Dr. Harris and his excellent staff were wonderful working with me and my Alaskan Klee Kai NeiKa plus puppies. He was informative and caring about her and her large puppies which needed to be born by c section. He took my after hours call and helped guide me through the process. I am genuinely heartbroken and furious about the way my family and I were treated at this veterinary clinic. This is the third dog we have taken to this vet and have cared for by them- with no other previous issues with any of them. But during one of the most devastating moments of our lives -- saying goodbye to our dog due to reasons beyond our control -- the vet, Mark Harris, showed zero compassion, empathy, or basic human decency. Their tone, their attitude, and their complete lack of sensitivity were unbelievably disrespectful, especially considering we were struggling through an emotional and painful decision when we were completely out of options. He dismissed our problem when we needed help the most. To make matters even worse, this same clinic had previously prescribed the wrong medication at the wrong dosage, which ended up worsening my dog's condition. That mistake alone is unacceptable, but the cold treatment we received during a decision for euthanasia made the whole experience traumatic in a way I'll never forget. There was no comfort, no patience, no kindness -- just dismissive behavior from this vet at the exact moment when families need compassion the most. I would never recommend this place to anyone who loves their pet and expects professional, caring medical treatment. Our pets deserve better. So do their families. This is the lowest place you can be with your pet and we were abandoned by professionals you thought you could trust and rely on for help. read more

My dog was attacked by another dog. I took her to Annehurst Vet hospital and they immediately jumped into action. The entire staff was amazing. The care and support they showed not only my dog but also myself was above and beyond. They were so compassionate. They even called to check on her a few times once I brought her home. I recently moved back to Westerville and had never been to this vet before. But I will surely be a lifetime customer as long as I have a dog. So a week had gone by, until I could get him in. I was told to go to Vet ER however they said if not life threatening they are not seeing injuries that could wait... I sent pictures and video no one at office ever contacted me back. I go into the office they exam him,, I am shown he has a fracture and they don't have a splint for his size (he needs an XS), however I am told another doctor will being bringing one later today and if not we will call you. "Oh by the way we close at 7pm now we have had 4 doctors leave" (I wonder why). So 6:30pm I call "Hello I am so and so and I haven't heard anything about my cat",, oh I am sorry he has to stay overnight the splint didn't come in and we will call you in the morning... ok,,, but not ok... next day call "Hello I am so and so I haven't heard anything about my cat Emril is he ok? Can I pick him up? What time etc..... someone a female I don't know her name... is clueless and continues like she just started ( I mean working ever) she is irritated with my questions and acts like she doesn't know anything about my cat or what I'm talking about ... she is like what is your name (Again),, phone number pets name, when did he come in... now I am FIRED UP... as I am talking to my hubby in the background I said "Now I have to do her job". She yells EXCUSE ME! I was thinking let me go get my cat. I get there.. I am calmly talking "I am here to get my Cat",, she said that will be $454.00. I am shocked I said wow you know who I am now and my animal". The first thing is my bill is $454.00 not your name and Pets name and etc... As I am asking questions the older female with the gray hair is side eyeing me... I was like oh she must have been the staff on the phone. I paid my bill and rescued my cat. It'ssssss not over.... Next day, I had to take him back the splint was so tight his toes were swelling... take him back in around 11am.... We will get him checks right away... poor guys his toes are so red and swollen... (the tech noticed that took him out my arms). So 4:45pm (5 1/2 hours later) I called ... Hi checking on my Kitten again they know exactly who I am and said hasn't been seen yet... we have 1 doctor and she has been swamped with emergencies.. I'm thinking when I called at 10am why was I told to get him over there ASAP!! And now it 4:45pm and he hasn't been seen YET? Angry me starts to head over to vet... in route the Doc calls.... Doctor calls me around 5ish leaves a voicemail.. "I checked the splint and it's not too tight to cause his toes to swell" (wrong answer... if you check online the first thing about swelling extremities after a splint it says it's due to the splint being too tight), "what I believe is he was licking his toes which caused swelling and I noticed when I removed the splint he started licking his toes". (That's a lie because the splint was so long he couldn't reach his toes)... "Also I took off the splint to relieve the pressure and I would like to keep him until the swelling goes down maybe for 2 days or so, I would like to give him an Anti inflammatory to help speed up the process" (I am listening now his leg has been broke for a week, the swelling only happened with the splint, now he needs to stay for 2 days and he need anti inflammatory)... I went to get my baby, the gray head female checked me out after checking the system as if I had a bill,,, I was thinking she has to be out of her mind if she thinks I am about to pay another dime. She went to get Emril and his food I said that splint that was $125 I want it. Now after getting him I thought if the doctor was truly about animals she could have put a soft wrapping around his leg. NOTHING!! As she is heading to get the splint She says I will see if I can give to you. I told her that's fine you can reimburse me. She comes back with the splint. The size was too big it was a small that was why it was wrapped all the way to his toes.. it was too big and it was so tight it was cutting into his skin... he is a Sphynx therefore he doesn't have fur!!! I don't recommend this place to anyone that cares for their pets... they are a complete rip off... I have a couple of other complaints about this place I will post later. read more

