Client came back and decided to eat dinner here so we actually sat at the bar where we had a couple of cocktails, then looked at the menu, but once I was told prime rib was a specialty. I went ahead and opted for the 12 ounce prime rib, which came out perfectly rare to medium rare. My colleague got the ribeye also medium rare. Perfect, we had a escargot and some great short rib, stuffed pastry, and au jus, couldn't really reverse engineer it, but it was quite tasty. Full bar selection, excellent brands and great wine selection. Breakfast was a little pricey, but expected. Having recently had a heart attack. I opted for the overnight oats with apple and Greek yogurt while the other dish was the American breakfast with eggs hashbrowns sausage, the Works. This is fine, dining, tablecloths, servers are all spot on, front staff is cordial and friendly. Just not something you get at a Hilton or a Marriott that we typically stay at. Price points were a little higher, but have to say I was not only pleasantly surprised but very impressed. Being an older place. There's a lot of finished wood work, sitting areas that are nicely decorated. Personally, I loved it. The next time in the area, I will gladly come back and enjoy everything they have to offer here. We were attending a wedding in the area and this was the recommended to us hotel by the bride & groom. We waited too long to decide to go so the discount for the block of rooms had ended. So we ended up just booking at regular rate. My daughter used the hot tub and sauna- she thought they were good. She ordered a non-alcoholic pinacolada from the bar area for the pool area and it was good, but expensive for it being non-alcoholic ($12) . The room was rougher than we expected- some due to use- some poor/sloppy craftsmanship. The shower turning on and off water took a bit to process how to regulate the temperature. We weren't planning on spending much time in the room so while things were bothersome they weren't worth complaining to management about at the time. Weber's is a unique, independently owned hotel with plenty of personality. It has a fun, quirky atmosphere that's a nice change from the typical chain hotel. We booked one of the remodeled suites, and the bathroom was the highlight of our stay. The oversized jacuzzi tub and the incredible shower were amazing and made the suite feel luxurious. Unfortunately, the suite had a few significant drawbacks. The Toto bidet had an unpleasant odor coming from the water, which was surprising given how nice the bathroom was. The biggest issue, however, was the climate control. The living room was so cold that it was uncomfortable to sit there, while the bedroom received almost no air conditioning. There was simply no way to make the entire suite comfortable. The bedroom stayed warm all night, and combined with the heavy down comforter, I barely slept. It's a shame because the bed itself was exceptionally comfortable. Although the hotel has clearly been remodeled, the craftsmanship in both the suite and the hallways left something to be desired. There were enough finish quality issues that the remodel didn't quite live up to its premium appearance. One thing Weber's absolutely gets right is the restaurant. The food was excellent and ended up being one of the highlights of our visit. Would I stay here again? Yes, but I would skip the suite. Without the climate control issue, this easily would have been a 4 star stay. Unfortunately, a hotel room that doesn't allow for a good night's sleep is hard to overlook. If there were a Westin in Ann Arbor, I would probably choose that because I know I'd get a better night's sleep. Otherwise, I would spend a little more time researching other options before booking again. Weber is my personal favorite hotel in Ann Arbor. And these are the reasons why. First, it is a small family owned boutique hotel that should be so much bigger. Seriously. They could easily be one of the premier hotels. The finishes are just above and beyond. I love the wifi/Bluetooth mirrors in the bathroom that allows me to connect my music. The showers offer you rain, side, and handheld options. And....they can easily fit 2 if you and your significant other should be in the mood. And now my favorite part....the bidet is my new favorite friend. Yes, I bought the same brand for my home. And now, the bar/restaurant. They are what make this hotel so special. It is NOT ANYTHING like your typical hotel restaurant. Not even close. I have worked in the hotel industry for years and over saw the Guest Relations/Experience department at some of the world's finest hotels. If they had the meeting space, this property could go to the next level. It has all the jewels, just not the space to be so much bigger. The steaks are wonderful but the seafood is incredible. And should you decide to try their brunch.... don't forget to make a reservation. Especially on holidays and game weekends. Lastly, the final reason I continue to stay at Webers. The staff, staff, staff. They know I like 3 particular rooms, and they do everything possible to make it happen. Not just because of my status with them but they really try and make their guests happy. The bartender knows that I like TEA to take to bed with me. She will keep a glass behind for me if she knows I am a guest. Every night. Who does that? The habitat. The Mgr at the breakfast bar continues to make my sandwich and Starbucks style coffee for me. Even though it is not only the menu anymore. And housekeeping, they are always quick at addressing my needs. In closing, their loyalty program. I hope to finally reach their top tier this year. Even if you only visit Webers a couple times a year, it is worth signing up. The offers to the Habitat and the Webers Restaurant make it worth it. I am a pretty high on the Marriott program and I admit, I miss my 4 pm check out. However, Marriott doesn't have a full service property in Ann Arbor that comes close to Webers. read more

