I've seen a number of general practitioners in the last few years due to several insurance changes. I saw Dr. Anne Cole because she was one of the few in my current insurance that was able to see me ASAP. Due to that, I've seen her 2 times and can't say she was my favorite. All in all, I think she's nice. Yes, there's some gruff humor and some unnecessary comments (who cares that I shave? Isn't that the norm?). What bugged me was the lack of follow-up, lack of engagement, and the feeling that I'm being overbilled all the time. - If you get blood test results that aren't ideal, you won't get any follow-up. - If you have any special question, expect to be billed extra but still not get any follow-up or extra care - If something can easily be answered via email, phone, or video (especially during Covid), you'll be pulled in-person instead and billed again. FYI I have Blue Anthem PPO which isn't the best, but should not have garnered all these extra bills for absolutely no benefit or follow-up. I've since moved to another doctor within network and am liking it so far. read more

I met with her when being admitted to the hospital via the Emergency Room for psychiatric reasons and had a very negative experience. Her questions were extremely rushed and condescending. The ER nurse who wheeled in the iPad for me had it on maximum volume and it was hurting my ears to the point where I was having to plug them (and it was STILL blaring), so I went to turn down the volume on the iPad.. to have Dr. Cole yell at me to "not touch medical equipment". No compassion at all for me as a patient, no understanding, and no explanation of anything. Pretty miserable and expensive minute and a half (which is all I got with her). read more

She's been my PCP for ~14 yrs. Other reviewers are spot on about front office staff. I'm hoping that her recent move (Fall 2011) to new office solves the problems... front office staff for me has always been polite but relatively disorganized (billing problems etc.) Pluses: she's a very strong and thorough traditional internist. Very western and analytic in her approach to issues. I've been through two emergency trips to the ER for weird allergic reactions, a couple of lumpy scares, and some odd test results with her. Her general MO is to throw the book at it -- she tests EVERY possible cause, works with excellent specialists, etc. to try to get to the root cause of things. Once she has an idea she tends to prescribe and recommend retesting. She's very good about following up with you, too. She's been great for me as a traditional western doc. That said, if your tests are in spec but you still feel off, you may have a harder time getting to the bottom of the issue... thus are the limits of western medicine. I use integrative docs, acupuncture, chiropractic etc to feel better when things go a little tweaky and she gives the impression that she's not a fan. I'm a pretty informed consumer of healthcare (I've seen what happens when you aren't) and I'm aggressively in charge of my health -- I ask lots of questions and I want to know exactly what's going on. Personality-wise we're a good fit and we have good discussions about what might be going on. I value her encyclopedic knowledge and I like having her as my go-to PCP resource. read more

You'll need to have your own MD if you see Dr. Cole. You'll see she has this weird humor but only because she is insecure about her own weight and then will make sure to tell you about yours. She's just over her job and not good at it either. So, when my first visit I gave her my symptoms but again, I am not the doctor - she is - and asked me what would she should do about it. Huh? She then told me to get rid of my pain was to leave my living situation. Huh? Made another appointment because I had a sinus issue - she got mad. Huh? Her one nurse is really nice, that is only positive. Don't see this Dr. Cole. She won't help you, she'll make you feel stupid and needs a good dose of humble pie. read more

Dr Cole is great. I thinkI have been seeing her for over 12 years. She and Tanna respond quickly and I am usually able to get an appointment within a day. She's been good about explaining test results with me. I am glad to have her as my doctor. read more

I was very encouraged by the other comments made about Dr. Cole on here...until I called to make an appointment. No matter what kind of facility you have, the Front Desk/Receptionist is one of your most important assets! When I called a few moments ago to get checked out for the car accident I was in yesterday, the woman who answered insisted that I was calling about workers comp and said Dr. Cole would not see me. I WAS NOT CALLING FOR WORKERS COMP!!!!! I had to tell her this about 4 times!! I am also new to the area, and therefore new to looking for a primary care doctor. This was her time to shine! I had a few questions that I'm sure were stupid, but the point of customer service is to make people WANT to come back! After I asked about making an appointment, the first thing she said was, "I can't get you in until Thursday or Friday of next week", and when I asked for something sooner, she offered Monday at 9 am. Umm..WTF? The woman was obviously impatient and frustrated with my questions, and kept bringing up the workers comp crap that was confusing because not once did I ever mention that this was work-related..and it's NOT. Anyway, since I have never been to Dr. Cole's office, I have no one to blame except her, which is a bummer because she seemed nice from all of these reviews. read more

I've been with Dr Cole for probably 8 years now. I've read the comments about the staff below, but keep in mind the date. I, too, had problems with her staff in the past ("disorganized" was a term I read, and that's about as polite as I can get). However, since her move, they've been as right as rain. I realize that her bedside manner may not appeal to all. I'm a guy who appreciates a doctor who is honest and forthright, and, man, is she ever. She's good with references (and most of them, in my experience, are right on). If I ever had a doubt about a diagnosis, if she weighs in, I trust her opinion. read more