I've been going here since 2018 but I've noticed a decline as of recently in their care for me as a customer. I filled out an adoption application months ago for one of their kittens they have there in a cage. I unfortunately had a friend who had cancer and I was spending everyday at Riverside with him. After he passed my daughter and I took my dog Nico in for a checkup. I them told them I filled out an app months ago and never heard back. The application was nowhere to be found. They could not explain it but said the cat that I had wanted to adopt was with an employee to see how it was with their pet. I said ok and my daughter and I each filled out another application. We never heard back for easily over a month. Nothing. Unfortunately my mom passed during this time so again I forgot about it. Today I took my nieces cat in who had been lost for about 3 weeks and luckily through Pet fbi it was found. I was bringing it in for a checkup. I again said i had filled out now 3 applications with no response. Noone was available to talk to me or explain it but said as soon as the person in charge was out of a procedure she promised to call. I didn't even arrive home yet when I got an email. They email said I had been vetted anddidnt qualify as I have turned down certain procedures with my animals. I guess the grand plus that I just payed to have a growth removed from my dogs mouth doesn't prove my worth. I guess if u don't agree to every price increase or procedure your deemed not fit to adopt a homeless cat or kitten. They will tell u it's up to you but they don't really mean it I guess it's vet mafia idk. Regardless after spending literally a year at my friend's side in Riverside and 15 days straight in hospice with my mom and watching her slowly pass as well as taking care of both of these people at their house changing diapers and drain bags one could probably assume I could take care of a homeless kitten. And I would think and in person conversation or the phone call I was promised would show some sense of care. Oh, my daughter who hasn't turned down any procedures still hasn't heard back on her application. Bad business. Period. read more

Drs Maimone and King are superb and some of the most caring vets I have ever encountered. They are short staffed and stressed beyond belief but still take the time to offer compassion and superb care. Send food and volunteers! Had an emergent situation in which both of them skipped lunch or overbooked their schedules. It's about our animals here, first and foremost and it shows. read more

I cannot say enough about the Westerville clinic. Their vets are dedicated, knowledgeable and thorough, the staff friendly and helpful. One recent example: When my cat licked some chocolate cookie dough (long story...) the staff person on call went through the whole situation carefully with me, put me on hold and got an expert opinion from their emergency vet *while he was saving another animal* and saved me an expensive middle-of-the-night emergency visit. She could have palmed me off on an (also expensive) animal poison control hotline and called it a night, but she didn't. We've taken all our pets there and wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

I have been taking my dogs to Annehurst for 30 years. The doctors are excellent and caring and we have had only had good experiences with them. Some reviews here talk about the staff... During the pandemic many businesses suffered from staff who "ghosted" the business, and hiring was difficult, don't blame the change in work force mentality against Annehurst. I find all the staff kind and caring. Annehurst staff has our pets best interests in mind and the prices are reasonable. read more