I agree that the word "boutique" is misleading here. Pluses: location; quick check-in; rates at a par with others in the area; cool pool area; although I didn't eat in the restaurant or visit the bar, I could tell by the cars in the lot that they are very popular spots, even on a Tuesday night! Minuses: the Google cast didn't work on the big screen tv so I couldn't watch Netflix or any of the services I actually subscribe to; the ac automatically switched to HEAT in the middle of the night and I woke up in a full sweat, even though I adjusted the temp by hand, half an hour later it was on heat again!; no instructions for coffee-maker; at check-out the guy didn't ask how my stay was or express any cordiality at all and I thought that was borderline rude; I couldn't turn OFF the heated toilet seat so that was blisteringly hot. These little things added up to the meh review above. I like that this is a family-joint. I get that. But I think they can pay attention to these little things; they make a difference. read more

It was a pleasure staying at Weber's in Ann Arbor. Me and my BF were staying for a business trip and this hotel was right between the meeting location and the airport. After a long late flight, we were greeted kindly by the young lady( didn't get her name but she was amazing) at the desk. She checked us in and was the sweetest. The room was fabulous, Loved the heated seats and shower. Bed was super comfy. It was a quick trip but a great stay to relax, I wish we had time to hit the hot tub and restaurant. My husband and I were staying at Weber's on Friday when the power went out. We ended up driving home but I was disappointed because we were on a small get away for my bday. However the hotel handled the whole situation so well and was super nice! They gave me a certificate for another stay in a suite. I highly recommend this hotel. As a patron that came back to Webber's, I'm a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong. The ambience of the restaurant and the weight staff was phenomenal. Even the hotel was out of this world. There's always room for improvement, though went there for my birthday had the equivalent to a $200 dinner with friends/family was having a great time, but when it came to the food, it seemed like whoever was plating the dishes has been dropping the ball and the food tasted OK but the presentation looked pretty awful. Even all the way up to the desert, you buy a single cheesecake and nothing on the plate no artistic flare. It looks like somebody just was rushed in the background and didn't bother putting any type of thought and decorating plates. I also know that we are paying extra for meat nowadays, as well as the experience to eat out having that said it's a little sad that if you're going to pay top dollar for a lobster tail, you would think that it would be a decent size with less shell than meat. Especially when everything was served individually and not on the same plate which they could've saved themselves some washing to do. Aside from that everything tasted great except for the desserts. They were lacking in flavor the famous cheesecake, which was vanilla by the way and their vanilla crème brûlée was very nice put together, but lacked and flavor as well. Whoever is in the kitchen, they needed to spike the vanilla more. It felt like they weren't even trying. Which saddens me because I've been coming to this restaurant for over 41 years. read more

I can't understand how this hotel isn't 4+ stars. My partner and I have been coming here for years and have never had anything but a perfect experience. What philistines. I wanted to do a staycation this week because my boyfriend had the week off work, and I chose Ann Arbor because it's one of my favorite cities. Originally we were going to do Hyatt Place, near Briarwood, because I've stayed there before and really liked it, but Weber's came up for $108 for one night, which is pretty reasonable, so I switched. (Tip: sign up for their rewards program - it was actually $120 for the night but I got 10% off, so the total was $108) They took our temperatures when we got to the hotel, which was interesting but probably a good safeguard. We were in room 340, which was not a pool-facing room (those are a little extra per night). Although we didn't dine in their restaurant for dinner, we had breakfast there the next day, and it was pretty good; I'd give it 3.5/5 stars (see my Weber's restaurant review for more details on that). The room itself was overall very nice, and like others have mentioned, the bathroom was pretty awesome (and in fact one of the reasons I booked Weber's, haha). It has a bluetooth system in the MIRROR where you can connect your phone and then listen to music while you shower - there were two Bose speakers in the bathroom. My boyfriend and I agreed it would have been a little better if the speakers were in the actual shower area, but it was still really cool, and probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen in a hotel bathroom (and pre-COVID, I traveled a lot, both for work and personal). The room itself was not that big - I believe the website said 275 square feet - but the bed was very comfortable. There's also a mini-fridge in the room. Due to COVID, you have to ask for some things that normally might be in the room, like coffee ... my boyfriend asked for coffee last night, for the morning, and they didn't have any regular, only decaf. However, there is a "Coffee Bar" by the restaurant where you can buy coffee in the morning, if you so choose. We also used the pool area which was super nice - it was a saltwater pool, which I was not expecting. They also have a hot tub and sauna, both of which are closed right now due to COVID, although the hot tub only had a small sign that said "CLOSED" on it ... we saw some people using it anyways. The pool has a max capacity of 8 people right now due to the pandemic but it was just us and a few kids when we went. No towels so make sure to grab some from your hotel room. Overall, Weber's was pretty nice and I would definitely stay there again. It's a short 5-8 minute drive from the downtown Ann Arbor/Main St. area, too, which I think was a little closer than Hyatt Place. read more

