I am VERY disappointed in the lack of customer consideration I recently experienced at Silicon Valley Sports Med under the leadership of Dr Tiffany Gorman. I proactively sent an email to my doctor (Dr. Doscas) asking about some recent tests and prescriptions only to be notified that my doctor has left the practice. While Dr. Doscas was a great doctor, I'm puzzled by how this was all handled. I received no email or comms from my doctor, the management team nor was I given any guidance on next steps in switching doctors. This is unacceptable. I should have been proactively notified and should have been made aware of my options ASAP. I called and texted the office several times to speak to Dr. Gorman about my experience but did not receive a call back. Instead, I received an impersonal, cold and sterile letter a few days later notifying me that I needed to find another doctor. I would not recommend this practice to anyone given the sloppy nature of my situation was managed- it's completely unacceptable. read more

I was extremely saddened to hear that Dr. Smith is no longer with your practice. I have Stanford Care and another wonderful physician, but Dr. Smith was truly exceptional in every way -- his care and compassion for our community made such a difference. He certainly made a deep impact my life in the most profound way with his diligence and knowledge in medicine even in complex GI anomalies like mine. I've even told many of my friends at the Bay Club to see him when they needed a great doctor, and some have become his patients too. I have been seeing Dr. Gorman for probably ten years now. Five years ago I moved to the Big Island of Hawaii. I schedule my appointments, with Dr. Gorman, three months out. We go over my labs, meds, and any issues I might be having. There has never been a time when she hasn't been able to fit me in. The reason she has PA's, is so all patients can be seen if and when she can't. Even Having to flying in from the island 4 times a year to see her is more than worth my time. If you think getting in to see Dr. Gorman is tough, move to Hawaii, here you could die before seeing a doctor, that's why I pay to fly in to Cali to see Dr. Gorman. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Tiffany Gorman for five years and have always valued her professionalism and medical care. This review is not about Dr. Gorman's personal expertise, but about the serious administrative and systemic issues in her practice that directly affect patient access and trust. I rarely write negative reviews, but I felt this was important to share so that others can be aware and put themselves into a better situation. 1. Billing Issue In May 2024, I had my annual wellness exam. I provided my insurance (Aetna), which I have used for years. My plan covers wellness visits at 100%, so I should not have owed anything. Eight months later, I received a $550 bill. When I contacted the office, billing staff told me it hadn't been processed through insurance and they would fix it. Yet I kept receiving the bill. I sent multiple portal messages and left two voicemails with billing -- no one ever followed up. Later, when I called to reschedule my next annual exam (in August 2025), I was told I still owed $550. I explained to the front desk staff that I had already spoken to billing and had made multiple attempts to contact them through messages and voicemails without any response. Since the receptionist sat near the billing person, she said she would forward my message directly. The next day, billing finally emailed me claiming Dr. Gorman "did not take my insurance at the time" but offered to "discount" the bill to $300. This was not true. Providers are legally required to notify patients if they stop accepting their insurance. Concerned, I contacted Aetna directly, and they confirmed that Dr. Gorman was in-network and had already been paid two weeks after my visit. My insurance had to step in to resolve the matter. Without that intervention, I might have wrongly paid $300. The lack of responsiveness, misinformation, and attempt to collect money already covered by insurance was deeply troubling and felt dishonest. 2. Appointment Access It is also extremely difficult to get an appointment with Dr. Gorman. When I called to book my next yearly wellness exam, I was told there was a six-month wait. I accepted that, but when I had to reschedule due to a work conflict, I was told it would be another six-month wait -- effectively making it an entire year before I could see her again. It appears that her VIP service patients are being prioritized, which I understand since they pay extra for that program. However, when a physician takes on both VIP and non-VIP patients, it creates an inequitable system where standard patients may go a full year without access to their provider. That is unacceptable for preventive care and makes it very difficult to stay on top of one's health. ConclusionDr. Gorman herself is an excellent physician, but the office practices -- billing mishandling, lack of communication, and extreme difficulty in scheduling -- make this practice unreliable and frustrating. Patients deserve both medical expertise and fair access to care. Until these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend this office. read more