My dogs have always gotten good treatment here, but it's some of the receptionists that have let me down, and did again today. They had (WRONGLY) set me up for a Friday morning appt. for a tech visit to finish up a series of shots for my dog. I've had tech visits before and they're simple and fast at almost any hour. I asked if I could change this to the Saturday as it was supposed to have been and the receptionist only said "They're typically very busy then." No attempt to suggest a later time, whatever. Just silence. To which I replied "Never mind then." I now need to find another vet office due to this kind of lazy, uncaring customer interaction. Sad. read more

The Staff particularly is rude, mouthy and unprofessional, Michelle is terrible at her job and as a working Human-being, First of all they cannot run my debit card but everybody else could run it went and got food afterwards the next morning went and got food they called said they couldn't run it and they were doing something wrong and it had to be their machine and I believe I was working with Michelle at that point too and she was just rude would cut me off and told me that it wasn't their machine Michele needs to take a class in protocol and how to be polite I don't care I wasn't cussing her out I wasn't yelling at her you she was just rude the minute I interacted with her, she's in the wrong industry to work with customers. Then they send me a bill for $161 for what? not real sure what, I had a dog come in because he was having an issue with going to the bathroom and they did nothing for him then I had a cat coming in I called and said listen can I just bring my kitten to she needs a rabies that's all I need I have an appointment at capital Vet they charge $18 they said OK we could get her in nothing about I had to pay $57 for exam for an $18 shot unacceptable cause I would've said no And just save my appointment with Capital. Teach your staff to do better work, then when I called in Michele was rude rude rude she's a terrible human being to be representing your company and then she hung up on me because she's a coward as well. Nice employees that you hired to represent your company, I will be filing a Better Business Bureau complaint and an attorney general complaint. I've been coming here for twelve years ever since I moved here from Grove City. I was lucky enough to have had Dr. Crase before she left and now I have Dr. Meiers who's just as nice and caring as Dr. Crase. I've never had a bad experience here and everyone has always been nice and helpful whether it's just a checkup or if one of my fur babies is under the weather. Today was an annual but poor Jackie has yeast infections in his ears so we got meds to fix him up. I like their convenient hours and that they offer boarding and grooming there if I need it. read more