This is a review of their grocery pick up that they are doing to keep this wonderful business and those great employees employed during this pandemic. You order online with lots of choices of the stables and some of meal kits. You can even get a roll of toilet paper which lately seems more valuable than oil. Since I am a widow, I just stocked up on a few things that freeze well. I am driving from Southfield now but EBS wants me to do my part helping out one of our regular places. I even ate at their last Sunday brunch before the stay at home order and WILL be back at the 1st one after it is lifted. I ordered the Lobster Bisque which was full of lobster chunks. It was the same price per serving as some other places that wouldn't know what a lobster chunk looks like by the amount of lobster in theirs. I also got the salmon pate and garlic toast to go with it. Had to also get crab cakes and Weber's Bakery Challah buns. If I lived closer, their soberts would have added. You get an hour time slot to drive up to pick it up. You call their number to let them know you are there. You are told which number of table to drive up. They bring out your food and leave so you can get out and put the food into your car. They have plastic gloves and spray for you to use. I believe it was one of the owners, Mike Weber who brought mine out. EBS introduced me to Mike the first time he brought me here to eat but that was over 3 years ago. I hope they can go back to the old business model soon, but I will drive from Southfield once a month until they do. read more

Stayed in one of the recently renovated rooms. Still "Euro" size, but they make the most of the space with pocket doors, glass-walled shower and other space-saving features. Musical bathroom mirror with Bluetooth connection and Bose speakers was fun. Pool area with sauna and hot tub is enjoyable, although can get overrun with kids on weekends. Lobby area always smells fresh. Biggest selling point is onsite restaurant and bar. Late night nachos at Habitat lounge are a great value, and the live music is dependably solid. Weekday happy hour includes access to a complimentary cheeseball - look for the table on the dance floor and help yourself to however much you want. Make sure to save room for the HH portion London Broil with mashed potatoes. read more

Great meal, great drinks, great service. enjoyed it immensely - however, we had to leave our credit card to hold the reservation. Our reservation was December 16, and we paid in cash for our meal - somehow, our credit card was still charged on December 13 for $50. When reviewing our January credit card statement we noticed the charge. We called Webers Inn and they said "OOPS we should have credited you back that amount". What would have happened if we hadn't caught that on our credit card - and why did they charge us on December 13th for a reservation on December 16th reservation ??? Not a good look - not sure I will leave a credit card for a reservation in the future !!! read more

Talk about deceptive business practices. I paid about 100.00 more for a pool side room to be put on the 4th floor with a balcony that over looked the pool. I told the Hotel Receptionist that I assumed I was on floor 1 and he laughed at me and said "We have 4 floors of pool side sir." The room itself was very clean and 1st class and the bathroom was awesome with something I never saw before - bluetooth speakers. Yet this morning that turned to a big negative when another guests music selection of LOUD RAP music woke us up from our bathroom speakers. The Mgt said the pool was kids and adults from 9am to 9pm. From 9pm to Midnight was adults only. What they failed to mention is that next to the pool is a game room where kids could scream till past 11pm which was VERY ANNOYING. The pool was a few degrees too cold, the hot tub was perfect and the dry sauna was one of the best I ever enjoyed! Took wife to dinner at the Hotel and of course it was first class other than we were seated a tad too close to the live piano which made our personal conversation difficult. read more

Two stars because this is a two star hotel. Let's be clear the "boutique" here is lipstick on a pig. This is an old motel and as hard as they tried to boutique this place it's impossible to remove the stench as you walk down the hallways. The rates are double what they should be, and talking about standard weekends. There appears to be no manager in sight or if there is, they have no hospitality training at all. Rooms are not ready when they are supposed to be, yet they magically offer you a room at double the rate because it's pool view. Seriously! We're in Ann Arbor. The pool is indoors with kids splashing in it. Beyond absurd. My suggestion is get a room at one of the many budget hotels as you'll likely get a better experience without a boutique label or rate. read more

