I was hesitant to come here after reading the reviews. But, I decided to give it a try anyway. Note to self - trust yelp. I walked in right after they opened. A gentleman greeted me after a minute or so and started running the water for my pedicure. I never really liked having male technicians because they tend to be too rough on my nails. Unfortunately, he was the only one there. Color selection is very scarce and they do not carry the typical brands. They had a few OPI colors, but did not have any other "big name" brands. I settled on an OPI color, but was very disappointed in the selection. The pedicure started out okay, but quickly went downhill. My toenails are in no way thickened, so I was shocked when he starting using a dremel on them. The dremel hurt because my nails are thin. He also was hitting my skin with the dremel, causing two of my toes to start bleeding. I asked him to stop using the dremel. He redeemed himself slightly by providing a great foot massage. But, it quickly went down hill when it was time to paint my nails. After he was finished, there was nail polish on my skin for multiple toes. I could have done a better job myself. Unfortunately, things didn't get much better for my nails. The paint job was so bad that my husband said, "I thought you were getting a manicure and pedicure? It looks like you painted them yourself" Needless to say, I will not be returning. I would not recommend this nail salon to anyone. read more

I went a week ago and already two of my toes have completely lost the polish and the gel on my hands has completely peeled off one finger and is peeling at the base of all the others. My manicurist was mediocre so I assumed it was her work or maybe the polish I selected, but the person I went also has peeled gels and no polish on her toes. DO NOT GO HERE. Never in my entire life have I had my nails so mangled before they even started doing them. I told him I wanted to remove the acrylics I had before but he insisted he could do a refill. He then proceeded to go at it on my nails with the electric file and then used it to cut it down to my real nail. I had to leave and go have another salon fix these disgusting stubs. read more

I used to go to the salon for pedicures last year until my lady went on vacation and I had to find a new place that day and just never returned. So I recently went back a few times for gel manicures and it seems like the last two times I've gone in, I was unless you have an appt you're given to the guy who I will say is horrible. My one year old nephew can do a better pain job then he can and it always seems like I'm being rushed. Needless to say, I won't be returning it's been a week and my nails look like crap $40 waisted, yes I waited to say something because I needed them done but everyday that has passed I just get madder and madder thinking about my wasted time and money going to that place! Today was my first trip to Annapolis Nails & Spa. It came highly recommended by a friend who frequents here often, with Kim as her technician. I am sure Kim is great; however, she was totally booked upon my walk in at 2:50 p.m. I definitely should have called ahead if I wanted her that badly, but I was open to whomever, as I trusted my friend's recommendation. After waiting for a half an hour, I was seated in a chair towards the back of the salon. I waited for about another 2-3 minutes for my technician, Eric, to come back in from his smoke break and begin my acrylic fill with regular polish. I had to wait another 2-3 minutes as he got himself situated, and grabbed a piece of gum out of his backpack to cover his smoky breath. Finally, around 3:30 p.m. my appointment began. He quickly assessed my nails, made little conversation, and began. I told him, without prompt, that I would like them short and an in between round and square edges. He nodded and continued on. I swear I could smell my skin burning as he quickly skimmed over my nails with the electric file machine (I don't know the name), and slopped on the fill. Literally, what should be a meticulous half an hour process of filing, filling, and smoothing took him about 15 minutes. I swear the man burned my skin as he zipped through, pedal to the medal, smoothing the edges of my nails. By 3:45 p.m. I was washing my hands and preparing for polish. I then returned to the table and prepared to pay before my nails were painted. Mind you, when I called ahead for the price I was quoted $18 for an acrylic fill and regular polish. To my surprise, he swiped my card and came back with a bill that said $21. Apparently it cost an extra $3 for a cut down, when all I said was I like them short. The man didn't get out a pair of clippers or anything extra, he simply ran his little filing tool over the tops of my nails and made them a tad shorter. I'm a teacher, it's not like I have fang nails that take time to cut down. So the polish begins... I got a very nice periwinkle blue. Eric blazed through on the first coat and didn't even go near the edges. I made a comment to this, and he stated that he would do that on the second coat. Well the second coat was equally a disaster... it was like a child finger painting. He couldn't stay on the nail for the life of him, and he didn't even do the tops/edges. I asked him if he could please do a third coat to ensure the full coverage of the nails, and that was just not a good idea; more paint on skin than my nails. He then took the next five minutes to take all the extra nail polish off of my skin with his little remover brush (this was actually the only task he took his time on). By 4:05 p.m. I was sitting under the dryer waiting for my nails to dry from what might possibly be the worst experience I've ever paid for nail wise. Now, here I sit just 6 hours later writing this review and two nails have already chipped. I have done nothing extra-strenuous since then that should cause this chipping on the day of my manicure. Needless to say, I'll be going back to Elite Nails Spa just across the road, and I suggest you do, too. read more

