This studio is wonderful. As a grown woman who has been away from dance for over a decade, I have very much enjoyed my return at this studio. I have taken 2 classes with 2 teachers and both were excellent! The teachers are kind and the movements taught show range but are all flexible to skill level. I love that the class starts on time and goes all the way through to the end. This is rare in the yoga classes and other group classes I've taken, even in my daughters ballet classes, class starts 10 mins late and instruction ends 10 minutes before class ends which is basically a scam when you are supposed to be getting a 60 min class. The website is informative and pricing is clearly listed on the website (what a revolutionary concept!). The one down side could be argued that they do not accept credit cards, but lets embrace that as it shows the students who are there are not looking for convenience. Parking is street parking and easy. I look forward to my class every week. read more

I have attended the Cheselka ballet center for many years. It is an excellent choice for maintaining physical fitness without undue rigorous discipline of other studios. It is open for lifetime regimens regardless of physical limitations. I have modified in class for injuries, cancer treatments, peripheral neuropathy, arthritis, hip replacement and now my broken arm. All are welcomed by competent and caring dance instructors. My physical therapy! I always feel good about coming to class. read more

This a great dance studio - professional spot, but you don't have to be classically trained to go. My 16-year-old daughter was looking for a place to learn/build on past dance/gymnastics/cheer experiences and just generally get out during the opening-up phase of the pandemic. Anna is terrific to talk with about class options and made my daughter feel welcome. It's not stuffy in having to have the 'right' clothes, but Anna is serious and professional about her craft and her studio. If you're thinking about coming, do it! read more

Everything I said ten years ago about this studio is still true. Now I have something new to say: they have diversified their class offerings a bit and have added "Bajazz" (Ballet + Jazz) and Nia (No Impact Aerobics). Bajazz is loads of fun, with jazzier choreography, and Nia is a mindful barefoot dance class that is good for ALL bodies, not just dancers. "Regular people" can do Nia and love it. I first discovered this studio when I lived walking distance away. 6 years later, my decision to gather my courage and take that first class has been one of the smarter ones I've made. Not once have I gotten a negative vibe from an instructor or fellow student. Almost everyone here is a current or former professional, and I have had the privilege of learning from many talented, extraordinary people. I needed an exercise routine and a social outlet, and this studio has been the best of both worlds. I have never had a workout at a gym that compares with a class here. My posture is improved, my weight is down, my blood pressure is down, and my self image is up. Not to mention the many compliments I now get on my fabulous legs :) read more

Great studio. Awesome teachers especially Lucy Record who is so talented and teaches my daughter (private lesson) every Saturday. She recently went on pointe and Miss Lucy has helped her through all of that. Ghere is also a super fun kids musical theatre class every spring and fall. Great place overall. This Dance Studio employs extremely impolite and inexperienced instructors. They lack common courtesy and common sense when teaching and speaking with students. There are so many dance studios in the Los Angeles area - this one certainly needs to be avoided. 1 star is too generous... 0 Stars would be more appropriate. read more

After being away from ballet for a number of years, I felt completely at ease taking my first class again after so long. I had never been to this studio before, and had tried two others (one class each) before taking class and deciding to continue at Anna Cheselka. We rented this studio for several days throughout March and April 2019 for a video project. Anna is a wonderful and accommodating person to work with if you're looking for a spot for private training or filming. On the training front, the Marley floor is great. On the filming side, there's tons of natural light and cool decor in the space. This ballet studio is a truly amazing and unique place. They have roughly 15 classes a week for adults ballet, from beginner to advanced classes. I have tried so many studio in the Los Angeles area and beyond, and I have yet to find a better place for adult dancers. There is nothing like taking a dance class with other adults who genuinely want to learn the craft and there is no pressure, because everyone knows we are here to be active, have a good time and just do the best we can. I have taken from every teacher who is currently at the studio, and they are all talented dancers, supportive teachers and offer different styles of teaching for every taste. I recommend taking each teacher at least once, you'll find someone who speaks to the way you want to learn. I have been a student here for over five years and if you stop by, you'll see Anna Cheselka's has converted a lot of 'lifers.' read more

I can't say enough good things about this studio. I started taking class here about 8 months ago (based on the great reviews here) and I just LOVE it. I used to dance in NY, and I have taken classes at so very many places out here. I have yet to find a ballet studio that even compares. I have taken with four of the instructors and every single one is kind, professional and challenging. The atmosphere of the classes is also extremely friendly, supportive, and fun. I have been taking class from this studio since the 70's!! It's my "home away from home." Over the years I have studied with many different teachers at this school, all have been professional in their approach yet warm, welcoming, and supportive. There are many different ability levels and the class schedule offers a variety of times including evenings and weekends. I especially enjoy that this studio offers a non-competitive atmosphere--although there are often former and current professional dancers in attendance--so that I can challenge myself without pressure to overwork and injure myself.