I cannot express how utterly disappointed and angry I am about my stay. The things this hotel got wrong completely overshadowed what it got right. This was to be a romantic getaway for our 31st wedding anniversary. We booked a Poolside Spa Suite based on numerous great reviews. Plus an on-site steakhouse and bar with live Jazz? Sounded exquisite! Things started promisingly enough. Check-in was smooth, the staff was solicitous. Our suite was clean and bright and we were enchanted by the "water room". The room was chilly, so we turned up the heat. Since the pool was teeming with children, we decided to postpone a swim until later and availed ourselves of the marvelous bubble tub instead. We had reservations at the on-site restaurant and reserved a table for after dinner to listen to the Jazz quartet. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The food? Stellar. My French Martini was perfect. The raw oysters were so fresh! My husband's steak and my prime rib were perfectly cooked, and we were really pleased with the wine list. After dinner: drinks and Jazz. Absolutely delightful! We headed upstairs to prepare for a quiet adult swim. Then, it all fell apart. The room was still cold. We had been told that kids were to be out of the pool at 10PM. At 10:30, there were still kids screaming in the pool. OK, fine, it's the middle of winter, people are stir-crazy. Water room! We have a bubble tub! Another hot, bubbly soak! At some point, the noise changed from screaming kids to loud music and screaming adults. It had been my understanding that it was to be QUIET in the pool after 10PM. It was anything but. We tried to ignore it. Nope. So we tried to use the Chromecast function on the main TV. Nope. Tried it on the TV in the bedroom. Nope. Fine, we won't bother with TV. Tried to turn both TVs off. They would not turn off until we unplugged the one in the bedroom. Fine, sleep. Right? No. Grown "adults" blasting music and screaming in the pool. At midnight. Outside rooms where - presumably - people are trying to relax and sleep. My husband called the front desk, infuriated. He was unkind. He was also correct - if we are spending $500 for a night in a premium suite, we shouldn't have to hear SCREAMING outside our room at MIDNIGHT. The desk said "We'll ask them to turn it down." They didn't "turn it down". In fact, they carried on even louder until after 12:30. AND THE ROOM WAS STILL COLD! If I am paying FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for a night, I expect that - at the dead minimum - the TV works, the room gets warm, and it's QUIET after 10PM. Restaurant and water room: 5 stars Freezing, noisy, TV-less room: Negative 2 stars. Final score: 2 stars. I will never return. We'll be sticking to the Belamere, where for the same price we get a PRIVATE pool and sauna, a jacuzzi tub, massage shower, fireplace, FUNCTIONING HEAT, quiet, AND they bring you breakfast. If you're nearby and hungry, the restaurant is stellar. If you expect to sleep, book a room at the Comfort Inn or some other budget joint. read more

Do not book a room for a quiet getaway. Hotel: poolside king was a nightmare.. freakin kids overrun the pool, game area, hot tub, and even poolside bar.. it was so insanely loud. I decided to tempt fate and maybe wait until there were less kids invading only to find hair everywhere poolside and a band aid. Gross. The room looked like it had seen better days. Chipped worn in furniture.. didn't seem super clean. We ended up complaining and switching rooms hence the additional star. Once we moved to a higher level AWAY from the pool it was muuuuch better. The room even seemed less worn. Sadly for the price I am utterly disappointed at the entire experience and the room wasn't anything special. Restaurant: mediocre.. nothing stood out as being amazing and our steak wasn't grilled.. it looked like they just used a flat top which is sort of odd considering it's Webers Restaurant. Pretty pricy for mediocre food. Also, when we called to order room service they told us they weren't taking orders at that time because they were too busy. Yeaaaa... no, not how that works. Luckily we got our order to go through online though. Overall: absolutely do not waste your money for a quiet romantic staycation/getaway because it is anything but. Would rather stay in a cardboard box under the I94 overpass than the hotel. I had to unplug the TV to turn off. No chromecast as advertised. I would have brought my device had I known and it would not have been a problem. Pool out of staff control. If you want a good dinner, it's a great option. If you are a light jazz fan same. This is a family owned hotel and it's very quaint. My room was very clean and my bed was comfortable. The bathroom has not been updated and is very small and the bathroom outlet which has the plug and the switch together was old and needs to be replaced. Front desk folks were very nice but do not offer water upon check in and there is none in your room. But if you ask for some then will give you a bottle from the front desk. To me, it would be an automatic question upon checkin especially when you are competing with a new Hampton Inn across the street. I would stay here again but only if they had rooms with updated bathrooms. read more

