So I…read morecontacted my cousin in Japan ( on my fathers side of the family) and asked if they had any photos of my father as a child. My father is "Kibei" meaning born in USA , then at a young age returning to Japan to be raised. A few months had passed since my conversation with my cousin. I received an package from Japan containing photo copies of my father as a child, and original studio photo's of my father in school uniform. The pictures were taken in 1931 and we're fading fast from being so old. I was quite hesitant in trying to have these pictures restored mainly because of the high cost of restoring photo's. But I knew that if I don't restore them now, they would be gone forever! My decision in picking the right photo studio to do the job was ( the business had to be local and have great reviews on "Yelp". My wife and I had no idea as to the cost of restoring old photos so we brought them in for an estimate. There are times when everyone is on assignments and the business in closed. Fortunately the sign read open as we drove by! (Yah !) Roger was quite helpful in explaining the pricing process and proceeded to scan the photo's. In this way he can see the extent of the damage and determine the price. Even though the pictures were faded, the damage was minimal. Roger restore the photos on the spot. "Great" ! We paid a good amount for both photography and videography. 10k to be exact. The pictures were okay. There were some good ones. The video part is where it got me. You'd expect I'd get our first dance included right? Nope! It sure was not. My fault for not reading the contract and not seeing our first dance would not be part of the wedding video. I just assumed it would since it's a big part of our wedding. If we want our first dance video we'd have to pay them more money... this saddens me. We'd already paid so much and they won't even include this clip for us.

I was looking at some post production photography work, and was really impressed with many of the photos. I had no idea that the gentleman that I was speaking to was the photographer himself. He was so incredibly humble and gracious to put up with my questions. This guy has a great eye. I started chatting with Erik about all of the fun things that his company does. I mentioned to him that I have a friend who has started her own business, and really needed help to advertise her " new baby". I guess I'm always very skeptical about linking people together, and whether or not there is going to be follow through. I was blown away by not only how quickly Erik reached out to my friend, but he had already scheduled a meeting, and was working on potential layouts for her to look at for their meeting. Who does this?! Erik does! Erik really puts 100% of himself into everything that he does, & his efforts truly show. We all have those special life events that happened, or we have friends that have life events going on, and we're always in need of a great photographer. While Erik does amazing photography, he also handles multimedia, and so much more. He's super talented, and an Unlikely Legend. Let's not keep him a secret ! Colleen was able to capture images at just the right angles and listened to my insecurities so that she could highlight what I felt my assets are!
