I drive over an hour each way to see her and it's been so worth it. I originally went to see Marisa for extreme anxiety and ongoing sleep issues, after trying what felt like every modality out there: somatic exercises, journaling, therapy, BIT, meditation, breath-work...you name it. While many of those helped in their own ways, nothing truly moved the needle for me the way hypnoacupuncture with Marisa has. From my very first session, there was an obvious shift. Even the people around me noticed. After that first session, the tension in my shoulders decreased, and the only way I can describe it is that everything (physically & mentally) felt like it had been taken down a notch. Since working with her, my sleep has completely transformed. I went from having an extremely hard time falling asleep and waking up almost every hour, to now pretty much sleeping through the night. If I do wake up, I can fall back asleep easily, and I'm even dreaming a lot which I take as a sign I'm finally getting deep, restful sleep. I've seen such drastic improvements that I genuinely feel like I have a new baseline. I feel so much more in control of my anxiety now and honestly like a completely different person than I was just a few months ago. It's been truly life changing. I honestly wish I could see her weekly. The closest way I can describe how you feel leaving a session is like you just had a massage; you're so relaxed, grounded, and at ease. Marisa has truly touched my life. She is genuinely an angel. She listens, she cares deeply, and she is incredibly dedicated to her clients. If she doesn't have an answer right away, she always follows up, whether by email or the next time you see her, which says so much about the level of thought and attention she gives. I don't feel comfortable around many people, but there's something about her energy that is so light and reassuring. She creates such a safe, welcoming environment, and it makes all the difference. I still can not believe what a gift I received with this wonderful treatment. I experienced a perfect acceptance of myself and under this touch I dive into deep relaxation. A combination of wavy and unbelievably gentle movements that are in harmony with the breathing rhythm and the simultaneous strokes of warm oil create feelings of security and bliss. The Lomi experience is not of this world. Edward is really blessed with incredible sensitivity. Edward's massage grabs the soul particularly deeply and equally, along with the body and the mind, paving the way to move forward with a renewed sense of self. Movements from the body axis towards the shoulder girdle create a liberating release of the deep muscles. Accordingly, the massage is designed to relieve tension, to release blockages and reactors balance. It did all that. 3 days after the Lomi, I am still floating like waves on the water. AT the center of Edward's Lomi Lomi is the quality of the touch. His techniques and ability to move are very special. The art of his touch requires (and gives) aloha, in the sense of caring, respect, intention, support and compassion. He is so incredibly professional and present. It is something I don't enough of in therapists. The aim of the massage is to mediate Aloha and to create space for self-healing. Edward gave me Aloha during the massage and made room for my own healing.I'm so thankful for that. Once I saw this, I immediately canceled the appointment as I do not agree with being charged in full a week before an appointment. The website said I had to contact the owner for a refund, which I did, and he said it would take a day or two. I never saw a refund and texted him again with no answer. I finally had to contact AMEX to dispute the charge, which is ongoing. So buyer beware!!