My orthopedic surgeon recommended Dr. Gormon and her clinic. I have traditional medicare with supplement G that I pay out of pocket specifically to provide robust coverage. I haven't found a medical provider that doesn't accept this. I searched the website and tried to use their link for new patients. I saw nothing about medicare refusal. It simply returned an error. I called the office and was told pointedly they do not accept medicare. I tried to explain I have traditional medicare and supplement G ( I pay for all of these). Blunt response of NO. Smacks to me a bit of age discrimination. I weight lift heavy daily and cycle intensely for 40 years. Avoid this place if you're older. You're clearly not welcome. read more

Dr Doscas and Dr Gorman are the epitome of medical professionals. I pay more with my company to have the medical plan in order to see these Dr's and it's worth every penny. Leaving Kaiser and finding this medical group was the best thing I could have ever done for me health and fitness. I don't think I've ever written a poor review about a doctor as I have the utmost respect for the field and my immediate and extended family are doctors. However, I felt this review was necessary to warn others before deciding to see this practice. I had been going to Dr. Gorman for years, and I really liked her......until the last 2 years. I will just give you a few recent examples of why I left this doctor and why I felt I had to warn others. Last fall, I wasn't feeling well and was about to attend a big family trip where my aunt with terminal cancer was flying across the country to be at so I wanted to be seen to ensure I was ok - as always the case was recently, they were too busy to let me see the doctor so they had me see the PA - I explained my situation and he was a deer in headlights. I sfinally asked him, "do you want to take my temperature? How about testing me for strep throat? How about testing me for the flu/covid?" He responded with, "uhhhh ok we can do that". I was dumbfounded. He ended up weirdly saying "uhhhh I have no idea". I walked out of that office wondering if I had just imagined the whole thing. Then on Thanksgiving I fell and I heard a crack in my nose. I just knew I had broken it so I called the office asking for an order to get an x-ray (it was the holiday season and urgent care was a 5-hour wait). The front desk lady and Dr. Gorman's nurse rudely told me that I have to make an appointment before they will order me the x-ray. I said why do I have to make an appointment and spend my time and money when I'm in a lot of pain and need to just get the x-ray to confirm it is broken? They insisted for the appointment. I ended up just going and waiting in an urgent care facility who couldn't have been nicer and confirmed that not only had I broken my nose, but that I needed surgery within 7-days before it started to heal. Had I waited for this stupid appointment with Dr. Gorman that was for no reason other than to get money for the appointment, I would have missed my window for the surgery. Maybe you think this is just a one-off and the office isn't only interested in just making money off of unnecessary appointments?!?! Oh no...you would be wrong...onto the next which was my last straw with this terrible and unempathetic money making machine... A couple months later I went in for my annual check-up with Dr. Gorman. First off, Dr. Gorman's demeanor had changed - I felt uncomfortable and just not the same as I used to...there were some underhanded comments and the warmth was gone. I told her I was about to go on a big, international trip, and went through a few medications I would need. About 2 weeks later, I realized that I had forgotten to ask her if Dramamine (yes just over the counter motion sickness medicine) was ok to mix with a medication I was on. I sent a message to the doctor in the portal and the nurse responded that I needed to make an appointment with Dr. Gorman to get the answer. UMMMMMMM WHAT NOW?!?!?! I re-explained I had just been at the office for my annual appointment and just forgot to ask this very basic questions. She wrote back saying they would not answer me unless I made a new appointment. I told her how frustrated I was and asked her to have the doctor call me in which she agreed to......and unsurprisingly Dr. Gorman never called. THAT WAS IT FOR ME. Every other doctor I have implicitly and thoroughly addresses questions I have in the portal without insisting on an appointment (especially if they had JUST seen me!!). This practice is just so awful now. They don't put the patient first and is all about making money off of anything they can. Some of the staff (front desk, nurses) are extremely curt and