I expected much more from this establishment. I flew in from Florida for my father's wedding this past weekend and was sadly disappointed. Katrina graciously assisted me with reserving my hotel room as part of the wedding party and the block of rooms. She kept me up-to-date and communicated in a timely manner. Additionally, Anna at the front desk was very polite, accommodating, and informative when calling about an early check-in. The other positive feature about this hotel was the water pressure (this will make more sense as you read on). Julie/Julia/whatever her name is at the front desk should be taken away from phone-duty and placed in the back where you stock toilet paper. My father's fiancé was told to call at 0900 the morning of her wedding to see if she could check into a suite that was not booked the night before so she could get ready for her big day. Mind you, the ceremony was scheduled to start at 5PM on the Weber's property. Julie (I'm probably still getting her name wrong) told her she wasn't in the system and continued to scold her for calling about a room that wasn't guaranteed until 4PM. THE MORNING OF HER WEDDING!! Who does that to a bride!? Not only did Julie cause tears to my poor soon-to-be stepmother's eyes, but she answered my brother's phone call and mine. My brother was told he wasn't guaranteed a room until 4PM regardless of any notes on his account. When I called, before I could even tell her why I was calling, she stated, "yeah yeah I have your reservation pulled up now. I see the early check-in note but unfortunately we cannot guarantee anything until 4. We don't even start the checkout process until 12 so you should probably call back around 1230-1 o'clock to see if we can even attempt to get you into a room." Thanks a bunch Julie. At 1130, I called Weber's front desk again and thankfully Anna answered. She had zero problems getting me an early check in AND magically a room appeared that was cleaned and ready to go. Anna was also the individual who checked me in when I arrived at the property. She did inform me of a double charge on the account but reassured me all was taken care of; which it was. Not too sure why Anna had an easy time communicating while Julie had a thorn in her ass. The rooms: Beds were comfy! But, we opened the mini-fridge and there was a brown puddle on the bottom. There was also a cracked drinking glass on the dresser. Bathroom a bit small and the towels will exfoliate your skin more than any loofa you can buy. Toilet flushed very slow and the tub also did not drain well. The banquet room, ceremony area, and pool all seemed very compact. The wait staff asked us many times if we were done with our drinks when they were half full and if we were done eating while we were still eating! Then, once they cleared the tables, there was another waiter coming around asking if we wanted coffee. .....bro...you took my coffee cup. How do you expect me to drink this now? My brother, sister, and I went back to my hotel room at 1030. We were laughing apparently too loud because a hotel desk pounded on our room asking us to keep it down. 5 minutes later, 2 men pounded our door; one wearing a suit and another in street clothes. No name tags, no announcing who they were, nothing. We had my brother answer the door because of this. They said it was too loud and guests were complaining. My brother said, "We're getting ready to wrap things up. We apologize." A bit concerned, my sister called the front desk. She was told it was hotel security. If it was hotel security, why on EARTH didn't they announce who they were?! You really think 2 young females are going to answer the door of unannounced men without name tags while 4 weddings are going on? In the morning upon checkout, we were not asked how our stay was. The entire ordeal made us feel like we were consistently being rushed out. I will not be back at this hotel and will make damn sure anyone who mentions this establishment knows of my awful experience. read more

I want Weber's to be great... but it isn't. Nothing quite lives up to the hype. Ann Arbor needs a really high end boutique hotel, but right now this isn't it. Our reservation wasn't booked correctly, resulting in a one-night only stay (I booked by phone - error on their part), and the finishes are just "meh." Vending didn't work, and pool area needs a serious update. (Still can't get the smell of the chemicals out of my swimsuit, several weeks later.) Not awful. Just not worth it. 10/10 CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I ran out of gas on the side of the road and barely made it into the Webers parking lot. I could not get the gas into the tank alone and went into Webers to ask if anyone could help me. I didn't have high hopes- but then a lovely woman named Johnnie came to the rescue. She walked with me to my car and spent 15 minutes working to figure out my complicated gas can. I cannot appreciate her and her customer service enough! I heard from a very close friend that he had gone to Weber's years ago and the steaks were good. Si I thought that Sara and I would take Reagan and Tay here as our last big night out while visiting them in Ann Arbor, MI. The place looks great S we pulled into the parking lot and smelled good once we got through the doors. We had about a 10 minute wait even though we had a reservation. They were that busy. We were seated in a section towards the back of the restaurant and were prepared to have a dining experience that would be memorable. Our server, Laura, came to the table and were ordered our drinks. She came back with a basket full of assorted breads with butter and a Damon pate'. The bread was very good and the others said the pate' was great. We ordered our meals and enjoyed the breads. The French Onion soups came out and we all said they were great! I asked for some fresh ground pepper and our server, Laura, came back and just handed me the pepper mill and walked away. Hold on here! This is a 5 start restraint and you hand me the pepper mill? That was the first bump! We finished our soups and the steaks came out. Sara, Tay and Reagan were happy with their choices of meat and the food was hot. I cut into mine and took the first bite and it was COLD!!! I gave a piece to Sara to try and she agreed. Bump #2! It took Laura about 7 minuets before she came back by our table and I told her the steak was COLD! She said I'll take care or it and took the plate away. About 10 minuets passed and she showed up with the same plate with the same piece of end cut that might of been 10 degrees hotter. IT WAS SILL NOT HOT! I used the pepper mill that was still sitting on the table and moved on. The flavor and tenderness was there but the temperature was not! The meal ended and Laura asked if we wanted desert. I piped up and said yes. The desert menu's were a dropped off in front of Reagan (he had to pass them out!). We picked the Carrot Cake and one other. Laura never crumb swept the table and just set double forks. The carrot cake was lame. The other was great! The coffee that Tay and I had was a COLD as my steak! I'm not impressed at all and defiantly not happy with our service, my steak, one of our deserts and the coffee. For that kind of money they truly need to improve things. Bottom line.... Don't waste that kind of money on Weber's because the food and the service ISR just not up to par. read more