I've came here before for a fill in with gel polish and today a pedicure with gel polish. Anne is supposedly the best one here for nails. I have long stiletto nails. She gave me a fill in and 2 days later my nail broke. I came to her to fix it and she put a fake nail on top of my halfway broken nail! Any good nail tech knows that's not how you fix a broken nail. Today, Kim is doing my pedicure. She said a regular pedicure is $25..which is normal. But because I want gel, it's an additional $20! $20 for gel? She also said if I wanted a polish change with gel, it's $20. Absolutely ridiculous. Safe to say I won't be returning. read more

You MUST see Pauline!! I Walked in to this nail salon randomly just looking for a gel manicure and pedicure. I have been to multiple salons looking for one that I could become a repeat customer with and this has become my salon. Pauline does an EXCELLENT gel manicure- no chipping, no peeling, perfect filing and shaping! I ALWAYS get compliments on how great my nails look so I go back just about every 2 weeks. I work a lot with my hands and my manicure stays beautiful for the full 2 weeks. I also love the way Pauline does my eyebrows- I have also been given so many compliments on my eyebrows as well. I can't commend the staff at Annapolis Nails and Spa more. The group is a testament to courtesy and professionalism. As an anniversary present, I treated my girlfriend to a complete package to make her -- as she calls it -- "purty". She went in on a Saturday morning and she was instantly greeted in a friendly manner and put right at home. For her deluxe pedicure, at an all-too reasonable price of $60, she was given the royal treatment. The nail techs did a highly professional job and made my girlfriend look smashing. My girlfriend says the techs put in a quality hour, creating a masterpiece out of her feet. I went in last Friday for a Mani/Pedi before a trip to NYC. At dinner that night the polish just started popping off. By Sunday, there was nothing left. I went in upon my return today, with the large pieces of polish to show them what happened. I was told " That is what happens to regular polish" When I asked for a manager, I was told they would pass the message along. When I said that I would post my experience, they just said OH WELL! I went here based on a recommendation from a friend, and it's overrated. I got a full set of nails. The nail tech I had refused to admit that the ombre I requested was too much for her to handle which resulted in my nails looking horrible. Less than a week later one of the nails came off. I was looking for a place to take my mother and bridesmaids the day before my wedding for get main and pedis and this was a great experience! We went in first thing on a Friday morning and they were already for us (we made an appointment). We had 7 chairs right next to each other and everyone was so friendly. Service was quick but thorough and we were all pleased! And at the end they sent me off with a goody bag including the nail color in case I needed any touch ups before the wedding day. CAUTION. They have the prices for the services posted on the wall as you walk in, front and center. I pointed to the sign and picked the services that I wanted. I repeated it to make sure that they understood what I wanted. After the service was over they told me that that sign was no longer valid and the prices have gone up approximately $10 per service. I had to argue with them and tell them that what they were doing was not legal. The receptionist had to request someone else to come to help me and it was a big problem. I felt horrible that I had to argue about it. They were a bit aggressive with me. Finally they agreed to "accommodate me" and charge the prices posted. (Accommodate ME??? )It ruined my whole experience. I am trying to file a complaint with the county about their bait and switch and dishonesty. I asked them why the sign was hanging up if the prices were no longer valid. They gave me some excuse about well that's the manager that has to take it down. Scam artists. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I came in about 3 weeks ago (for the first AND LAST TIME) to get a full set of gel acrylics done (late to get a yelp account JUST to write this review)... I arrived around 1 pm and was told it would be a 10 min wait, even though I saw about 2 nail technicians laying around on their phones. After 20 min of waiting, I ask "how much longer" and they seemed to have forgotten, and sat me right away at a nail chair. An older lady started to do my nails, and asked if I was sure I wanted to do acrylics. I questioned her, and she told me it wasn't a good idea because my nails were too short and too stubby for them to last. I responded that I have been getting acrylics for 2 plus years... never a problem. She continued on for 10 minutes about how short my nails were, to the point where I asked to to please stop talking about my nails. She then seemed very grumpy and became very aggressive while filing my nails, I couldn't even count the number of times I said "ow". She started putting on the fake nails, and 2 of them were severely uneven. I called her out on it and she rolled her eyes, and ignored the issue and continued to put on more. She then started cutting my nails and made them so much shorter than what I asked for. I called her out AGAIN, and she started rolling her eyes and making comments. She was being noticeably rude that the manager came over and stepped in, and took over my nails. They look ok after I left, but 3 nails popped off just a day after getting them done.
