WARNING: My cat was injured at Designer Paws (Upper Arlington). I brought my cat in on June 9, 2025, for a Lion cut. The appointment felt rushed--under 30 minutes--and the groomer (Misty) said almost nothing when I picked her up. Once home, I discovered two open, bleeding wounds on my cat's backside that were not there before the grooming. These appeared to be nicks from the clippers. I immediately began cleaning the wounds and applying antibiotic ointment, and took photos two days later to document them. I contacted the salon right away. On June 12, I received a call from the manager (Cheyenne), who was cold, defensive, and insisted that because I signed a waiver, they weren't responsible--even if they caused the injuries. I was shocked by the lack of accountability or concern. Accidents can happen, but how a business responds matters. There was no apology, no offer to help, and no compassion. Please think twice before taking your pet here. In my experience, the groomers were rushed and careless, and the management was unprofessional and dismissive. For a place that calls itself Designer it misses the mark. I have bought my poodle in for his third cut by the same lady and every cut was mediocre, and she don't know how to cut his top knot. It's always lopsided or crooked. She also doesn't listen to what and how you want the cut. $156 is too expensive to not have my poodle look top tier. I absolutely do not recommend. read more

I must admit they did this in about three hours and I had been in the hospital during the day and the day after she was there when I got home I was a bit stunned. it was the worst cut my golden doodle ever had. so I then researched the background of this place and was absolutely shocked at some of the comments, especially the poor lady and her dog, that they cut the pad off its paw and virtually ignored responsibility for what the woman had to go through in the pain and several weeks of nursing the dog back to Health? So disappointed! Thought they had worked through the growing pains and staffing issues until today! Previous groomer left that only took MAX 2 hours. Today after not receiving notification after 2 and half hours, stopped in to pick up. Unfortunately, he only had a bath. Majority of his time spent in a crate while the groomer "juggled 5 dogs". My 13 pound dog was being groomed by Becca at the Westerville location on May 15th, 2024. I get a call that Becca cut his paw during the groom, so they bandaged him up and recommended bringing him to the vet. When I pick him up, I asked for a discount on the groom given the injury and they said no but will pay for vet bills. We get to the vet the same night, and they say the cut is deep and they anticipate stitches. My dog had to undergo surgery where the vet said the paw pad almost fully lacerated through, so they made the decision to remove the entire paw pad. Now, my dog has a bandage that cannot get wet that needs to be changed every 5 days for at least 3 weeks, and is on three different medications for pain and infection. Designer Paws is paying for all of this through their insurance (which I can confirm because their insurance contacted me). I received a phone call on May 16th from the Designer Paws CEO, Misty. She explained that my dog was well-behaved, and the injury happened because Becca was cutting too fast. I once again asked if I can receive refund for the groom given the severe injury, but Misty declined, saying the cost goes towards "funding the vet bills". When I responded that my money shouldn't be going towards the vet bills, she backtracked and said, "it's to pay the groomer." On May 17th, I drafted a demand letter highlighting the specific hardships this experience has caused my family. In the letter, I wrote that I want full reimbursement for the cost of the groom given this service was negligently completed and resulted in permanent injury. The letter also listed actions I would take (writing reviews, filing complaints, etc) if I am not compensated by May 27th. The letter was reviewed by multiple parties to ensure no rules were broken. Later on May 17th, the police called me and said that Designer Paws management feels threatened by me and my letter, and I cannot contact them again. I asked the police officer (who had read my letter) if anything in my letter was illegal or harassment, and they told me everything in the letter was legal, falls under 1st amendment rights, and management "just feels threatened." Further, the police officer explained that Designer Paws informed them that if I want my money back I will need to go through the legal system. So while Designer Paws claims to have paid my vet bills and cites that as the reason they won't refund me, their insurance is actually paying the vet bill. Meanwhile my dog is still in a cone and bandage weeks later. Please consider that if you bring your pets here, the groom may be very well done but if there are any accidents you will be treated poorly. Reviewing other reviews it looks like my dog is not the first to get hurt here. read more

They groom my cat. I take him to Designer Paws, he goes in looking rather scraggly(he's a long haired cat) when I pick him up he is "spiffy" well groomed and nails cut! I am pleased with the work they do! I have been taking my cat there for some time now, their work is consistently very good! I recommend them for cat grooming!! read more

I had high hopes for the Paws Salon. I was very clear about the cut I wanted (AKC). I also said I didn't want anyone new. I was told the owner travels the country and is excellent and has spent hours training her staff. Unfortunately, the cut was the worst I've ever had on my dog. This is my 2nd time taking my pet there. I was happy with the results in the past. But today January 11. My dog went there at the moment I picked up my dog didn't notice anything but when I was driving home. My mom checked my dog and notice they have poop on his butt. Like they didn't clean it. And also when I was putting a sweater I notice couple of cuts on his legs. The first thing about that they didn't clean the sanitary parts. I sent a picture and no response at all. Later I called and fort art of magic they found the message and supposed they didnt notice. I spoke with someone and they supposed to contact their boss. And couple minutes later. She called me and told me they didnt notice they cut my dog. So I told them. They hide thing to pet owner. Because is imposible to didn't notice if the grooming person cut a dog. Well my dog has aguan of blood and I have proof of the cuts on his legs. But this is disrespectful. Because people take and advantage doing things to our pets and the pets can talk and said how they was treated. I don't recommend this place. No proffesional at all. They need to be clear to dog owner and let us know anything happened to our pets. read more

Second time coming home after grooming with scratched retina -- even spoke with the actual groomer to please be careful around our pets eyes - only to bring him home to shuttering and blinking in the same eye injured before- waking up the next morning with the eye matted shut - first injury was almost $1500 from emergency vet visit from serious scratched retina and a weeks worth of drops and salve - be ware!!! read more

Always a professional experience from start to finish! Making an appt is easy, they send reminders, follow up to get vet records and most of all do a fabulous job with my golden retrievers.