We pulled into Weber's this afternoon after a long drive from Chicago and thought it odd that the parking lot was empty but it is not football season (when we have stayed here before) or graduation time so shrugged it off. Unfortunately, as soon as we walked into the lobby, we were informed that the hotel lost power in yesterday's storm and that the power would not be back on for at least another day or two. We were also informed that most other area hotels (that were not impacted by the storm) were sold out because of the power outage affecting not just hotel guests without a room but residents in the area too. When I asked why we were not alerted of this yesterday or even earlier today when we may have been able to secure other nearby and comparable accommodations, the response was, "we tried to call people." Really? The hotel has 158 rooms. How many of those rooms do you think were scheduled for check in on this random Thursday in July (again, not football season and school is not even in session)? Let's say 30% of the rooms were scheduled for check in today (and we know that is a stretch), they couldn't make 45-50 phone calls in 24 hours?!?! I understand that they had no control over the power outage but the lack of communication (which we suspect was because they were hoping the power would be back on and didn't want to lose the revenue) cost us 2 more hours in the car (we drove to Birmingham and will drive back to Ann Arbor for our appointment there tomorrow) and an extra $450. They did not give us a voucher for a future stay, have other hotels lined up for guests, or even offer a sincere apology. Totally unacceptable. Suffices to say that the only reason this review has two stars is because we have stayed there twice before and been satisfied. Sadly for them though, we won't be back. There are so many hotels in Ann Arbor with a better location (I am kicking myself for being loyal to Weber's and not booking at The Graduate as I considered) and that at least pretend to care about the customer. We dined at the restaurant, did not stay at the hotel. The restaurant was very good. Husband had prime rib. I had the stroganoff- it was delicious. The Mac and cheese and the lobster bisque also very tasty. Salad was fresh and had cranberries and almond slivers. Server was very attentive. Atmosphere of restaurant was very nice- warm and cozy. Reminded me of the old Steak and Ale restaurants. Would highly recommend!! read more

What a lovely evening my husband and I had at Weber's while celebrating our anniversary! Such a warm and cozy atmosphere! We started our meal with an appetizer of the short rib puffs. I ordered prime rib for dinner and my husband ordered the Maryland crab cakes. Everything was amazing. Prime rib was cooked perfectly as ordered. Service was impeccable. When we thought our experience couldn't get any better, the manager, Christina came to our table to introduce herself and see how our evening was going. She was a gem and truly wanted to be sure our experience was as delightful as it was. 5+ stars from this couple! read more

The WiFi was so bad I missed an important zoom call I was running because I couldn't connect. Ended up having to stand in the parking lot to join the call. Embarassing for a decent city and definitely embarrassing for me. Hotel wouldn't serve us a glass of wine at 9:34pm after visiting our college student bc they weren't allowed to serve after 9:30. Totally insane for a college town. Definitely won't stay here again. read more

Weber's is an independent boutique hotel that does not disappoint. I love the fact that this hotel has been family run since 1937. The family gives the hotel a modern feel while keeping the charm of the classic hotel in tact. The room was comfortable and the salt water pool was refreshing after a long drive in from Chicago. Wowza was that pool awesome, located in an Atrium space with lots of natural light coming in. Since the hotel is right off the highway it was a quick find at our exit. I loved how everything is connected - restaurants, indoor pool, lounge. I stayed with my family so it was nice to have everything available without having to leave the premises. My family will definitely be back on our next trip to Ann Arbor. read more

