We ordered ahead 3 medium pizzas. A meat lovers, a cheese and a pepperoni. This was SO GOOD and the husband and I are huge pizza connoisseurs . I'm pretty sure my baby is made of 95% pizza lol. The service was fast and friendly. When we got there we loved how it looked like a mom and pop place. They had the football game going so we didn't miss out on our game! Great local spot. Underrated 100%. So much so that I had never even ordered from here until recently despite it being open for years. Get the Italian Salad, the dressing is really good and has all the ingredients from most other places. Pizza is legit 9/10. I usually just get cheese but it's all good. Have driven by here for many many years. Never stopped in. We usually go to Pinos or Giuseppis or Dominoes. Or maybe Olympic for pizza. All in the same area if not on same street. Tonight we decided to step out of our comfort zone and try Anna's. We got a large pizza and their Thursday night special, meat lasagna. Bye bye everybody else!! You just lost our business. Anna's food was better than the other 3 places, and very reasonable prices. Especially compared to Pinos. Delicious! And their regular crust stayed crispy! 1st time going to Anna's, 1st impression?...meh. Ordered thin crust pizza, and was...disappointed. The crust was tasteless, which is a big issue for me all by itself. Next (and I can't believe I'm saying this), maybe there was too much cheese? I know! Who knew you could have too much cheese?! - however, I said "maybe" and that's because it might be because of the order they put the toppings and not the volume of cheese. They put the sauce, then individual toppings, and cheese last. Whether it was too much cheese or the fact that it was put on last, this didn't work for me. Great alternative to Sams on Charles! We called Sam's and they were very rude to my disabled husband. He's had strokes and they were rude saying they couldn't understand him and they were really snotty. Calling Anna's was like a breath of fresh air! In my opinion, the pizza is very bland. The crust tastes like a Tombstone pizza, just thicker and undercooked. The cheese is possibly some bagged low-moisture mozzerella, but more likely it's an imitation cheese product. The sauce is ok, but not enough to save this boring pie. Okay, first thing you gotta know is that I work here, so I'm a little biased. But as someone who is not only a big, big fan of Italian food but has also dedicated almost 20 years to cooking, serving and delivering it, I'm a pretty good judge of good Italian food. Anna's serves up an excellent variety of tasty take-out and delivery for some very reasonable prices. The hallmark pizza is a traditional New York style thin crust (thick and stuffed are avaiable upon request) cooked in an old school Blodgett oven - simply the best way to cook a pizza. The sausage is particularly tasty. The Italian beef sandwiches are absolutely delicious, served on one of the best tasting rolls around. My wife and I routinely order the chef salad, topped with pepperoni, black and green olives, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and fresh ground mozarella cheese. The salad is so flavorful that we usually don't use any dressing! And this from somebody who normally covers his salad in dressing. And there is so much more. Meatball subs, lasagna, spaghetti, chicken, canolli... the list goes on and on. And I should mention that Anna's does everything fresh. The dough is made daily, the bread comes from a local bakery, even the cheese is ground right at the store! The service is quick and friendly, and, yes, there really is an Anna and she's alway there, ready to help you with a smile! Anna's does take-out and delivery (there is no dine-in) and is closed on Mondays. Simply a must try! Two big thumbs up! read more