How about being charged $50.00 for a non-prescription product which may be purchased for $21.99 on Chewy.com or Amazon.com? When I asked for consideration in matching the price and provided both links to the exact product they sold me, it was explained "they are a small business and cannot compete with larger businesses". Well I am a small business, too, and would NEVER rip off my clients to this degree, especially when price comparisons are so readily available to consumers. No wonder I had to verbally request a receipt and my products were given to me in a bag, stapled. You must take us for fools! It will be a cold day before I ever recommend Annehurst Vet to anyone, nor will I ever take any of my three pets there again. I hope your $30.00 upcharge was worth losing a client over, Annehurst. I highly advise finding a different veterinary hospital. We used to take both of our dogs here and had a decent experience but continued to come here due to liking Dr. Sebens so much. Recently, when my dog had an issue with green discharge from his eyes, I called to schedule and was informed that she (and several other vets) had recently left. Disappointing, but I went ahead and scheduled with Dr. Maimone who saw my dog but barely examined him (he was a rescue and is terrified and acts out at the vet so I wasn't particularly perturbed by this). Nothing at all was done to calm him. When I checked out, I found that office visits/exams have gone up twice in the last year and now cost $65!! That was in addition to a $50 eye check for abrasions and $15 ointment. Very long story shorter, the issue was not resolved with the treatment they prescribed and came back about 2 weeks later. I continued the ointment for a few more days figuring the vet's office is busy, and the issue came back again a few days later. I called on a Saturday and was told the vet would call me back Monday. She did not. I called Monday at 3pm and was placed on a 12 minute hold then the tech came on who was extremely rude and admonished me for giving my dog "expired" Trazodone (it was prescribed in April 2019 and would have "expired" in April 2020. As a nurse I know there is no effect other than possible slightly lower efficacy in this timeframe and was not concerned about this), told that my dog was bad and needed more of it, that I should use Benadryl, which I had since the vet and I discussed it, and that it was imperative that I bring the dog back for a recheck (another $47! the cost of a normal office visit most places). I firmly believed it was not in my dog's best interest to go back there when he reacts so negatively to it, she had just seen him, and he has had no clinical changes, and likely an oral antibiotic or steroid was all that was needed. After not getting the promised call back, I did call back again and asked specifically to speak to the vet since the call with the tech did not go very well. The front desk girl was nice enough but began the "The vets get 25-30 messages per day" spiel. It was 5:30pm and the vet was home. In my book that translates to not that worried about returning those messages. I understand being short-staffed, but I don't understand making people feel that their pets do not matter. Finally got a call back from Dr. Maimone today, and it sealed the deal. We will NEVER step foot back into Annehurst. She called to lecture me, to tell me that as a nurse I should realize my pet's issue is not important and said that was why she had delegated it to the tech. She COUNTED to 4 stating I had called 4 times and continued to admonish me. I eventually exploded and let her know exactly what I thought she and her staff could do. I have no regrets, as I do not ever wish to subject my beloved pets to these people's cares again. My firm impression for a long time now is that they are money hungry, extremely rude, and very uncaring here aside from Dr. Sebens when she was there. Now that she is gone, there is no reason for me to stay. read more

They are an excellent vet. They did a good job working with me to get my dog's care down to something I could afford to pay when he needed to have a tooth extracted. The vet was very patient with my scared dog. I do wish that they had told me he wasnt going into surgery until later though, as he was a senior dog, and I was very vrery worried all day about him. I couldn't be happier with this vet! They have been so good to my pup! When we first got her she was a sick-y and needed some help socializing. They went above and beyond working with her in daycare, helping her learn how to play with other dogs, answering questions, and nursing her back to health. They are cruel, unkind and all about the money. We called for urgent euthanasia of our very sick and dying cat. We we're given a time and quoted a rate. They called back and said because we had not been there in a while it would be more. The price was double. I complained and they called back and said it was now $180. Who does that? Who puts a person in an emergency situation under such duress? Our cat died in our arms. Thank God for Rascal Animal Hospital who showed kindness and compassion. I have never loved a staff so much. Dr Harris is amazing!!!! I love him! Mary, Steve, and Mandy and all staff know us and always follow up after a visit and always accommodate our requests and are always there to help. We breed french bulldogs and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my babies. Dr Harris is so knowledgeable about dogs and I never doubt his opinions and suggestions. He's always teaching along the way. For 20+ years, Dr. Mark Harris has been my partner in caring for my furry family members. Even when my pups were out of his care and critically hospitalized at OSU and at North FL Animal Hospital - Dr. Harris has always been there for our family, and helped us consider all options and make decisions. Recently, I rushed my 7-9ish year old rescue to Annehurst for care; he certainly didn't look like he was dying... but I feared he was in bad shape because of his actions. Dr. Gonzales took us right in; after evaluation, she told me Wilson needed surgery for a twisted stomach (that's what killed Marley of "Marley and Me"). Dr. Harris was off that night, but when the surgery didn't go well, the office called him and he took the time to drive to his office to see if he could do anything to help and to communicate with me. We had no idea Wilson was in such bad shape. Our trust in Mark made it easier to make the decision to let Wilson go without further pain. Previously, Dr. Mark gave us a bonus year with our precious Gibson! OSU said to put him down-Dr. Mark said absolutely NO! Dr. Mark was right! Gibson made us smile everyday for another year!! BTW--OSU wasn't wrong; they just didn't understand the dynamics of our household. And, Daisy.. Her not-so-forever family brought her to him to be euth'd because she was old and fat. She had another 2 stellar years after her family gave up on her because of Dr. Harris--this is personal to me because I was her foster turned permanent Mom. I have been using this vet for years but after my last visit, I am done. The vet I had before - Dr. Blanton was amazing. I never had to worry that I would be charged for tests that were not necessary and I always knew my cat was in good hands. After several years of terrible trips to the vet where my cat was so stressed out she would bite anyone that tried to help her, Dr. Blanton suggested putting her into a light sleep in order to treat her. This made trips to the vet a breeze and did not break the bank. However, Dr. Blanton is no longer there and times have changed. My last trip included the usual sleepy time but this time, instead of being charged $30 for that extra treatment that makes the visit easier, I was charged $165! That did not include the general check up and vaccinations, nor did it include the x-rays. I was even pressured to run more tests but I decided that I had probably spent enough. When I got my bill for $400 I was in shock. I went home and pulled out old invoices to see how much I normally paid....no where near that for the same services. I called the office to voice my concern and was told that prices have gone up. There were no offers to give a credit, no offers to receive free services, not even an apology. My guess is that my old vet wouldn't last in this "up-sell" environment - she probably was too cost conscious for her clients. I won't be back. The place itself is fine but to not tell someone who has been coming there for years that a service that is ALWAYS used has increased by that much, that's just plain bad customer service. read more

