    Chips with guacamole...

I was a regular customer here until today. I ordered chips with guacamole as the picture shows, picked up my order and went to work. I had to return back to the restaurant to ask for the guacamole as it was not in my order. At the counter, the lady said its not included and refused to give me a side of guacamole. They stated the price is only for the chips, I showed them my order details and the lady called the store owner over the phone to explain the situation. The owner told me she will reach out to DoorDash to correct this "mistake" but if I wanted guacamole I would have to purchase it separately because she can't afford to sell chips and guacamole for the price THEY had on DoorDash. I let her know I will be requesting a refund...and no longer returning to the restaurant. The owner was not fazed at all.

We come here almost every Friday for what we call "Taco Friday". Our son goes to pre k nearby and on Fridays we take him to Henry Bear and then we eat here. Thankfully we do not go to Henry Bear as often (our back account is thankful) but he is still excited for coming to Boca Grande. Even though he just drinks the lemon water and never partakes in the delicious food. Anyway this is my favorite taqueria. I am a soft chicken taco holic and they seriously make the best soft tacos. The shells , unlike their competitors, never fall apart. Their meat is more flavorful and not so chewy. I just want all the tacos in my belly. My husband gets the chicken burrito and also prefers theirs to competitors. They have a tiny seating area so we've been lucky to always have seating. Their bathrooms are clean and convenient especially for a young kid in tow. They are a coke place ....huzzah. They do serve beer but never had any. Service and cooks are always friendly and they have memorized my order. Xox love your tacos for mi boca grande !

I love Boca Grande going into Boca Grande. Their tamales are delicious. Would highly recommend!!

Talk about protein options!!! This place has almost a dozen options (or was it more than?) for your protein! I only got to try the chorizo, but it was very flavorful and now I'm excited to give their beef and chicken a try. Okay, back tracking a bit, the place is very clean, quaint, and friendly. They have a limited number of chairs so they always ask if it's for there or to go. This place is about build-your-own meal and everything looked extremely surprisingly fresh. I got a burrito bowl which already came in a to go box so it didn't matter to me, but most of the other options will be served on their actual plates. A burrito bowl with sour cream add on and tomatoes ended up being $10 and for the portion size, I can get two lunches out of it so yes, this place is a good value! I can imagine this place becoming more popular so y'all better get here before the lines begin to form! I was shy asking for more toppings, but maybe next time I'll be more adventurous. Very pleasant first experience and I'm looking forward to this place's growth!

A burrito bowl that unfortunately lacked flavor.

I'll start with the good. Clean, staff is friendly, and lots of options. With that being said I found that the food lacked flavor. Nothing was seasoned. I LOVE Mexican food and this did not do it for me or to other people I spoke with. We all said the same thing with our very different orders. No flavor. That's with salt and pepper added and hot sauce as well. The beans are definitely not seasoned nor are the meats. Not even the rice. There are other options in Brookline which I will continue to visit but unfortunately I'll most likely won't return here.

I'm not sure why this place has such mediocre reviews, I think this place is some of the better Mexican food in Boston. They deliver all the out to south Boston, which is probably why it takes so long to arrive, but none the less, I still think the food is really great! There's not a lot competition for great mexican in Boston, but I actually find Boca a lot better than the local Taqueria's here in Southie on the seaport. I ordered from Boca on Wed and I got the Chicken Ranchero and quesadilla, the quesadilla was good but the Ranchero was awesome! 4/5 stars, I enjoyed this food!

They have lots of good beverage options- my bf Francisco P. & I had horchatas and our dinner companion had a papaya shake. On request, they can prepare the shake with water instead of milk. You can see the female chef in the kitchen preparing the food lovingly by hand. I tried the bean and cheese pupusas, which were very good. Our companion also tried the chicken pupusas, which she said were also very good. We thought they tasted freshly made, to order. I love that the pupusas had the bits of crunchy cheese that form when some cheese leaks out the side. I was also glad to have the red sauce and pickled cabbage for putting on top. Maybe next time I'd order more of that because I love the pickled cabbage, or curtido. My bf had a Salvadoran combo plate- that had a pupusa, a Salvadoran tamale, and a Salvadoran enchilada (which closely resembles a Mexican tostada). I had a taste of the tamale, which had chicken, & which I thought was really flavorful, and different in consistency than a Mexican tamale- softer.

We started with margaritas which were just so-so. My spicy marg was not spicy and generally we found them to be a little on the sweet side. Fine, but to me it was more like drinking some nice juice. We ordered the nachos to share (you must get these) and a variety of entrees. Food came out so quickly! There was also SO MUCH. I made another two full meals out of leftover nachos and fajitas and could have stretched to a third. It's definitely Americanized Mexican but it really hits the spot! I'd probably just stick with water for my drink next time.

There was a DJ playing music with an MC giving away tickets. The hostess greeted us right away and informed us it was a 30 min wait for a table but that we could sit at the bar, We got lucky and sat at the bar, even though it was packed we didn't wait extremely long for our drinks nor our food. The bartenders were super nice. This is a good spot to kill time before a show or if you're just strolling by. I could tell there are some local regulars. Loved the rotating welcome sign at the entrance. My only complaint would be the ladies room could use a makeover. A nice paint job and new doors as one stall had no lock..

We came around 6pm on a weekday and it was completely empty…read more We came here because we saw tik tok videos of how fun, busy, and vibrant this place was but I think we just came at the wrong time and wrong day. The business is sort of in a house? It was small and kind of dark inside. It was definitely an interesting experience,,, The appetizer was reallyyy good, I forgot the name though... The mole however, was not very good. The mole was liquidy and the chicken was dry. Overall, I think this place is more for fun busy nights where you just drink and apps. We started off with two drinks- a frozen mangonada and this passion fruit drink. They were both solid but I liked the mangonada better because the passion fruit cocktail had too much pulp in it! For food, we started off with chips and guac. This guac was some of the best I've had. It was super fresh and you could tell exactly what ingredients they used. We also their pork ribs! The ribs fell off the bone and I loved the warm sauce except it was a tiny bit dry. The sauce was reminiscent of an umami bbq sauce. We decided to try their zucchini dish, as recommended by the manager! I don't love zucchini usually but I liked it. It was roasted with cheese, sauces, and some shrimp. Very creative, Lastly we got the tuna ceviche of the day. I didn't really like this because it was really heavy on the dill. I think it would've been good without it. However the presentation was gorgeous and it came with plantains. Overall the vibes are superb here for a date, girls night, or whatever!!
