Ordered some takeout after getting to my hotel. I was seeking a balance of healthy but also food that could hug me on the inside. FOUND IT! I grabbed a Mexican rice and black bean burrito with pico and lettuce inside. First bite, I had to step back and look at it. It was so flavorful. The chips were delicious too. I could eat those ball day. I also grabbed a lemonade and this is the homemade lemonade I have missed. Eating here was like having the comfort of home in a bite. To me, just about every Anna's is perfect. Decor is stated yet not over the top. The "Subway" style ordering as you go down the line is standard at all locations, and the horchata flows like wine. What more could you ever ask for? This suburban location is no different, one of the few that exists even though they need a lot more on the North Shore. I think my only issue here is that the line has gotten long at times at lunch with not enough workers taking orders (probably pandemic hiring related so you can't hold it against them). I switch back and forth between giant burritos and quesadillas. Both are overflowing with ingredients but not to the point where you lose bits because they don't stay in place. My go-to meat used to be beef tongue but that seems to have been removed from all locations, again probably pandemic related. Remember sour cream and guac are extra, but even if you get just about everything else included, it will be plenty to fill your belly. My ingredients almost always consist of cheese, pinto beans, rice, hot sauce and pickled onions (a great treat most skip over!). I know I mentioned horchata early on, so that can't be overlooked. Just get the dang drink already! I believe they make theirs out of almonds. The machines mixing it up remind me of 90's mall nostaligia, constantly flowing and becoming delicious each second as you stare in amazement at the white flowing liquid. I've heard rumors you can walk out of the store with a gallon of it but right now, that's just a silly rumor your Aunt spread on Facebook. Parking is ample in a lot across the street with meters. Pro tip, look down the street where the church and school are, right beyond that is free parking and almost always has a spot. The walk from there is like 2-3 minutes, which you will need after downing these 1k+ caloric monsters. read more

Let me throw this out there right away- I am an Anna's fan! I lived near the Porter and Davis square location for three years and this place has a super soft spot in my burrito loving heart. We were in town for an event and I havent had Anna's in awhile so e made it happen. This was my first time at this location. I found it very confusing how this location has the lines set up. other people were confused as well. Staff did not navigate people they just kept making those delicious bites of food. People just figure it out here I guess. Went through the line and the cashier struggled with entering our family order because my husbands food wasn't done and just kinda walked away instead of communicating with her co-worker. She also wasn't too interested in answering my questions about the soda flavors which I couldn't read because of distance. My 3 stars is not based on the food, it was purely design and customer service. There burrito- the cheese! Nobody does it better. Plus Chipotle doesn't melt their cheese! Their quesadilla- it comes out greasy but super pliable and gooey. Love it! Never disappointed with the food. Tip: I always go chicken and ask them to cut the chicken up into smaller bites. read more

Really sad. I grew up eating Anna's and loved it. This location opened up several years ago closer to home, and it's just gets consistently worse and worse. Today the service was abysmal. They have two serving counters so I went to the one with a shorter line. When it was my turn next, they ignored me for several minutes before finally redirected me to the other line. Not 30 seconds after sending me to the back of the other line (mind you, this line was now about 10 people long and the guy who had walked in right after me was currently being served), they decide to open the line they had just kicked me out of. But they decided to start with the guy at the front of the long line (e.g. the guy after the guy who had walked in after me)! So I'm at the end of a 10 person line when I was the first person in there, was ignored, and got a soggy ass burrito. Words can't express my disappointment. While delicious healthy offerings abound here good luck getting through the line with any sort of efficiency. Popped in a full hour prior to close and stood in line for 10 minutes while watching one person recount a register drawer and another cleaning and ignoring customers. A third person built burritos, the fourth sat idle until the person was through the line and ready to be rung up. No attempts were made by to help cut down the line and get people through it any faster. It was like watching paint dry. 1.5 customers were helped in 10 minutes. Just ridiculous. Went home and ordered delivery from another restaurant. 1 star for service. Third star is for the food quality- would rate this place far higher if they got it together. In short, don't bother unless you have *plenty* of time. read more