rude as well. I have never experienced any of this at a doctor's office before and felt it absolutely necessary to warn others. Let's start off by saying, you will never see "Dr.Gorman" Scheduled MANY appointments SPECIFICALLY with Gorman (reiterated the importance of seeing Her specifically, an "MD") and they ALWAYS dump me in a room to wait and be seen a random PA who has no idea what's going on. Treated poorly and threatened by the phone staff saying in a condescending tone "oh, I'm familiar with you" and "we'll get back to you in a few days" I spent THOUSANDS of dollars correcting their mistakes. Doctor Gorman has been my Doctor for over 20 years. She is very knowledgeable, caring, and attentive. I know I'm in great hands with Doctor Gorman as she takes the time to listen to me, asks me questions to better understand, and she always comes up with a great treatment plan for me. This past nearly 2 years have been very tough for me and if it wasn't for Doctor Gorman I probably wouldn't be alive today. I drive over 1 hour to get to her practice and she is worth every minute. Stay far away from this place. I took my mom to her appt and literally witnessed one of the employees (nursing staff) push a medical cart into another employee shoving her into a wall. (I think her name was Aleena) The whole thing was unbelievable, extremely unprofessional. I wondered what was going on, (was this a joke)? I hope the other employee was ok. Saw dr. Gorman today and I was very impressed. Her PA saw me 1st and seemed very knowledgeable and thorough and most importantly, competent! Both went over my lab results with me and they really took their time explaining and clarifying, definitely not the type to rush you out the door. 4/5 stars because she only takes PPO Dr. Gorman is great! I've been a patient of hers for about 4 years and am so sad I'll need to find a new Dr. that takes HMO. I've seen Dr. Gorman for anything from yearly well-woman exams to allergies and colds to various injuries like rotator cuff and back pain, she even removed a mole that bothered me! She's always warm, kind and easy to talk to. I used to have issues at her old office with bitchy front desk staff and delays in call-backs but the new office isn't like that at all! The receptionist is friendly and thorough. I'm very happy her medical assistant Diana came with her to the new office. Now that the office is shared with just one other Doctor (after 2 visits I have yet to see evidence of the other MD) the patient care is much better. In the new office Diana is consistent with following up (the old office was chaotic because of the front desk staff, I swear messages were never passed on). Dr. Gorman uses a laptop rather than files and charts. I like this because she can access your history and document stuff quickly. Last time I saw her I emailed her with a question a few hours before I got there and she presented me with a response when she walked into the exam room. This would not have been the case in the other office - yet another reason I love the new office! The new office is in an odd location just down the street from her old practice, but don't let that scare you - it's SO nice and modern! I would definitely recommend Dr. Gorman and her entire staff to anyone looking for a Doctor in the Los Gatos/Campbell area - they're even worth the drive from other areas in San Jose! _______________________________________________________ Update 6/11/08 I upped Dr. Gorman to 5 stars, only accepting PPO just might one reason why she's such a great Doctor. She is able to give her patients the time they need rather than the time alloted by the HMO. She also works with YOU the patient, not the insurance.....I remember back when I was on HMO and I always had to get prior authorizations and the doctor always had to do what my insurance wanted rather than whats best for me. I was misdiagnosed twice at Dr Gormans office. It was the physicians assistant taking care of me. I never got to see the actual MD. I went to see two other doctors and described the same problem. Both doctors gave me a treatment that handled my problem that has been ongoing for 2 months within a couple of days! I don't really want to ever come back. I don't feel like I was being taken seriously. I don't think the PA really understood my issues, she did not look into my recent records to check if my recent problem was related, instead she gave a somewhat silly diagnosis and sent me home feeling like shit. I have been with this office for many years. However my recent visit turned out to be ugly. I came in with back pain, the appointment was fine till I mentioned a small accident I had. Gorman refuse to help me in the rudest manner told me to pay out of pocket first, because my insurance will nor cover treatment??? Really?? It might not to be related with the accident and because she made her insane policy I have to pay you out of my pocket what for?? She even did not try to see what is going on with me and help but was eager to ask for money. So unprofessional. After consulting with both insurance companies they said they would pay any claim that came in, they have not heard of this restriction before. It seems she is now more focused on the bottom line. We have moved on and not advise using her if you value your health. read more