Dr. Crase is the bomb dot com. My dog is a beast, he's a huge Great Dane. At home he's a big lap dog baby. However as soon as he's in the vets office & he sees a vet or vet tech & growls like an asshole. He's never bitten, but it's pretty frustrating. He's been to a few vets before moving here, & many of them were put off by the behavior. One of them was even like "I can't believe this dog is a therapy dog!" Hard to explain that he hates YOU, but he loves everyone else. Hell, my 17 month old uses him as a jungle gym & takes treats right out of his mouth, it's strictly a vet thing. Dr. Crase is the FIRST doctor who took the time to get on his level, avert her eyes, wait until he was coming to her to start work. Every time she'd leave & come back she'd do it again if needed. By the end of his appointments with her he is literally tail wagging & leaning on her for love. That kind of treatment speaks volumes for me. I literally drive past 2 much closer offices to see her. I'll be getting all of the "kids" on a schedule with her as soon as finances pick up for us. Also she let's me be involved in treatment plans. I'm sure there's a way she'd rather do things, but from what I see she understands not everyone is by the book. Also the staff has always been super friendly. & they love The Monster as well. I'd give 5 stars if prices were a smidgen lower. read more

Plaudits & kudos to Dr. Harris. Harris has taken care of all three of my pets: Shamu, Judge & now Prince. Recently Prince has had some serious breathing issues. The day before our Cavalier Prince had difficulties, my husband was rushed by squad with blood clots & spent 10 days in ICU. Dr. Harris went Over and above. He was "bulldog"tenacious and did not give up in trying to diagnose what the issue was with Prince. Our dog received great care and Dr. Harris and assistants provided extraordinary personal communication and status updates. Also, welcomed me to visit my pet while there as a patient. It reassured me that Prince was receiving excellent care and assured me of his continued progress. Can't say enough good things about not only Dr. Harris, but the Staff. Customer service is something to be desired. We have been waiting on a prescription to be called in. I called to check on why the prescription wasn't called in while I was standing at the pharmacy and received some of the most Unprofessional attitude from the woman who answered the phone. My wife had called hours before to check in as well and received the same type of service. Come to find out they sent the prescription to the wrong pharmacy after all. Wow, what a great veterinarian and team. My dog ripped his whole tooth out gnawing on his kennel on a flight into Columbus. I did quick Yelp search around my hotel and called Annehurst Veterinary Hospital. They said they were full for the night but offered to fit me after hearing the situation and anxiousness in my voice. A short time later I had the appropriate medicines for dog and all is well. The knowledge, kindness and care they have is outstanding. read more
