This practice is outstanding. The waiting area is large and comfy seats. There are also two single bathrooms which is nice. The check in process is via an iPad and easy to navigate instead of filling out paperwork with pen and paper. Dr Mitchell examined me for moles and cut off a skin tag near my eye. I was nervous when he told me he would inject lidocaine near my eye socket but he assured me it would be fine and much better with the lidocaine especially if the removed skin tag bled and I needed it cauterized. He quickly injected, cut it off and cauterized it with minimal to no pain. He also removed a mole on my back to be tested and that was also quick and painless after lidocaine. He also answered questions and did a thorough exam and definitely cares about patients skin related concerns. Highly recommend this practice. read more

I had an appointment with Dr. Mitchell to remove an excess and during my initial appointment I expressed my concern with scarring. He assured me the scarring would be minimal but that I could also come back if I was not pleased and he could administer some sort of shot that would flatten the scar. The day of my procedure, everything went well. I was scheduled for a follow up to remove my stitches 14 days after the procedure which would definitely result in "track mark" scarring from the stitches. I called to reschedule the appointment to an earlier day to minimize scarring and the nurse told me she would look into it and call me back. She left me a voicemail stating that because Dr. Mitchell was out that day, they would not be able to reschedule me but that if I wanted to, I could remove the stitches out myself that day and that I could call back and they would walk me through it Who on Earth would remove their own stitches?! That's insane, even if you are walking me through it. Nonetheless, I went to my primary doctor who agreed the stitches could be removed in 10 days not 14, he scheduled an appointment for me on the 10th day and when my primary doctor called Anne Arundel Dermatology, they wouldn't give him a straight answer as to whether it was alright to remove them or not. But they were willing to walk me through it? My foremost concern was the scarring. This was a cosmetic procedure. Dr. Mitchell did NOT listen to my concerns. Sure he could administer a cortisone (sp?) shot AFTER another visit, more co-pays, more money in his pocket. And then to offer to guide me in removing my own stitches over the phone?? I was referred to this medical practice by my primary care physician. Upon my visit to the Hagerstown location, in order to discern my issues regarding various abnormalities with aging, I was not seen by a physician of Dermatology but a Physician's Assistance. I'm not pleased in trusting the opinions of a PA regarding my skin's health and relying on their judgement concerning skin concerns and prognosis - regardless of their educational merit. In the future, I'll seek dermatological advice from another practice. In addition, I felt I was rushed through the procedure. read more

Called immediately to resolve the appointment time... on hold for over 45 minutes... she has the Dr's name wrong and the time was 1:00 not 2:45!!! Now i've been pushed back to September... 2 more months of waiting ... SMH!!! Terrible way to run a business... read more

I would not even give this place a 1 star review but I had to so I could post this review. My appt was at 11:30 and at 12 I asked if they were running behind. The receptionist checked for me at 12:05 and said it would be another 20 mins! I left! If I was an hour late for that appt they wouldn't have seen me and probably would charge me. Saw Meagan Mitchell. My 1st time ever there. Luckily was 30 min early for appt. Recept gave me 4 forms, dbl sided to complete. Took me the 30 min & did not have all infor needed. Why don't they send the forms out to you when you make the appt, certainly have plenty of time b4,,abt 3 wks to complete? Went for full body exam. Well, 3/4 of body examined. Did not ck under chin, throat, underside of upper arms, armpits, ard ears, butt area, groin, inside upper legs, feet, under & around breasts & same area covered by bra on my back. Was terrible. Luckily I pointed out 4 small growths & she froze those, but I forgot abt one on my throat & since she never ckd there, I don't know if one growth there shld be frozen. There is more but enough. Acted in a terrible hurry, like had ie....only 15 min & had to stick to that. My previous Dermatologist retired unfortunately. HE DID AN EXAM!! Took abt 30+ min. He had you completely undress, used a sheet to cover , I laid on exam tbl & he used a light & big magnifying glass. Started with scalp down to toes, not missing an inch, then flipped over & examined the other side.. I always felt VERY SATISFIED with the exam. He actually cared abt his work. This exam I just had was abt time & money, very evident. Guess this is the way of the new generation. Just Terrible. read more
