My father is "Kibei" meaning born in USA , then at a young age returning to Japan to be raised. A few months had passed since my conversation with my cousin. I received an package from Japan containing photo copies of my father as a child, and original studio photo's of my father in school uniform. The pictures were taken in 1931 and we're fading fast from being so old. I was quite hesitant in trying to have these pictures restored mainly because of the high cost of restoring photo's. But I knew that if I don't restore them now, they would be gone forever! My decision in picking the right photo studio to do the job was ( the business had to be local and have great reviews on "Yelp". My wife and I had no idea as to the cost of restoring old photos so we brought them in for an estimate. There are times when everyone is on assignments and the business in closed. Fortunately the sign read open as we drove by! (Yah !) Roger was quite helpful in explaining the pricing process and proceeded to scan the photo's. In this way he can see the extent of the damage and determine the price. Even though the pictures were faded, the damage was minimal. Roger restore the photos on the spot. "Great" ! And the price was far less than I expected. Thanks to Roger I have restored photos of my father that will last a lifetime and generations to come ! Thanks for reading!

Great Photographer for Fast-Paced On-the-Move Events…read more SITREP I've enjoyed Melissa at work for a few different events and have appreciated her talent and dedication for putting together great event albums. SETUP At a few Yelp-events that she has worked now, Melissa has taken some great group, portrait and single person captures. She is always happy to grap that shot of the group of friends that you have together and make it a memorable moment to keep. TEQUILA MUSEO At the Yelp event held at Tequila Museo, I first met Melissa and was impressed with how she captured such vivid pictures of the colorful surroundings and the "fun chaos" of the event with so many people, Yelpers and participants. She did a great job of keeping up with the various things going on in the big room. SIENNA Most recently at Yelp's Sienna event in El Dorado, there were a number different lighting environments - both inside and outside - of the elegant Yelpers all decked out in their fine fashion that she was able to capture and make look marvelous with her wonderful eye to detail. THE LOWDOWN Melissa will create a wonderful picture album package for you to remember those special moments.

She did a great job continuously moving around the room capturing moments whether they were candid or posed. Melissa is always ready, excited and happy to take a picture. After following her on facebook I decided to take Melissa up on an offer for a photo session. Melissa was extremely personable and came prepared. During our shoot she made me feel comfortable and came up with a lot of great ideas. It felt more like we were friends than just photographer and subject. I was a little worried about the lighting at our location but relieved when I saw Melissa had brought her own lighting and box of props! Our communications were mostly made through facebook, email and text. She was prompt in responding and getting me any information I needed. My photos became available to me through an online gallery soon after my session. Then, after I had decided which ones I wanted, final touches were made and the negatives and copies on dvd were sent to me shortly. I was extremely impressed and satisfied with the final products and and highly appreciated her work. Melissa is creative and innovation with her photography. I highly recommend Melissa Uroff Photography for your next photo-shoot. Check out her website and facebook her portfolio and some of her other work. Because of her great professionalism and personality my fiancee and I are even considering hiring her for our wedding. Call her up for a quote or chat and I'm sure you'll get a feel for what I'm talking about.

Bradford & Mia shot our wedding this past September and I've happily passed their name along to…read moreseveral people since. A husband and wife duo, they were great to work with on our wedding day. Both of them are fun, very laid back, and made us all feel comfortable in front of the camera. They do full-day coverage so we have pictures from early morning until late into the night. 1245 pictures to be exact. Overwhelming, but awesome. Particularly since they are relatively affordable (relative to the insane cost of most wedding photographers, but still not cheap). We worked out a deal with them where we did without the albums, prints, and all that nonsense and just got our pictures on disks. The pictures themselves are great too. They range from artsy to things a grandma would like to hang on her wall. And while there are a few things I wish would have had more coverage, and a few things that have ample coverage that I didn't really care that much about, that's probably a matter of me not expressing those desires to them ahead of time. The one potential negative would be that they are sometimes difficult to reach. It was never a huge problem, and Bradford was always apologetic about it, but it made me nervous a few times. They live a few blocks away from me, so I always knew that if worse came to worse I'd just show up at their door and ask my question (though it never came to that!). All in all, a great couple to work with, and we are totally satisfied with our wedding pictures.

Like DB and Katey L, I too would strongly discourage anyone from using Bradford Shepherd…read morePhotography for your wedding. My wife and I decided to use Bradford for our wedding in August 2004, and up until and including the wedding, he was a joy to work with. Not only did he drive in to SF from Sacramento to initially meet with us, but he also spent longer than we had agreed to at the wedding, taking photos well into the night. But like the others, once the wedding was over he was virtually impossible to reach. We met briefly to receive our proof book (which ended up being a saving grace), but when we tried to contact him regarding which photos we wanted prints of and also getting copies of the digital photos he had taken he was never available. It took over a year to get the negatives of the photos he had shot with film, and that was only after having a lawyer contact him. We never saw the digital files. Bradford is definitely a talented photographer, but he knows he's in a business where he doesn't need repeat customers. Should you decide to use his photography services my advice is to not pay in full until you have everything you need from him _after_ the wedding is over.

I originally fell in love with his style of photography while browsing through photos of weddings throughout the Sac/SF area and beyond, and I can now say that he was my favorite wedding vendor throughout the entire process. John was highly professional to work with, and was very friendly and engaging with our wedding party and guests. I was so happy when he showed up while I was getting ready on our wedding day, and that is always a good sign! He made me laugh through what could have been a stressful time. He provided JUST the right amount of direction to get the shots that he wanted, while allowing everything to play out naturally. Looking through our wedding photos now, I can relive that day through the story they tell because of how well he captured everything... such a gift to us! He provided more than I had expected in terms of our prints as well, and he sent them to us in the most beautiful photo box that we will have forever (total surprise)! I have had so many compliments on our wedding photos, and I know John's work speaks for itself. I can't recommend John the Photographer enough... feel free to contact me if you are looking for further reference info!