Dr. Gorman is very friendly and knowledgeable. I feel very comfortable when I go see her. It's rare when I find a doctor that makes me feel at ease. She is really down-to-earth. She does family practice and specializes in sports medicine. I was recommended to go see her when I was having some pain in my hamstring and knees while training for my triathlon. She immediately knew what the problems were and I felt very good being in her care. The office is a little bit old, but she is moving to a new location later this year. I would definitely recommend her. However, if you have questions regarding some symptoms or some test results, it takes a while to get a call back. You have to talk to some nurse or receptionist first and she passes messages back and forth to the doctor. The phone line for the office is almost always busy too, which can get annoying. read more

This is one of those times where you're not sure that you really want to share how great someone / someplace is. If other folks start coming here, it's going to be tougher to get in to see Dr. Gorman. I've been seeing Dr. Gorman for at least 10 years. I went through doctors every year, looking for the type of doctor that I wanted to grow old with, and who would get to know me well enough to advise me. Dr. Gorman is an amazing person. I never feel rushed when I go into see her, and her advice is always excellent. I've also seen Dr. Fulmer, and my eldest daughter is a patient of his for a sports injury. RUN!!!! IF YOU REALLY NEEED DOCTOR there is NOBODY FOR YOU in this office.!!!! I had chose this office because it is close to my office. I went there today because since morning I felt I had hypertension in my upper chest and around my neck. Two month earlier I was in the emergency with inflammation of my veins in my leg and although I was told that the blood clots in my varicose veins which are superficial is not dangerous, I did feel some concern with my blood pressure as it appeared higher couple of times that morning then usual as I had monitored it myself up this particular day. Before I went to Dr. Gorman's office I made a phone call to see if they have a EKG or premises and I was told they do. Wouldn't you think that your doctor where are you going for a couple of years would be willing to take a look at you and at least measure your blood pressure when you come there and complain about those symptoms. ? To my amazement that did not happen. First time the receptionist said they don't have time to see me, then when I ask at least to measure my blood pressure, I was told they might do that and then I was told that it might be better for me to drive myself to emergency room without seeing anybody. Really , I though doctors supposed to help people in distress!!!! I am normally very healthy 63 year women only with thyroid issue. In fact I have never seen dr Gorman because she is always busy, I only see her Nurses Practitioners and there is several of them. Wouldn't you think someone would see me? I went to car and cry! I called my vascular surgeon who is in Pali Alto and he was shocked. There was 7 people waiting in the waiting room. Wow, Silicon Valley Sports Med team continually surprises and impresses me with their excellent service and availability. From the front desk to the exam room, the service is friendly and assistive. I've been going here for almost 3 years and routinely the team has put my care first. The PAs really make the difference at this practice. Jennifer Turney is Dr. Gorman's PA and is a stand out star. She is punctual, attentive (incredible listener!) and really takes the time to review test results and respond to patient emails. I think what really sets her apart from other medical professionals is her ability to listen to the whole story or ask questions before making a judgment call. I truly feel my care is in the best hands with Jennifer. I was so happy with her service, my husband has started to go as well and is being seen by Chris (also a PA). According to hubby, he's also incredible and a great listener. And, having been seen once by Chris while Jennifer was out I can also confirm a terrific experience. They're doing some great work at Silicon Valley Sports Med - they really seem to put patient care and customer service first. read more