A friend of mine loves her. I liked her except I hated her office staff - rude and unwelcoming. When I first met her I liked her - she reminds me of people from my father's home town. Gruff humor but real - good with middle aged women - other demographics maybe hit or miss. She sat right across from me and asked me what I needed and listened. I had a discussion with her - and told her what I wanted - she gave me her opinion and mostly I got what I wanted. So I got what I needed though I don't love her - I like her. Unfortunately you have to spend 1/2 your time with the office staff... yuck. Now the last review I had done on her was removed - that is not what I expect of yelp if that is the case. This will be a test if this review stays up. It will keep my faith in yelp. read more

I really hate going to the doctor and avoid them as much as possible but I love Dr. Cole and Atana at the front desk who keeps everything organized over there. They are both very friendly and easy to talk to. I always appreciate them being able to squeeze me in last minute because as I mentioned above, I hate going to the doctor and hold out as long as possible. But I don't ever have that sense of dread I used to have when needing medical care. I hope Dr. Cole never retires and I told her this today. Hopefully she won't anytime soon :) read more

Dr. Cole has been my Primary Care Physician for more than twenty years. Based on a lifetime of contacts with many other medical doctors (mostly while dealing with serious health issues of family members) and having close relatives in the healthcare field, I can say that Dr. Cole is an outstanding physician. I value her honesty and judgment. Dr. Cole is excellent in communicating with her patients using a very straightforward direct approach. I always felt that she took my comments, observations and requests seriously. Also, she is very reliable in following up after tests, etc. In case of an unexpected need, she responds promptly even outside of office hours. Through her actions, she shows a genuine concern for her patients' well-being. I can recommend her very highly. read more

I escorted my elderly (but still very sharp) Mother-in-law to her appointment with Dr. Cole to discuss some ongoing concerns. Dr. Cole was friendly to me (I've been completely ignored when taking my own mother to her doctor), a good listener, answered all our questions and took her time to explain where needed. I was with Dr. Lee who went to Kaiser. I was completely stressed about finding a doctor who can understand the stress I was going through and give me a no-nonsense "here's what you can do, and here's what I can do". After a few failed attempt, I decided to call Dr Cole who used to share office with Dr. Lee, and was so happy to find the very nice nurse who used to work for Dr. Lee. That was the first good sign. Not knowing me at all, Dr. Cole very quickly figured out what I needed and cut through the chase to what my options are. She shared an experience of someone she knew as a different perspective when I told her I am ready to submit resignation as the stress I was going through was just too much. She did not pressure or was unsympathetic, but very pragmatic in letting me know the options, but also suggested that I not rush into things but take some time to think about things. Even though she was not very "fluffy" I did feel that she cared about my problem. I think it's just the right touch for me, but then I'm a pragmatic kind of person. Her nurse whom I know from Dr. Lee's office for many years, can always get me in for an appointment quickly. She even called me one time when I was 10 minutes (turned out I overslept) and accommodated me. read more

Disgusting !!!!! HOW CAN A DOCTOR GIVE EXPIRED SAMPLES TO A PATIENT WITH HER OWN HANDS ? I had stomach ache for a week .I called up her office .The front office empl. gave me the same day appointment .The doctor's behaviour was strange ...She kept asking questions but could not come to a conclusion that what might be the problem . Later she told me to go for a blood test and gave EXPIRED samples (expired one year ago)of anti-acid medicine .HOW CAN A DOCTOR GIVE EXPIRED SAMPLES TO A PATIENT WITH HER OWN HANDS ? I took the medicine and got rashes for 3 days .... I won't reccomend anybody to risk their lives and go to Dr. Cole. read more

I've been going to Dr. Cole for years! She's my primary physician and I wouldn't go anywhere else unless I had to. Even though I could probably find a closer physician to my home, I choose not to because Dr. Cole is the best! She always helped me cure myself with whatever I've gotten whether it's the flu or a bug bite. Not only that she's a great doctor, she takes interest in her patients' lives too! read more

Dr Anne Cole is a great doctor. She is so attentive. She doesn't hold back when it comes to giving me helpful advice. I usually don't have to wait too long before I am seen. Her Nurse Atana is always quick to pick up the phone. Does her best to get me in if I need to see the Dr right away. The office is so pleasant. Atana handles multiple tasks.. She's a one woman show. My father who was (operative word was) her patient was recently admitted to the hospital in an emergency situation. She barely showed up to the hospital, admitted him under "observation status" - something everyone should look up and understand because it limited benefits. When she finally found time to speak with me (his daughter), she spent the entire 10 minutes telling me what a terrible day she had the the DMV the day before. She asked about us or my Father and I watcher her look in on him and she spent maybe 2 minutes asking 3 questions. When I confronted her about the observation status and complete lack of communication about my Father's condition, she told me I didn't understand the "constraints" she was under - clearly she is pressured by the insurance companies not to admit people as "in patients" so they can receive benefits for after care. My father went as a complete independently functioning person and left requiring 24 hour care/assistance to do *anything* - none of which is now covered because she refused to admit him as an "in patient". Her complete lack of care about my Father, my family or interest in his care was appalling. We fired her during his hospital stay and had to scramble to replace her; but the damage was done regarding his Medicare benefit status. She is the worst Doctor I have ever met. read more