This review is for the restaurant. Weber's has a lot to offer: from the boutique hotel, nightlife in Habitat Lounge, to fine dining in the restaurant. Our reservation was for 8:30pm. I checked in at 7:30pm and we sat at the bar. Hostess found us and said our table was ready whenever we were, no rush. That was nice. We enjoyed a drink and appetizer with the live jazz 3-piece. We took the table and started checking the specials, since it's restaurant week. Specials are a good place to start if we hadn't already had dishes in mind. I ordered Ribeye Oscar Med Rare, salad, and mushrooms. Hubs ordered the Horseradish encrusted NY Strip, Med Well, with scalloped potatoes and salad. Salads were very nice. Well dressed with toasted almonds and dried cherries. Dressings on the side. I do wish tomato basil was not a default for the Soup de Jour. This has been the soup on my last three visits. My husband's steak was perfect. Great flavor, crust, cooked perfectly. Mine was not. It was well done and there is no fixing that to Med Rare except a redo. Staff was excellent at resolving the issue. Manager visited and comp'd my next glass of wine. Very appropriate and appreciated. Once I had my steak, I was in heaven. Though next time, I won't bother with the added Oscar topping. Wasn't worth it, though it was good too. The steak stands alone. We topped off the evening with sharing the infamous Strawberry Shortcake. Plenty to share and very good way to end the evening - though I would suggest finishing your wine and clearing your palate before diving in. Great meal with well-handled hiccup. I honestly enjoyed dining here (It's good a casual date/hosting an event) - I most say the waitress/waiters are pretty awesome. I came with a group of people (about 16 people); I tell you we put staff to work. I was pleased with the knowledge of their menu and recommendation - believe me we asked a ton of questions and we were replied with a smile/answer. There were a ton of selections of food to choose from - please note most dinners start at $20 and goes up. I do wish the food was a little bit more seasoned - I ordered the shrimp stuffed crab dinner; it was just ok and i probably won't order it again but my other friends truly enjoyed their steak dinners (I think i will try that next time if anything). Weber's is a family owned hotel and event spot that I stayed at for a work trip to Ann Arbor. The customer service was great when you check in and they had a great restaurant that offered breakfast, snacks and room service. Attached to the restaurant they also have live music during the week at night. The hotel room was solid with a lounge chair and desk to work or relax and read. I had a king size bed which was more than enough space but I loved the combination of pillows available because they all had different levels of softness. The carpet felt a little damp due to the humidity levels but the room temp was adjustable. There is plenty of parking but if there's an event happening you'll have to park farther from the door. read more

3 months later I find myslef in Ann Arbour again for a week while m husband attends business classes. This time we got an upgrade to a king suite with hottub which turns out to be a regular bathtub with jets like I have at home. Also this so called suite is smaller than the regular room we had last time and for $300 a night a bit dissapointing. Though his job paid for the stay I was still not as happy with the room. It was on the top floor which no airconditioning in the hallways and with it being 100 degrees the whole week I was here and having direct pool access which was brought the heat it, it wasn't as nice a stay. The staff is still great, the rest of the hotel nice, just seems like they stopped renovations on the fourth floor, not only were the hallways hot but also not painted and the ceilings weren't finished. We didn't dine in again, except for the free martini and beer on the first night, martini was horrible again, the beer was better. Breakfast tasted great again, it was just pricy, I had 4 pastries and paid $12 and couldn't help but think how much I could have bought at Kroger for that money. In all still a great hotel, we will be back for business but if it was upto me, I would find a much better deal on Hotwire. read more

This was, unfortunately, pretty disappointing. Weber's is billed as one of the destination hotels in Ann Arbor, but my experience was anything but extraordinary (save for the restaurant-that is definitely worth checking out). We stayed in the Resort Suite and had a package for dinner/drinks/movie/breakfast. Occasion was our anniversary. Room cost is billed at $359, package was $199. The room was in very poor repair (see picture). Water damage on the ceiling and walls was literally just painted over. The heated towel rack in the bathroom was literally just cut out of the wall with wires still exposed. The hot tub was literally missing pieces. The inside balcony on this room has zero view, is in poor repair with serious carpet staining, and is shared with the adjacent room. Certainly, CERTAINLY, not what is expected of a $300+ room. The package was just okay, but honestly I don't recommend it. Aside from the dinner credit, everything else was kind of a scam. The $15 drink credit that could be used with dinner or at the bar could not be used on wine (it's kind of a wine place...); the $10 ppv movie credit was a joke as the cost to rent a new release on their system was $20(!); and I still ended up paying out for a breakfast literally called "carte blanche, with gratuity included." All things considered, I'd go into Detroit next time and hit the Westin or the Fountain for an experience that's much more carefully curated. Good luck! read more