The space looks fine, the service isn't terrible, but also doesn't really exist in that this place is run like it fast food. The real problem is the food. I have eaten here 3 times now, and I've regretted it every single time. The food is awful. There is no flavor in anything they serve. They make Chipotle seeming like a gourmet chef experience. Worst place ever! The Newton restaurant. Went to pick up an order. They have a huge sign where pick-up orders are supposed to be placed. They don't use it! This is the second time I've been back in like 4 months because the first experience was so horrible! Last time, I was made to wait while the workers chatted and laughed about me and took their sweet time taking all In-person orders ahead of me. Then, they finally gave me the order. Now today, months later. The same thing happened again. I was told to go wait in line as I approached the table with the huge sign that says :"Pick up orders here". So I asked to speak to the manager. After waiting in line for 10 minutes, I figured I'd let him know he needs to fix this. He had no explanation but told me not to worry because I never have to go to his restaurant again because he's going to block me! Really? That's how you handle poor management of your restaurant? I don't want to go back EVER again! But for the sake of all the other delivery/ pick-up people, place the pick up orders under the damn sign and stop wasting their time or take the sign down! read more

It's sad because this place used to be really really good, but they've gone severely downhill. Of the last five times I've ordered they've gotten my order right once. It's not a complicated order, either. And the quality has decreased significantly. When I order the carnitas it's just a bunch of fat and hardly any meat. The guac is brown half the time and I found lots of avocado skin in it. It's not worth coming back any more. I'll miss the old Anna's. read more

Soooo Stingy!!! Customer service is a joke! Did online pickup and they were soo rude during pick up. I ordered one Mexican plate and a bunch of sides making $28 worth of food. Asked for one more utensils instead of the one and they said it's only one entree and would not give it. Completely clueless staff. Ordered a side of pico de gallo for $2.25 and got a joke of a serving. ONE WHOLE TABLESPOON! It comes in a condiment container and the staff lied and said it was 4 oz! So I made sure I measured it! Less than 3oz WITH the container. The Mexican plate also was wrong, there is only so many options and came with the wrong beans. Food is yummy but the headache of these clueless stingy lying workers is not worth going. We love Anna's taqueria everywhere else but will not come back to joke of a place. read more

Sucks they aren't nicer because the food is pretty good. There are few places that have consistently been so rude to every member of my family. We live around the corner, so it's really convenient. We have given them so many opportunities, different seasons, different staff, different times of the day (rush, no line) - it doesn't seem to matter. They have very little consideration for your time, and will ignore you for a long time to prep or clean an area, and then rush you and hate if you have more than one item to order when it's your turn. Always nice at check-out, but the order counter is so rude!! We are so nice, I don't get it. I wish someone would help them understand it's really uncomfortable to order and it's such a shame. read more

This place just does not care about orders being correct! We ordered through doordash and order arrived quickly to work. It was an order for 3 people. One of the items ordered was a steak quesadilla with cheese and lettuce... it arrived with pinto beans, rice and pico! How hard is it to make just a steak, cheese and lettuce quesadilla?? I ordered a super burrito for myself with steak, salsa, rice and sour cream... added extra cheese but I honestly don't even think that was in the burrito because I couldn't taste any cheese or see it. Unfortunate because there is an extra charge for the extra cheese and the many other items you can add it. Burrito bowl was fine. Hallelujah! An Anna's that's a little bit closer to me! Had a craving for burrito and this location - Hot and New - popped up and I was in heaven! Thank you Yelp!! Located right near route 9 is their newest location that opened a month and a half ago. Large restaurant with two burrito lines. Both sides have drink machines and there is plenty of seating. Same deal as the other Anna's... Order at the tortilla warmer/cheese melter machine, pick your insides and pay in the back. Be prepared with your order and move the line along! Very clean and spacious and this location accepts credit cards! My burrito was good but seemed a little dry? I think they may still be working out the kinks but I'll definitely be back soon! Paid street parking but seemed like limited spots available. read more

Placed an order for delivery this evening, and we were disappointed. We got a steak taco, a cheese quesadilla, and a bowl. First off, it was late, and everything was cold. On top of that, we were missing parts. I requested sour cream on the quesadilla, and they put a blob in the middle and didn't spread it out. The taco was just a mess wrapped in tinfoil. For the bowl, we requested quac and tortillas, and we received neither. The cheese in both the bowl and the quesadilla wasn't even melted. We were really looking forward to a good meal.