This office and all the staff here are simply amazing. - Everyone is incredibly friendly. - They are on time for their appointments. - The Drs and PAs take the time to listen to you, and don't try to force your care on you. - It is always easy to schedule appointments, ie good availability. - Their online system is great. I was impressed! Location: easy to find, tons of parking. I only saw Jennifer Turney, the PA and she is amazing! She did a detailed medical history and then asked me what my chief concerns were. We had a discussion as to how to take action and I didn't feel rushed. The BEST PART? She took more of a holistic approach (diet, exercise, stretching) instead of just quickly prescribing pills! Who does that nowadays? Jennifer Turney does! And they even have free wi-fi! Cons: After the assistant took my vital signs, she said "take off your clothes and put this (gown) on". Dr. Gorman has brought together some wonderful doctors, P.A.s and auxilliary support staff. Everyone there is highly professional, competent, thorough and friendly. The doctors and P.As are attentive and good listeners. I always leave feeling heard and with concerns and questions answered. The support staff makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Booking an appointment is easy, and I have rarely had to wait more than a day to be seen. I highly recommend this practice. read more

My husband and I had appointments with this physician to establish her as our primary care physician. She'd been recommended by my cardiologist. Once in her office the problems started. We never even saw the doctor. An office staff worker named Rachel began our problems. She complained when my husband requested we go back together and not separately. I've had strokes and have memory problems and he never sends me alone in to a doctor, especially a new one. She finally relented and led us to their scales to weigh. He explained he needed to sit to remove his shoes and she acted annoyed. She pointed to a close room and told him there were chairs in there. He is in excess of 350 pounds and the chair in question was narrow with arms. He said he would need a wider chair and she huffed and said there were no wider chairs. I spoke up and told him to sit down and I would remove his shoe. This was because she did not offer to help. When she followed us in, still acting angry, I asked if we had done something to anger her. She got worse and informed me that she felt bad because she had been sick for a few days. Then she proceeded to say she did not like how I was talking to her. My husband had enough and said, "Let's go." I've never walked out of a doctor's office because of treatment by the staff but I did follow him out. We retrieved all our paperwork to take home and shred. I cannot feel comfortable going to a doctor's office where there is a staff member with so little compassion they can't treat elderly patients with disabilities nicely. The doctor may be top rate, but you still have to get past the staff. read more

This office is incredibly unprofessional. Especially their current "office manager" Sean (who knows how it's spelled, don't really care). They lost medical information and forms with my social security number and other private info. When questioned, had no real answers and became combative. Saying things such as "I've had people working here longer than you've been alive" and "you're not a real customer you've only been here twice." Not only is he wrong about both of those things (they opened in 1999, I was born in 1984; I've been there at least 5 times), the manner of disrespect exhibited wad the worst I've ever heard from a "manager." Absolute joke. See why the rest of the staff feels so empowered to provide sub par customer service with such an amazing example from "leadership." Never seen the actual Doctor despite numerous requests over the years. Only PAs for me and my wife. Can't even get the Doctor to return a call trying to resolve this. You'd think the person with their name on the office would care about such crap service. Apparently that isn't the case. Their answer was that I was the problem and told me if I didn't make another appointment, so they could charge me, and showed up to resolve this that they would call the police. Trying to threaten and harass patients isn't a good look for a group of "care professionals." Don't believe the hype. This place isn't worth your time or business. I LOVE my doctor's office. I'm almost afraid to have them be discovered because I so appreciate being able to get in when needed. At my midwife's suggestion my husband and I changed to Dr. Gorman for our primary care dr, and I am SO happy with the decision. All of the staff have amazing "bedside" manner, friendly warm, professional, help put you at ease, great at educating and communicating, and so knowledgable. I've seen Dr. Gorman, plus several of the PAs. Recently I called at 8am on a Friday after dealing with two days of pain, and they fit me in that morning. Worked with Shannon, she made a plan to help resolve my issue and talked me through a plan for the weekend, in case things got worse instead of better. The receptionist, who is a wizard, queen of all things office is even incredible. I called with a quick question while I was in the pharmacy, and she was able to touch base with my PA and get back to me asap. Can't recommend Dr. Gorman and team enough.