Shocker. I was not expecting much at all. My parents dragged me here for lunch with ominous promises of a buffet that was a mere $7.99. Yikes. I was only willing after my father ponied up a bonus offer of an escargot app, the man is smart and knows me well. The escargot here are some of the best I have had in awhile. Tender, fresh and bathed in little cups of herbed butter. It comes with garlic bread to dunk into the sauce but the bonus here is they serve up a basket full of fresh bread for the table that makes for happy dipping too. I have to eat these away from James as the sight of me gobbling down snails makes him literally need to vomit. Yeah. This from the man who can watch truly gross videos while eating. I guess everyone has their limits. I was not expecting much after that. I went to the buffet and decided salad was the way to go. Happily they make their dressings in house, and the prepared salads on the salad bar, soups too. I put a little lettuce on my plate, some happily ripe sliced tomato, added a big scoop of chicken salad, some almonds for on top, some veggies for dipping into it and hard boiled egg slices for the hell of it. Already I feel like I am getting my money's worth. I added a little scoop of bowtie pasta salad, a bit of some homemade looking potato salad, a spoonful of fruit salad with coconut and I also added some fresh chunks of watermelon, canteloupe and pineapple from the other fruit bowl. I swung by the table behind me and got a small 1/2 cup of soup, beef stroganoff being the flavor of the day and my choice, but they also have chili. When I started eating I was wide eyed. This stuff was fresh! Not over mayo-ed Gordon Foods/Sysco crap! The fruit and veggies were perfect, the prepared salads were not drenched. Ripe and just lovely. At this point I am pretty full but I am curious so I forge ahead for the benefit of my fellow Yelpers (yes I am full of crap, I'm just a glutton). The mains were turkey and ham with mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy and woohoo cranberry sauce. They also had some sad looking canned type green beans, those were avoided by me. The turkey was breast only but tasty, not dried out dreck. The ham was sweet with a bit of necessary smoke, very honeybaked type and therefore happy as hell. The taters were real (with lumps!) and the dressing was terrific covered in gravy. The cranberry sauce had actual berries in it but was still jelly-esque which makes me nostalgic and added pop to the meal. Everything was pretty damn good. Lunch buffet runs from 11am-2pm. $7.99 people. Items rotate: on Wednesdays it is BBQ ribs, on Fridays it is various types of fish and clam chowder. They have Americanized theme days with versions of German (brats and knockwurst with red cabbage and spaetzle), Irish (corned beef and cabbage) and Mexican (tacos, burritos and Mexican rice) foods. There are also days with items like chicken and dumplings, stuffed peppers, fried chicken and baked chicken. There are always two protein options with a veggie and at least one starch. Also they feature a make your own sandwich section which I did not try with salami and other cold cuts, cheese and condiments with slices of their house made bread. In a pinch if you did not like the proteins you could make this. The day I was there several people used the bread to make turkey and ham sandwiches with the hot meats, which works. For the price I would have been happy enough with the salad bar and soup. Nice surprise here though. Update 6/3/12: Had Sunday brunch, cheap for 9.75. Great sweet items and fresh fruit. The rest of the buffet was very meh. For the money its fine but I would not go out of my way to eat it. read more

Weber's offers solid renditions of fine-dining classics: steaks, seafood, big salads and such. This isn't an adventurous menu, but dinner here reminded me of just how good the basics can be. My group started off with a selection of appetizers, mostly seafood, but also a plate of sauteed mushrooms that I thought were the star item among them. The calamari rings were also good as were the shrimp, which were firmer and meatier than the cocktail shrimp I've encountered at a lot of places. I ordered the sea bass for my entree. The menu said it was miso-glazed, and since miso makes me-so sick, I asked for the fish to be prepared without it, which the kitchen gladly did. The bass was tender, buttery, and mild. All I can say against it is that the scallops I ordered as an add on outshone it: perfect in texture without a hint of fishiness. There is a scallop entree on the menu which may be my pick the next time I visit. The plain rice on the side was a bit of a letdown--slipping in a few herbs or some cream sauce wouldn't have added any great complications or expense for the kitchen, and would have made for a near-perfect plate. Most of my companions ordered beef--steak or prime rib--and they seemed happy with their meals. The best may have been saved for last. For dessert I ordered bumpy cake, and it was easily the best version of that I've had. The food service decaf did take a bit away from enjoyment of it, though. (Note to all restaurants aspiring to excellence: the little things...rice, coffee...matter!) Service was exceptional. Special requests were met, recommendations were spot on, and when we needed attention we got it. It's not hard to see how Weber's became, and remains, an Ann Arbor landmark. read more
