Some people might find posting about their pubic hair on a public forum embarrassing but I am not one of them. I have very thick, course, hard to handle hair... down there. I have been getting brazilians for several years. I went to European wax center in the past and was decently happy there. I didn't really have any complaints! I get horrendous ingrown hairs and can't even wear certain types of underwear because of this. Waxing is something that I have to do to stay comfortable and without pain. I physically cannot shave. I saw Ann Marie and she honestly changed my world! I didn't realize how good a brazilian could be. I'm not about 12 hours post-wax and I have zero redness, no little bumps, no itchiness. Stuff I thought was normal the first day after a wax. I should also mention that Ann Marie was so nice and made me feel really comfortable. I can honestly say that this is the best wax I have ever received and Ann Marie has a new client for life. If you are worried about pain or anything, I highly recommend booking with Ann Marie. Her wax is great, her method is as close to pain free as I've ever been (and that's coming from someone with gnarly thick hair), and she just has very good energy about her that makes you feel good. Awesome facial experience. I am no strangers to facials. I have been going at least every 1-3 months since I was 14 (bad acne and a mother that said no to acutane) so I know what constitutes a good one. First good sign was the conversation we had when I called to make an appointment. Ann Marie explained all of the available facial services and was even able to squeeze me in the for next day. Score. Also, since she is a one woman shop she is able to keep a nimble schedule. She texted me 2 hours before letting me know I could arrive 30 minutes early if I wanted to. Her studio is in a perfect location for me, right on 5th next to Wright Brother Brew and Brew. It's one of those warehouse turned office spaces locations with lots of little offices off of a long hallway. Her space is a cozy, amazing smelling, super calming room with great high ceilings. After a good chat about skin, diet, and general health she got to work. The basic facial (for a super affordable $75.00) incorporates customized treatments, extractions (hate it when they make you pay extra), massage, and even a few minutes of reiki. It's heaven. She claims to have no training as a masseuse but she knows exactly what she's doing. Unlike other places I left with my skin hardly red at all and glowing. I saw my friend 20 minutes later and, after remarking at how much my skin was glowing, she made an appointment for the next weekend. Yeah, it's that good. read more

I have put off the torture known as waxing as long as I could. An upcoming trip to the beach meant that I would have to join the ranks of the majority of women out there and get a bikini wax. For a millisecond I thought about a Brazilian wax but then I came to my senses. Hell to the no, I wasn't going to totally go all the way on my first try. I'm more of a dip my toe into the swimming pool type of person rather than jump into the deep end. As I walked up to the location, I thought of everything that could go wrong, so I was a bit freaked out. I was most afraid of the pain and how long it would last. Especially scared out because I was about to spend 5 days on the beach and I didn't want to look like a freak show if something went wrong. But as soon as I met Ann Marie I knew I was in good hands. She had come highly recommended by a friend who has been waxing for years. Ann Marie uses a pink sugar wax, which does not attach to the skin as much as the traditional wax. She was very accommodating to my fears and we talked about the process and what I could expect. She talked to me during the entire process, which really helped me concentrate on things other than waxing my nether regions. I was very happy that it was quick, I was in and out of there in about 20 minutes. Overall the entire experience was way better than I thought it was going to be. I was able to get an appointment within a couple days of calling (which is worth a star alone). I was recommended to Ann Marie by a good friend after things got weird with my last esthetician when she tried to recruit me into a cult/pyramid scheme type thing in the middle of giving me a Brazilian (awkward) and I'm very happy with my experience. I got a Brazilian only and her prices are reasonable and she was very fast! I can't say it wasn't painful but it hurt less than other places because she doesn't use strips but uses a wax that hardens into a gum-like texture. I also liked it how she tried really hard to make conversation with me during the "procedure" to keep my mind occupied. Best Brazilian I've ever had! Remember that scene from Legally Blonde where Elle (Reese Witherspoon) is having a bad day so she needed to run and get her nails done and vent to her nail lady.
